As someone who has a Stinger GT, I'm very interested in this vehicle but not for buying unfortunately. The deal breaker is the range unfortunately. 200 miles/360 kms. That's with a brand new battery pack, fully charged. Drive in cold temperatures, drive enthusiastically, use the heater/AC etc and the range is even less. It will be like using my smartphone. Constantly and frequently plugging it in for recharging. I don't think I could handle that. For me, I would be going from filling up once a fortnight to plugging in multiple times a week.
@@davidmccarthy6061 If you like them for the instant torque party trick or the quietness (assuming you turn off the stupid fake engine noise) of the ride I get it. I've turned into a weirdly fanatic Polestar fan because of how much fun I have goofing off with it, but watching you cackle as you try to describe drifting around the track... I might have to try one of these out when it's time to replace my current vehicle.
How does that 80/20 torque split work in conjunction with the theoretical combined output of the two electric motors ? Full output can only be achieved with 50/50 split right ?
So how much if any of these upgraded suspension and cooling enhancements, got passed down to the regular non GT trims and in the Rear Wheel Drive trims? (for the 2023 model line)
As fun as this might sound, the ~200 mile range probably hurts this product more than it helps. Yeah you can drive it in batsh*t insane mode - but for how long before the batteries run out of juice? Yes it's still cheaper than its competition on paper but you know this is getting marked up to more like $80k. It's not worth it.
Your range is going to be even less when you remember LI batteries shouldn't be charged past 90% so you are looking at 180 miles of range. It's the same price as a model 3 performance but with almost 60% less range and similar performance. Granted I'm sure the Kia is built better and has more equipment. I've driven the 1st edition Kia and it was pretty solid something I can say with confidence is the model 3 wasn't as solid but still would rather take the slower gt line or wind AWD over the gt performance.
@@bigdi77 which model of the gt line? AWD or RWD? I drive 80 miles minimum in a day so the gt would not work for me at all. @@bigdi77 I think that summer range on the gt will be more like 220 at most going off of your summer range. Your only getting about 10% more than EPA. I don’t get it. This is a “grand touring” car, right? The point of it is going on road trips. But then the range is 200mi? How is it good for road trips?
I love the power, but the looks are ...ruff . The worsening QC and warranty denials dont help. ITs sad because they have pushed the tech and styles while some others are afraid too. Maybe they need to slow down and focus on the QC and customer service first. Its hard to get back the people you refused to help when your product fails.. especially early engine issues.
I’m convinced this is the best car KIA has ever produced. Having test driven the wind model, I was blown away. Spending 60K for a performer like this is nothing short of amazing. Well done Kia.
I looked up Mark’s career stats on Basketball Reference. Drafted in the 87th round, 2,784th overall from Kirkland Community College Games 14, Games started 0 2P FG: 4.3% 3P FG: 0.0% FT: 1 of 14 TO: 39 (93%) Wedgies: 6x Champion
While this car has impressive performance, and is a “bargain” compared to other performance EV’s. Let’s not pretend that $60K is cheap or affordable to most people. I long for the days where a decent performance car could be had for $30K brand new. My biggest problem with EV’s besides lack of driver involvement/ weight. Is the fact they are so damn expensive.
If government wasn't forcing the automakers hands on pushing EVs I don't think EVs would ever last long enough to justify the continued production. The cost is way too high for most people, and the used market is not viable either given the risk of battery replacement costs.
With Kia & Hyundai reliability issues and now the KIA REDACTED I would steer clear of this SUV or any of their vehicles until they fixe their issues and honor their warranties in a timely fashion. I feel bad saying that because I really like what both companies have done with car designs and the value propositions these vehicles offer but those points are moot if they aren't reliable.

Have a GT ordered with a lot of subject to clauses. If the Ioniq 5 N is revealed before my delivery date, and it is substantially better I may switch. My wife already has a Ioniq 5 AWD and she loves it. Find it a bit incomplete in the finish (hope that improves as more are produced) and it’s not fast enough for me. On Facebook there is a UK Ioniq 5 complaints/faults group, it’s very “boomer” group, but some complaints seem valid. To me, the biggest problem with the Ioniq 5 is the only just above average finish and some weird missing features that a European ICE car would have for the same price, making it expensive for what you get. Though the same complaint could be made about the Model 3 Performance, that I’ve driven, but could not live with (biggest problem being lack of HUD). At least the Ioniq 5 now has HUD in most trims.

A 2nd attempt at e-Golf called ID-Golf would be too logical. DENIED! Charge $30k more , e-tron e-RS 3!
Prius XSE phev. 220hp 6.6 sec 0-60.
"Mark couldn't make it because he's trying out for the Chicago Bulls."
Nice try Jack, but we all know Mark and Alex Caruso are the same person.
