Jeff Gordon grabs his first win of 2015 at Martinsville Speedway and punches his ticket into the Championship 4 in the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup.
Hearing the crowd after this man was hated and relentlessly booed more then any other driver in the 90s and early 00s is so refreshing. It just goes to show you how much respect people give drivers toward the end of their careers. Who knows how many years he has left, but the same thing is currently happening to Jimmie Johnson. It really puts things into perspective.
Watching this finish was so emotional. Never been a Gordon fan but I was sitting there shouting "COME ON JEFF!!" as they came around for that last lap.
+Oscar “the Aventador lp750 sv” Tobar when I was watching I was just cheering, but I did get a bit misty eyed when they shined the lights from the flag tower on his lone car at the finish line, that was an amazing moment 1:42
im I the only one who had some tears start forming when you saw that. I know I did. jeff you deserve it and hope you win the championship. hats off to you:)
I still get chills everytime I hear Alan Gustafson talk about Homestead. Man I wish I could have been at this race. I don't follow it much anymore, but Gordon was and still is my favorite driver to this day.
I still miss watching Jeff. Watched him his whole career. Spent many a Sunday cheering him on. I lost interest when he retired. Still like watching these old videos! Greatest of all time.
Yeah that goes to show you how biased NASCAR is towards certain drivers. I think it's very pathetic tbh. I wouldn't put it past NASCAR to tell McMurray to back off so Gordon could win. I know for a fact they wasn't going to let a driver that wasn't in the chase win a race. They think it would make them look bad but it doesn't take much to do that.
Im from Sweden love F1 and that kind of racing but you guys over the sea sure know how to put on a damn good show. Boogity Boogity lets go racing boys!!!! 24 and 88 my friends
Even watching almost two years after it happened, I still get teared up when I see this being that Jeff was my favorite driver and childhood hero. This was such a great day and great win. I still remember being so pumped up and full of excitement when he crossed the start-finish line and it was official. Great finish.
It's funny, seeing him win all the time in the late 90's and early 2000's kind of got annoying, but now it's a totally different feeling and it leaves you a little nostalgic of the past and what nascar used to be. Even though I wasn't a huge fan of him then, I've rooted for him the last 5 to 6 years or so because he's one of the few drivers left that reminds me of the good days of nascar. Nascar just won't be the same once he retires.
As a lifelong Gordon fan, this will always be my favorite finish of any racing series. I grew up with him and this was the perfect sendoff for my childhood hero.
Growing up watching Gordon as my #1 driver and hearing the crowd boo to basically cheering him on is one of the best feelings because he definitely earned that. One hell of a racer. #24ever
Looking back at this amazing moment and knowing that Jimmie will never get anything even close to it in his final season is incredibly depressing. I am really sad right now.
This is just so special. I'm happy as a fan and so incredibly happy for Jeff. This season has been so rough and for all that he's accomplished and done for the sport he just deserved to end on a high note. How amazing that no matter what happens we are guaranted a finish of no worse than 4th in the points. Ya know it seemed weeks ago there was the very real possiblity he was going to miss the Chase altogether and maybe end up with the worst points finish of his career. I am just so happy we're in the position we're in now. And to see him celebrate with his team and family; it was honestly downright heart-warming. Hard not to get emotional.
+Matt Tischer i cant describe how great i felt after seeing this, even if he doesnt win title ( i dont think he will tbh ) this win is enough for his retirement season
i CRIED, SCREAMED AND JUST was happy... Hubby was , well it was priceless.. He has been a fan and still is since he started. When all his friends likes Sr he stuck with Gordon ~
What a day! What a day!! I waited all year for this! Awesome job, Jeff! You definitely earned this. We're going to Homestead! #drive4five1moretime #Kensethsmyhero #rainbowwarriors
I was so happy for Jeff. I damn near shed some tears. I true legend in Nascar history. The love he gets from the fans at every venue he goes to is so awesome to see. How can he hold back the tears?
And now Jimmie is eliminated from the play offs welp. 😢😢. Still I wish that a Jimmie fan pull a Jeff Gordon and get a win at this track and at least go out with a win in 2020.
