What the King of Spades said at the end was sad and realistic as soldiers in the army would want to be killed with a gun than dying a very slow and painful way. I felt he not only apologies to his friend but also to the players he killed as he thought it was the only way to save them(by putting them out of their misery as players of the boderland)
You can't shoot the final boss (or any boss) cuz if you do you can't finish the game, you fail.
This is the best episode of the show.

Ann discovers that "time" behaves strangely in Borderland. That is why vegetation grows so quickly. There it finally was, the answer she had been looking for.
Game/Episode 7 everyone was fighting for their lives, proving they wanted to live. Survival of the fittest was the K♠️ game. If you survived him, you deserve to live. JS

Ann's story was more about discovering the world they are in not so much in playing the games (remember she discovered that time flows differently and vegetation grows faster in this world as seen on the video arisu and usagi watched?). She also tried to see what's outside of Tokyo but only finds out that what's beyond is endless trail of mountians with no sight of any civilization, so to sum-up her story is not so much on the games but more on discovery.
Every girl on this show is cold and then there's Arisu lmao. I love him though, he's too smart to do this crazy shit. Y'all are funny as hell lmao

The King of Spades was not evil. He killed them to save them from the suffering in the Borderland. And he just did what everybody has to do in this world - playing games. He was the final boss of the physical challanges. Btw he was even more savage in the manga. He was more tactical, used a flamethrower and buried als corpses. And he had a tracker with the positions of every player. And got supplies like ammo and weapons from the blimp.
Ann definitely did her thing in the car chase of the first episode, don't do her like that 😭 Y’all so hilarious tho, love watching this will y’all.

I'm pretty sure king of spades has about as a big an on screen body count as the entire beach massacre. He killed several dozen people in the first episode, at least a couple dozen in this one, and took out that whole little car village in the episode where they found the film.
The action choreography still blows my mind

When you already know, the last episodes explained every questions that you guys got from this episode, and why all of these storyline and games looked its been set up to a certain guy in the story. Which is Arisu.
In the manga, chapter 49.1 it explains the king of spades' motives.

So King of Spades apology, MY THEORY, is that he was had been in the Borderlands (limbo) for generations. His way of freeing all those souls from the middle was to um…assist them to the other side.
honestly can't wait for your reaction to ep 8. I will say personally I was surprised by it & a little frustrated as well. Not sure how I feel about it possibly being the end or if I even want a season 3. 🤔 I will say that AIB S1 & S2 are in my top favorite shows of all time. I recommend it to others & like to watch others' reactions to it as well. Keep up the great reactions!!
I'd recommend reading the manga (because it's quite different from the adaptation) and there's two spin offs. One is just about one game Arisu plays in the future and the other one is a full fledged story in the borderland. They're called Alice in Borderland: Retry and Alice in Borderroad

LOL, you guys ever thought that if you killed Mira without playing her game, that nobody would be able to go home? In order to beat the game, you have to play the game...how you gonna play the game if the gamemaster is already dead, LMAO? Also, the King of Spades has a deeper backstory in the manga. Apparently, that guy he mercy killed in his flashback was his best friend, who was also the one who got him to take the mission that they both got ambushed in, leading to the King of Spades, mercy killing his best friend. There's more to it, but you get the gist.
We don't know how many players have died, but in the manga the player count for the Second Stage under the King of Spades game is 253, is the highest player participation count and has the highest death count for sure.

Tbh the only way I can see why naragi survived that is if the gun was loaded with rubber slugs they would still do hella damage but not kill you I need to go back and see if the shells were clear or not
Or maybe it was birdshot. Would hurt but not kill. Or the will to live in the Borderland after almost every game was cleared... that's also a possibility.
This possibly the best reaction of this episode I've seen, not for the fact that the jokes came thru hard, but also y'all commentaries really reflect all the criticism and opinions i have with the writing of the show. Specifically when it comes to Beef Jerky's redemption arc and its ridiculousness, besides the lazy writing of Ann (proving they failed to accommodate all the strong female characters in one package and make them properly written human beings). But overall, this episode hitms hard and seeing y'all sititng on the edge of them chairs during the fight, and how you all voiced very observant and sympathetic opinions to the fight had me entertained af. Keep watching shits and talking shits y'all!
Writing of the show? This is a adaptation of a Manga. And Ann was barely shown in the Manga. But because she was liked they gave her a bit more screentime. They can't just change the whole story to give Ann more character development. They also skipped alot stories from side characters. The Manga was definitely not just lazy writing.

And also just becausw they grant her some screentiem despite being a "side character" does not mean it's okay to not give her a more fulfilling arc considering how much they want to push the "strong women" agenda this season

As a mercenary, he thought he was saving them by killing them instead of putting them in the games...his game was the most direct. It was like seeing a wounded animal for him and he was taking them our of their misery.

Great episode. I had very similar reactions. Who is the MAIN character in this show? All I know its 2 seasons in and Arisu seems to timid put his big boy pants on. Dude, your GF should has shown more heart. You can tell the Director also does video games.
The story that CENTERS around the character are called the Main "Protagonist" which is Arisu bcs he's the integral part of the story. His name is literally the Japanese version of Alice, so basically he's a the "Titular" character as well if you actually understand the translations. But technically everyone that you would see frequently in the show or in the credits are the "main characters" not the central/ lead character like Arisu. There's a difference between a main protagonist and someone that steals the spotlight. I've seen protaganist that are bland as heck while the other main characters manages to captivate the audience more in this case Chishiya is "the one that steals the show" fan favorite. Not all protagonist are obligated to have high & mighty, exciting attributes. Everyone can be different . Lead protagonist can be as cowardly or as heroic as they can be. I really like that Arisu isn't all skilled in every areas and I admire people who are flawed compared to if they're perfect at everything all the time. But yea I do understand that the creators should've made him stand out more this season.
You'll know the next episode you gotta really pay attention you can miss alot it a long one

Man I love this show, but this was the dumbest episode i’ve ever watched in my life. King of spades gotta be the best soldier in earth history. Clears captain america easily. Bro started taking off his mask & vest & still took no basically no damage until the end with that weak explosion
His cloak was fireproof. Hows that dumb? Still was closer to reality than the average hollywood action movie. This is still a live action Manga. Of course it's not how it is in RL.
