An easy crock pot London broil recipe that produces a fork-tender, fabulous beef roast with built-in gravy your whole family will love!
This London broil slow cooker or London broil crock pot recipe uses a fairly lean cut of beef roast or steak (London broil or top round) slow cooked on high or low so you end up with a very tender, flavorful meat that pairs well with rice, pasta, mashed potatoes, and vegetables.
The built-in gravy is an added plus - the fried onions breaking down, adding flavor, and thickening the broth.
A quick-to-prepare, no fuss, slow cooker London broil that you can prep in 5 minutes and forget until it's done in 4 hours on high or 6 hours on low.

Off the hook! Best roast my family has had in years. Perfect. Sure glad I came upon this recipe by accident. Show some more of your recipes please! Just saying. My wife absolutely loved it as much as me.
Thank you for your kind words, Jon! I am working on some new videos to post very soon. So encouraged to push through and make it happen sooner rather than later. Make sure to subscribe to know when new videos are added - Stay tuned!
Looks amazing! I just bought a London Broil-and thought I made a mistake buying it because all the recipes showed it rare. I was worried about how to cook it so we would enjoy it-we hate rare! This showed up on my feed!
Going to cook it tomorrow!
I hope you love it, Debbie!
Thanks, I'll try tonight. And your recipe page is educational about london broil. I bought 4 for $4 each from a local store but never made this cut before. Thanks
Excellent! Let me know how it turns out!
I am definitely going to do this. Thank you. Looks way way better than my attempt at using my sous vide for London broil
This looks delicious! I am going to try this recipe!
I'm making this tomorrow! Yummy! Ty from central Florida! ❤
Great video! Thanks for sharing. I dig the music too. Good choice.
Thank you, I like simple and easy
I hear ya! Hope you love it Jeff!
I have it on low, only didn’t have but oregano and fresh diced onions. Looks delicious. So thank you 😊 Happy Mother’s Day 💐
Hope you enjoyed! Thanks for stopping by!
I make London Broil in the Slow Cooker too. But this time I'm going to use the ingredients you use.
Thank you.👍👍
Awesome! Let me know how yours turns out!
Trying this tonight!
Oh my god that looks delicious
Nicely done!
About to try this tomorrow. I'll update with how it turns out!
Update: On high for 4.5hrs not tender enough. 5hrs and on were good on high. Lacked a lot of flavor but just enough my wife didn't complain. Overall a success. Thanks! Mississippi pot roast is next!
At 4.5 hours was it at least done enough to slice and serve? Or is that 5 and onwards?
This is pot roast not LB.
@Robert Lombardo more than enough to slice and serve.
Im going to try your recipe. I don't know why my london broil always comes out dry and tough to chew. But, I'm gonna do it again. Thank you for sharing! Your vid was easy peazy.
This was amazing. Thank you!
So glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for letting me know!
Thanks for the recipe idea
You're welcome!
I’ve been doing this for a while spicy the way my dad does, gonna try a mix of both soon!
Sounds good! We like spicy here too!
Turned out great, thanks!
Awesome!
Looks good!!
Thanks!
I'm using the recipe today.
Awesome Laticia!
Thank you for sharing mines in the crock pot at 7 am.
Awesome - Hope it turns out fabulous!
Thanks for the recipe! Its in the crock pot. Hope it turns out. I just used regular diced onions though as I didint have those yummy ones you used.
Great!
Gonna give this a try for the built in gravy. Stew it with some carrots and potatoes and serve it up with rice!
Awesome - let me know how yours turns out!

It was amazing. Very savory and thick, after a bit of reduction and some flour and cornstarch.
Good video, I was looking for an easy way to fix the London broil meat .Thank you for giving a crockpot recipe----- I am lazy when it comes to cooking!
I'm lazy too! Love shortcuts!
This is pot roast not LB. There are better cuts for PR.
Thank you for showing your method. I like how simple it is compared to others. Usually the straight forward no nonsense method is the best one and you don't need a bunch of fancy cookware or oven/grill to get it done. I also noticed you can cut yours with a fork. Others I have seen they needed to use a knife to slice it. Long story short I bought a 2 pound London Broil tonight because it was on sale and a good price having no idea how to cook it. I knew I could resort to my standard Weber charcoal grill method I use for making all other steaks if I couldn't find anything on RUclips. Going to give this a try.....thanks once again.
Hope yours turns out amazing John! Let me know!
Lol. LB isn’t a cut. It’s a method.
Hi, I have a 3 lb. roast. Would you increase the proportion by 1? Ex.: 3 tbs. of oil, 2 tsp of the thyme & marjoram, etc.? Also, how much of an increase to the cook time? Thanks!
Sorry for the delay in responding to your question, Robbie. Yes, I would add extra of everything, as you mentioned. The cook time may or may not be affected, but go on the high end of the cook time and make sure that it's fork tender before considering it done. Hope that helps!
How do you make the beef gravy? Looks bomb!
The gravy makes itself due to the fried onions (which are breaded). You can find the full recipe here - www.savorywithsoul.com/london-broil-crock-pot/ Enjoy!
It looks so fall apart tender, but I need to ask if it is a "dry" kind of tender? When I use the Instant Pot it comes out fall apart tender, but the meat is dry and you chew it for a long long time. It makes it not all that pleasant :)
Peter - I don't think this roast is the "dry kind of tender." It's cooked slowly in the crock pot and has a nice amount of liquid. I think you'll be happy with how it turns out.
I know this is a while ago but have a question, have you ever seared before crockpot?
Yes, you could certainly do that! I didn't for simplicity's sake, but if you want to take the time I'm sure it would turn out fabulous!
Did you do anything extra to get the gravy to set like that?
No, the broth thickens as it cooks due to the fried onions (they are coated with a flour seasoning - thus, the thickening agent similar to when making gravy). Hope that helps!
How much of ingredients please 😊
Did she say chicken stock can be used as well?
Yes
Could this be made with beef broth as well. Or just chicken.
Yes definitely!
Did all that gravy come from the crockpot or did you make it separate? I'm making this recipe tomorrow with bacon sauteed green beans. Thx for the video btw. Charlie
Charlie - The gravy comes together by itself in the crockpot. The broth plus the fried onions (which have a flour coating) creates a thick, flavorful gravy! Hope you love it!
Alrighty then. Thank you.@@savorywithsoul1946
Do i have to thaw my london broil? Or can i just toss it in while frozen?
I would thaw it first, at least most of the way.
Can you do this like a chuck roast w/ onions and taters?
I don't see why not - give it a go!
looks great but honestly does it loosen the goose immediately?
Not sure what you mean ...
@@savorywithsoul1946
He means does it make you have to poop shortly after eating it?! Lol
I'm not a very good cook yet, but I have a vast vocabulary!
😄
Omg 😂😱😂😊
Hi. The meat looks so good! Also I’m sorry to say that I didn’t like the music and it was as loud as your voice so I found it annoying. New subscriber.
Thanks for letting me know - I'm new to this :D
Why bot season the meat with your ingredients properly before putting into the slow cooker?
I like simple, and it turns out amazing!
Please, you gotta dry rub it, let it sit 20 mins. Then sear all sides, first
Would cooking the London broil from frozen cause it to remain dry after it's cooked for 8 hours on low.. I didn't use this recipe (but I will next time) 😢😒 Flavor is good just chewy meat 😢😢😢😢
Yes, that could definitely cause the meat to be tough. I would thaw your meat first.
If it’s cooked this way, it’s not a LB. LB is a method, not a cut!
This is pot roast, not London Broil!