I had always been a Gordon fan since I got into NASCAR. Seeing him win one last time is something I’ll never forget. I always gets chills when he says “We’re going to Homestead!” Too bad he didn’t win the championship, but he had a long lasting career and I’m proud to have watched n he ups and downs. P.S: After Gordon retired, I decided to follow his teammate Jimmie Johnson for a few years until he retired. Again, saw some ups with the 2016 championship, and downs with the 2018 Charlotte Roval Race (It is a heck of a finish tho from a neutral perspective). I ended up coming back to 24 roots and started following Chase Elliott who I’m still enjoying to this day. However, Jeff Gordon will always be number one for me! P.P.S: Yes I know Byron drives the 24 now and I like playing with the car, but Chase Elliott was the one who was the first one after Jeff Gordon to drive the #24 car. I also got some Bill Elliott souvenirs from a family friend so I have another reason to cheer for his son.
I've never been a Gordon fan, but this makes me smile. Seeing a legend go out on top is something amazing. If he wins the title, I won't be made. I'll be very happy for him.
Words cannot describe how happy seeing Jeff Gordon win this race made me feel. I don't cry very often. But, I did on this day. I've been a fan of Gordon since 1998 (6 years old). "I call him the G.O.A.T. of NASCAR, the greatest of all-time." -Darrell Waltrip
I'm a Dale Jr. fan, but I really enjoyed seeing Jeff win this race and advance to the 2015 Championship 4. I just wish he'd won the championship that year - it would've been fitting for a racing legend who's also a class act on and off the track.
Gordon fan since I started watching Nascar around 2001, it’s still crazy to see how Gordon went from the most hated man in Nascar, getting beer cans chucked at his car when he won in Talladega, to getting a roaring response when he won his final race in Martinsville. I don’t know if it was Jr become his teammate, time breeding respect, Johnson superseding him, not sure…
Once Gordon announced his retirement prior to the 2015 season I decided I was going to buy tickets to a race that I thought he had the best chances of winning. Glad to say that I chose the right one!
+Crashbfan 65 So there was nothing wrong with Kyle Busch winning for straight races after coming back from injury? Or there was nothing wrong with Logano sweeping round two?
when I watch this video I turn the volume down and pretend he is winning his 7th winston cup title and the year is 2014... you know why? because thats what would have happened if nascar had not thrown integrity out the window...and guess what? im not a Gordon fan just giving facts
For all the idiots that thought that this was rigged, consider this. Brad Keselowski, Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth, and Joey Logano would have been able to give Jeff a run for his money. Brad Keselowski deliberately turned into Kenseth to take him out, and Busch wound up with damage as an innocent bystander. Joey Logano would have probably won, had not Matt Kenseth get his revenge on Logano for spinning him out at Kansas and costing him a shot at the title. Jeff Gordon raced clean and got the win because of it.
Gordon climbing out of the car at the s/f line and the celebration afterward will go down as one of my favorite NASCAR moments.
+Jefferson Lambert I think it will go down in NASCAR history as one of the best feel-good moments of the sport, right up there with Sr's 500 win.
+Noah Coleman What about Dale Jr in the 2001 Pepsi 400
***** Good one too.
0:45
Amy Rose: That was awesome!
Jeff Gordon: Yeah baby!
me being a gordon fan since I was 4, i have never seen him this pumped up and excited in my entire life. go win Miami jeff
If you didn't smile at this, then you're not a true NASCAR fan.
#DriveforFive #24ever
SHUT UP GORDON CHEATED
+Crashbfan 65 Real mature reaction there bud.
+Crashbfan 65 How old are you 8? XD
He sure acts like it.
Grilmour
Yep he hasn't responded because he knows hes a angry butthurt kid.
Literally the best race of the year. Gordon winning was the icing on the cake.
It's about damn time, lol.
Many years later. Considered one of the best of all times in my mind
This is going to go down as one of the most popular wins of all time
Jeff and Joey each got what they deserved, go 24
22 dislikes I wonder why
Watching this finish was so emotional. Never been a Gordon fan but I was sitting there shouting "COME ON JEFF!!" as they came around for that last lap.
This will probably go down in history as one of the greatest wins ever, by any driver.
