This lady clearly doesn't understand this car. It's not a more sporty civic. It's a manual transmission, lightweight hot hatch with a superb chassis, steering and a limited slip differential. It's about how it feels to be driven, the smile on your face, how you can toss into corners. The fact she never even mentioned the shift light means that she definitely didn't drive it the way it's supposed to be driven. She reviewed it as if it was a Camry.
It's an absolutely fantastic car. The problem is it's $5,000 more than it was just slightly over 3 years ago. The value proposition is swiftly waning. Honda listen up and also put a manual back in the normal Civic Sport that you just took it away from.
@Honda really needs to crank up the horsepower and torque on this car. It's been far too long that the MK8 Golf GTI with the last manual transmission for its 2024MY at 243hp, the Jetta GLI with its secondary refresh now still at 228hp and the out going Forte GT with 201hp and 195lb-ft of tq with its manual transmission have been tearing Honda up. Yes, the Civic Si was never about horsepower wars like the S550/S650 gen Mustangs, Alpha platform 5th/6th gen Camaros and the LX platform Challenger and Charger brothers, but in all honesty, the Civic Si really needs to be pushing 230-240hp like the AP1 and AP2 S2000s used to be and give it at least 215-225lb-ft of tq to be the true second most powerful Civic in the lineup over the Civic Hybrid and over its competition now that the MK8.5 Golf GTI is only DCT for the 2025MY (and the 2026MY) as this will be the final gen Golf cars ever built including the MK8.5 Golf R too, the secondary refresh Jetta GLI, and the new Kia K4. Staying stagnant at 200hp and 192lb-ft of tq is not a good look for Honda themselves and the Civic Si community. I get it. You can modify it if you want more power, but why ruin the warranty when it should come heavily performed out of the assembly plant line with the warranty?
@@ebmk96 Yes you do. If you’re driving hard you’ll be spinning your inside front tire every time you try to accelerate leaving a corner. It’s not a debate it’s called physics. There’s a good reason for the Si, Type R, Type S, Elantra N, GTI and GLI all have some type of limited slip differential.
@@dustinr16 No, you don't. The cars you mentioned are track specific. There's no hatchback at this price point that's going to do that. See the outgoing 2024 Honda Civic Sport Touring Hatchback 6spd MT. It's not a track car and neither is my 2024 Mazda3 Premium Hatchback 6spd MT. I can still beat an SI zero to sixty. These cars can be just as fun as a daily or canyon carving. The reality is what you're talking about very few people will notice since they won't track their SIs They will urban hooligan it, but won't be trying to hit apexes at the track. Don't need LSD. That's called marketing vs reality.
It’s way smaller than the accord. You people just look for random things to hate on. The size is great and can comfortably fit passengers now. Cars should definitely have grown this way. Still smaller than most cars on the road. Go buy a Mini Cooper.

I think the type R has more potential . I be seen fl5 doing 500hp. The civic SI blown engine within 250hp limit . If you looking for a. Daily driver this should be a perfect match.
Not at all. 11th gen SIs are making solidly reliable 260-270 with a modest tune and the right supporting mods with multiple well documented 300+ and into 330 range for TSPs shop car. That being said, the clutches days are number once you cross 220-230 driver depending

Civic Si: Tough to beat as an all-rounder.
Another great review.
The new mx 6 Miata awesome.
I was wondering if anyone else caught that.
Nothing compares to the MX-6 💪🏼
Honda, thank you for offering the 6speed! Now do it in the regular Civic!
Why? Its a civic u going to the traxk? U going to the twisties with a fwd lol calm down ricer boy
Just buy an Si if you want a manual. No one is buying a manual in a regular Civic these days…hence them not offering it.
Most people don't want a manual
@@peiwu979 Not happening. Hybrid killed it.
Ain't happening when you have to move units out.
The Honda Civic SI on my short list of cars to buy. I am a larger/older person so I really wish honda made an Accord SI.
I don’t mind it being a sedan, it’s not like you lose much. I mean, a hatch can be useful, but I can make do with a bit less vertical storage.
The Si should have been based on the hatchback.

My 2024 Mazda3 Premium Hatchback 6spd MT is the BOMB! Smooth as butter and ONLY 9 hp less than the Si. Same manual as the MX-5/Miata
But no limited slip differential. Need it on a FWD car.

I agree on the bronzed wheels idea. They would look great on these cars.

they made it so big it’s an Accord now. cars should not grow this way.

As a owner of a 2013 Si, I might just stick with a hybrid civic for my next car. It's just not worth it anymore, unless you jump into the Type R
