Amazing! I'm definitely a die hard 3.8 guy, I've had two regular 3.8 grand prix and currently now have a SC 3800 GTP, been absolutely dying to drop one of these in a Fiero GT myself. Yours is incredible, love the hood work that shows it, kudos!

I've been a Fiero fan since they first came out in 84. (I was in college then) I had an 84 fiero in 84. Then I bought 85 GT, Two 86 GT's, an 87 GT, then I bought a New Formula, Then an 88 GT in 89 because the 88's sold out before I could get a new one. Then I ended up buying 3 more GT's. Sold my last one 10 years ago. Never had more than two at a time. Always wanted to do a project like you've done. I've also had 3 corvettes. 79 before I got my first Fiero. Then a 92 in 95.
Then 2005 in 2008. Believe it or not I've always liked my GT Fiero's more than my corvettes. Even though I enjoyed the speed of the Corvettes I always wished the Fiero could have had similar performance. Thats why I researched all the engine swaps. I even drove down to the Fiero factory to talk about it. I sold one of my GT's to the owner. The Fiero was always on the installment plan from day one. Engine then suspensions. Even the wheels. Anyway you've created my dream Fiero!!! Its Awesome!!! I'm 62 now and I think I'm going to start looking for another GT.

Thanks for sharing your story! Every carshow I visit with the Fiero, I’m usually the only Fiero that people have seen for a very long time, and they tell me it’s the “cleanest and nicest Fiero” that they’ve seen. I usually see several Corvettes, Mustangs, Camaros, and Mopar vehicles, but being the only Fiero helps it stand out in the crowd.
I love this little car, and the story behind it, and how it prevailed despite GM doing their best to keep it from being everything it coulda been. The success of the C8 Corvette shows what the Fiero could have been 30 years ago had GM corporate politics not hamstrung the Fiero.
My Fiero GT is my interpretation of what the Fiero should’ve and could’ve been had the designers and engineers been allowed to do what they wanted to do.
I recommend you check out my other video from the Fiero 40th with Cheri Alexander:

I was driving my 1987 Fiero 2M6 SE Notchback Silver, sunroof, full body kit with large spoiler 2.8l v6 4 speed and 76k miles. I purchased it for $1,800 in 1993 and I sold it for the same $1,8000 to another student in 1998 after high school. It was AMAZING I LOVE IT STILL, now at 40 years old I have a Yellow 1988 GT T-Top, I just swapped my 56k mile 2.8l with a new crate 3.8l Supercharged making 475HP to a 6 speed transmission. It's not your mom's Fiero that's for sure, It is scary fast. Hello from Colorado

Hey That Guy, I’m responding to your year old post because your impressive ride grabbed my attention. Give yourself a pat on the back because cyber technology is still too primitive to allow me to do it myself…plus from my experience nobody else cares enough to do it. I’ve owned my 2002 GTP sedan since new. My daily driver’s have always been performance oriented because I think driving should deliver enough performance to break the boredom of driving every day, especially if it involves the depressive task of moving forward a few feet then stop and wait for a few minutes then repeat the process for at least 10 miles on a good day. Even more on the special days when it allows you to reflect on what the hell are you doing this for. Thoughts of being on the lake.. any lake will do just fine as early morning dew starts to burn off. Then the answer to my question about why becomes clear again. It’s required because of the need to eat every day, and do it comfortably with a roof over my head… and the beat goes on…. Sorry about the rant man. But my car is always a reminder of the daily commute into Atlanta every day from 35 miles away. Far enough to stay clear of the madness of any big city.
Now for the other reason I stopped to admire your workmanship is the name Marianna. My entire family roots are planted in Jackson County, down the road from you in Sneads. I’ve been retired for a while and the thought about moving down your way keeps popping up more often these days. It’s not like something down there is calling me for any particular reason. It would be more convenient when the time comes because the whole family is patiently waiting for me to join the party in the Millspring Cemetery 😳. I’m not in that big of a hurry. I’ve got plenty of automotive projects to complete with time to check out my performance at the drag strip.
My last thoughts about your cool ride is how well it must do overall because from the way it looks, your car must be much lighter than a production GTP. A nice advantage with the better power to weight ratio. My car even the components I installed from ZZP, probably won’t ever set any earth shattering records. The mods did make an improvement that can be felt with the butt dyno. The best quarter et was a less than impressive 13.99. But I’ve got a cure for lousy performance. My project is a 1970 Mach 1 Mustang with a warmed up 351 C I built mostly from parts from the Pro Stock Ford glory days when they dominated the class with multiple wins and world championships for a couple of years. Should be fun if I can ever manage to get the new transmission needed for the high power and abuse on the track.
Damn man 🤷‍♂️so sorry. I didn’t intend on writing you a book. Nice ride you built, my friend. 🏁
      😮

I think the Fiero is an underated car. Maybe because of the engines it used, the Iron Duke 2.5L I4 was underpowered, less than 100hp (95hp if I'm right), even the 2.8L V6. Some guys made swaps to better engines with the proper power this car always deserved

Yes, but that is what the GM brass was afraid of. The Fiero was starting to make the Vette look bad. And when they say what Pontiac had planned for the next model, they got it axed before it could happen.

It sucks that Pontiac killed the Fiero in 1988. After GM worked out all the bugs they discontinued it. But the second generation Fiero would have gotten a lot more power. Maybe a supercharged 3800 would be great.

I found the side-scoops on EBay. They were produced by “Fiero Fiberglass” but the company stopped production years ago. A group of enthusiasts in Europe have bought the molds and started producing them again. Google “Fiero side-scoops” and you’ll find them.