2000 Dale Earnhardt sr at Talladega
1985 Bill Elliot at Talladega
2001 Pepsi 400 Dale jr
Maybe 2018 Watkins Glen
I cried of joy man! I'm so happy! and I'm the only one that done that?
+coast to coast am I am still overexcited
I wont iie i balled like a baby

+Oscar “the Aventador lp750 sv” Tobar I was in the turn 1 grandstand. I just lost it after he cleared McMurray.
+Darren Ayotte I wish I was there to see that
im I the only one who had some tears start forming when you saw that. I know I did. jeff you deserve it and hope you win the championship. hats off to you:)
You was not alone at all.
Even if he doesn't win the title(which I hope he does), and even if he has 93 victories, in my opinion I think this one cements his legacy.
Quite possibly my favourite race I've ever watched. Perfect in every way.
every time I watched this I get tears in my eyes
The only thing I didn't like about this is poor Jamie McMurray gets a runner-up finish and doesn't even get an interview.
Cotil3Boy47
Last year, Jr and Johnson won after they were eliminated.
Actually if you listen closely towards the end of this video you can hear them interviewing Jamie.
+Nicky DeGirolamo Thank You AJ LEE I am a sasha banks namoi paige guy exactly its just racing Jamie had a chance but Jeff had a better car thats it
+Hunter Smith this is racing not wwe
This is gonna be the feel-good win of the season. 24ever

I don't care if he didn't win title this was still a good way to go out
What a cool moment, even as a Keselowski fan. Congrats 24 fans, enjoy it. He's earned it.
2 years later and I still can't stop watching this, Jeff was the man
Growing up watching Gordon as my #1 driver and hearing the crowd boo to basically cheering him on is one of the best feelings because he definitely earned that. One hell of a racer. #24ever
Looking back at this amazing moment and knowing that Jimmie will never get anything even close to it in his final season is incredibly depressing. I am really sad right now.
At least he was able to do this and finish the deal, but this win was something special
Going on to a decade ago and I’m still thankful to have seen this take place. And still thanking Matt kenson A LOT!!!!!!
The last 40 laps i was pacing the living room i was too excited to sit down.
24EVER
I'm Super Happy for Jeff. Much Deserved!!! That's Right, coming from a Rowdy Fan. #Go24 and #Go18!
This is just so special. I'm happy as a fan and so incredibly happy for Jeff. I got to watch Gordon from the start of his career to the end and it was awesome being a Gordon fan.
only a Logano fan could possibly dislike this video xD
+Crashbfan 65 um.. ok
+MegaMr46 Nah, I'm a BRad fan and I'm glad Joey got taken out.
+MegaMr46 Nah, I'm a BRad fan and I'm glad Joey got taken out.
But this video has no relation to Logano, it's about Jeff Gordon dipshit

+Crashbfan 65 Ha another butthurt hater.
+Noah Coleman You forgot #thedriveforfiveisstillalive
The DRIVE FOR FIVE is ALIVE AND WELL!!!
2015 was jeff's last season in nascar
One of the few things on TV that made me cry.
What. A. Popular. Win. #24ever
Gordon should’ve won the championship that year. It would’ve been a great send off.
Nearly 3 years later and I still get goosebumps from watching this.
Yessssss! GO Jeff.
And F the haters.
3 years later I still cried
I was so happy for Jeff. I damn near shed some tears. I true legend in Nascar history. The love he gets from the fans at every venue he goes to is so awesome to see. How can he hold back the tears?
This and Jimmies 2016 Homestead win give me Chills, I miss those days. SO much
And now Jimmie is eliminated from the play offs welp. 😢😢. Still I wish that a Jimmie fan pull a Jeff Gordon and get a win at this track and at least go out with a win in 2020.
I fell in love with NASCAR again after watching this race

GO GORDON
Oh boy, here comes the waterworks......
I've never been a Gordon fan, but this makes me smile. Seeing a legend go out on top is something amazing. If he wins the title, I won't be made. I'll be very happy for him.
