yes, there is hate... pain... suffering... ego... violence... and a lot of bad things in the world, but there is also peace, love, wisdom, control, compassion, forgiveness and a lot of good things in this world, I feel how bansuri music kills al the bad things in me and in a certain way it also kills the bad things out there... Bansuri makes the good things come to life, if you feel bad, then listen this music because the sound of this flute tells "i know, it hurts but look, here is God".

This raga was composed by Pundit Hariprasad Chaurasia as a tribute to his dear friend Shiv Kumar Sharma. Hence the name Shiv-Anjali. It was only performed once at Stuttgart when Shiv Kumar Sharma was in the audience. It has not been recorded in a studio or performed since..........

Like the cosmic bond between Lord Vishnu and Lord Shiva is the blessed friendship between the maestros Pandit Shiv Kumar Sharma and Pandit Hari Prasad Chaurasia. This raga composed by Hari-ji ('Shivaanjali', i.e tribute to 'Shiva') as a tribute to Shiv-ji is testament to this enduring affinity between Shiv-Hari, two of the greatest maestros of classical music to walk in the mortal world.

I will never forget Rumtek monastery, 1997. The Tibetan monks of the Kagyu-Pa sect held a week-long festival summoning Guru Padmasamphava. The oboes, the gongs, the damaru hand-held drums, the bells and the chanting all day, every day until sunset. We sat in the corner of the main hall, listening to the prayer cycles all day every day. What an experience....

Shivanjali is a very serene melody with the touch of coolness of a moon lit night. Shivanjali is a combination of two raags- Malkaunsh and Jog Kaunsh. It will be more appropriate to call it a late night melody ( ratri ka aakhari prahar ) and i think it will be fitness of things if the the back drop is changed from a golden glow of a dawn on a mountain peak to a silver shine of a full moon on lake water. Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia ji has brought out the inner beauty of this raag in all its splendor and i therefore suggest this raag Shivanjali needs to be heard by all music lovers again and again.

Loved Hariprasad Chaurasia ever since I asked to "buy a cassette of the classical Indian music you are playign" from a shopkeeper in the little Rajasthani pilgramge town of Pushka back in 1991. Do so wish I could get that very same 'album' or recording on CD but not sure what it is called. Very mellow and laid back (night time raags?), I used to drift off to sleep to its sweet sounds and the smel of hand-rolled sandlewood incense in my little room on the roof of the temple by the holy lake.

Oh! It's amazing. It's extraordinary gift from god. Like as hearing classical music I charmed. I lost my soul in the nature. Then I found real world. Thanks god, thanks Hariprasad chaurishia.

You repeat what you've been taught by man. Your soul knows you're in a false religion filled with idols & images that are man-made. Your statues have no power or concern. Your prayers are wasted on mounds of clay. God said he will not allow idol worshipers into heaven, so, repent, for God loves you with an everlasting love & doesn't want to lose one soul.