I get chocked up watching this. I am not even a Gordon fan and after the restart I was screaming Go Gordon Go and I cried when he won.
one of the best moments in nascar history
Words cannot describe how happy seeing Jeff Gordon win this race made me feel. I don't cry very often. But, I did on this day. I've been a fan of Gordon since 1998 (6 years old). "I call him the G.O.A.T. of NASCAR, the greatest of all-time." -Darrell Waltrip
One of my all time favorite Jeff Gordon wins
William Byron Just Got The #24 Back in Victory Lane Tonight
That moment when you realize that his crew chief told him to burn it down but he did no burnout
Aw, I think we can afford to overlook that in this situation.
😀 Gordon’s last win ! Was never a Gordon fan growing up but I was happy to see him go out on a positive note
This moment will always make me cry
God I miss watching him. after 20+years of watching, I now feel.... empty when I watch.
I've personally never been a Jeff Gordon guy, but I got serious goosebumps from watching this. Go Jeff!!
chills every time I watch this
Thank you NASCAR for not cutting the restart or the celebration.
93 wins, unbelievable. Only two drivers have more. What a career!
Jeff Gordon vc pra mim sempre foi meu ídolo da nascar sou fã de você desde que eu era criança
I bawled my eyes out when he took the checkered flag. knowing what possibly may be his final win came at "his house", it was just so fitting.
been a Gordon fan my whole life. This win brought a tear to my eye. Go out on top Jeffy you got this
I'm a Dale Jr. fan, but I really enjoyed seeing Jeff win this race and advance to the 2015 Championship 4. I just wish he'd won the championship that year - it would've been fitting for a racing legend who's also a class act on and off the track.
Jr. Was Fucked over by NASCAR in 2015
His last win of his career was this one sadly. Jeff you will be missed. Congrats on 4 championships and 93 wins. You changed NASCAR. #24EVER #RE24ECT
That'd be so amazing if He won that damn Homested Race :)
Did anyone else cry watching this
Gordon fan since I started watching Nascar around 2001, it’s still crazy to see how Gordon went from the most hated man in Nascar, getting beer cans chucked at his car when he won in Talladega, to getting a roaring response when he won his final race in Martinsville. Favorite nascar race of all time
Fighting & Diggin Boys!
That's What We Do!
I am not a Jeff Gordon fan but the last lap of this race I was screaming go Gordon go. I wanted to see him win so bad.
and 5 years to the day, Chase Elliott in the same car wins his way into the Championship 4
HUGE congrats to Jeff Gordon and his team on this big win! A well deserved victory for the #24.
I bet he goes all the way
I can't believe as a previous Gordon fan I missed this.
If I ever need to put a smile on my face I come back and watch this video.
It was either Gordon or Johnson and I'm glad he picked this one up.
I just got that feeling that day that "this is his last win, this is it right here" I just knew
And he's back this year!!!
Ironic that he qualified for the Homestead finale in his last season, as the Chase format shafted him out of at least three more titles.
Victory Lane was insane, so were the fans! #24ever
Who says we add lights to Martinsville? Btw congrats Jeff, I'll look forward to Kyle competing against you in Miami.
+Crashbfan 65 Jamie will never win
+KyleBuschPackFan Fuck no. Too many tracks with night races already. Don't give them an incentive to add one there too.
+Crashbfan 65 So there was nothing wrong with Kyle Busch winning for straight races after coming back from injury? Or there was nothing wrong with Logano sweeping round two?
+NASCAR Built Ford Tough Cup series I agree wholeheartedly.
+Crashbfan 65 you don't know how dumb you sound right now, and on all of your other comments.
Go Jamie! 2018 has been a dud, but your still my driver.
I was very proud to be at this race.
I cried then, still tear up over a year later. #24ever
#thedrivefor5. Great race, what an amazing final year for Gordon. Win it at Homestead, 11/22/2015.
I am a Jimmie Johnson fan, but Jeff is probaly one of da best Nascar drivers.
It's finally here Jeff's first win of 2015
The Man. The Myth. The Legend #24
when I watch this video I turn the volume down and pretend he is winning his 7th winston cup title and the year is 2014... you know why? because thats what would have happened if nascar had not thrown integrity out the window...and guess what? im not a Gordon fan just giving facts
What moment, I was crying
I still don't know how i didn't cry tears of joy!!! :'D #24ever