4:45 - 4:54 the most Product Manager thing ever said I'm dead 😂💀
As someone who has a Stinger GT, I'm very interested in this vehicle but not for buying unfortunately. The deal breaker is the range unfortunately. 200 miles/360 kms. That's with a brand new battery pack, fully charged. Drive in cold temperatures, drive enthusiastically, use the heater/AC etc and the range is even less.
It will be like using my smartphone. Constantly and frequently plugging it in for recharging. I don't think I could handle that. For me, I would be going from filling up once a fortnight to plugging in multiple times a week.
I doubt any EV can be compared to a Taycan for ride and handling. but how does this compare to i4M50? Btw, like the background Korean music.
🎵🎶 Can you hear my heaaart🎵🎵
🤣 nice touch guys
Don’t know why I’m watching this as I have no interest in EVs. But I’m happy to support this great channel.
EVs are the best invention since eggnog, but 99% of them are far beyond my budget.
@@davidmccarthy6061 If you like them for the instant torque party trick or the quietness (assuming you turn off the stupid fake engine noise) of the ride I get it. However, many favor them for being “green” which is far far less true than most realize. When you weigh the harvesting of battery minerals including mining and diesel powered equipment needed, cost and difficulty of battery recycling, coal needed for recharging, etc, they are less green than many small cars. The marketing folks have done a good job hiding the truth though.
I’d love to see a Savagegeese photography / videography special sharing their production techniques, equipment, and workflow.
I don’t really think that will ever happen but I’m new to photography and appreciating how much effort these guys are putting in solely on the production overhead.
Man, Mark has such a rich life outside of Savagegeese!
Ahh that jump shot was all I needed to see today.
Wow Mark, speedy recovery!
Does the steering wheel block the screen? What’s point having lovely screen curve. Would be better more open steering wheel
Excellent review! Hyundai / Kia is creating some awesome new products with the EV6 GT and the Ioniqs.
When I’m not huffing gas in my mom’s shed, I’m trolling EV reviews of cars that are legitimately better than the Neanderthal-like Dodge products that made America dumb and which I aspire to buy one day. If my mom lets me.
No one who looks to purchase this GT is cross shopping the Porsche. It’s a reasonably priced sport EV SUV that outperforms the petrol/gas performance SUV’s and is an alternative to Tesla.
I've turned into a weirdly fanatic Polestar fan because of how much fun I have goofing off with it, but watching you cackle as you try to describe drifting around the track... I might have to try one of these out when it's time to replace my current vehicle.
Why is the dashcam not available? It's installed but not an option?
How does that 80/20 torque split work in conjunction with the theoretical combined output of the two electric motors ? Full output can only be achieved with 50/50 split right ?
Good to see Jack getting in touch with his roots, hope the review was not biassed ....😆
I’m just here to say I’m happy to see another Patagonia certified review 🤘🏻
I love the warranty these batteries have! 10 year 100k miles is awesome.
If the NBA isn’t wise enough to scoop Mark up, there is room for egregious dunking on middle school teams or old school donut shops.
If you own a home or a condo it won’t be a problem.and if you drive normal I promise you can get more range. I am getting over 310 on my gt line
@@bigdi77 which model of the gt line? AWD or RWD? I drive 80 miles minimum in a day so the gt would not work for me at all. No going out of state as the closest non Tesla charger outside of the city is 240 miles away if I wanted to go to Nevada. Now my M3LR I have no such issues. There are way more Tesla charger on the roads when leaving to go to other states. Also Tesla has a much better rep for having functional chargers than every other brand.
@@aRANDOMqUICKIEgunsandfun I have the awd with the 20s on. the range is summer fall and spring range.right now I am getting 250 nomal mode with highway and a little back roads. I am thinking the gt should get about 240 range in the warmer season and in the cold season 190 range just a guess
@@bigdi77 I think that summer range on the gt will be more like 220 at most going off of your summer range. Your only getting about 10% more than EPA. These motor are much bigger this more weight and that's the enemy of range on EV's. Your winter range is also a 10% deficiency on the EPA range so I think 180 is a better guess. Not range figures that really encourage driving across states. This is more of a fun second car and not a good primary car.
Great video. I have a sports car for sports car things, so this appeals to me. It has enough sporty features to still be fun, but I can tone it down when I need to.
Mark on that riding the pine tip 🤭
I'd like to see more comparisons against ICE cars with similar prices. Most channels featuring EVs only do EV to EV comparisons.
ICE cars will be dead in 10 years bro. Make the change!
@@Boltbacker83 I think it would either help people make a change or reinforce their resistance to change, depending on the car. I fully believe in EVs, however, and think that if people have all the information to make an educated decision, they will more often prefer EVs.
The fresh air and sporting activity makes Mr Goose look young. Great short take video with mix of PR footage, tech interviews and driving. I can't really tell if this EV6 is VW Golf sized of BMW x3 sized, or tall Stinger sized.
It’s large. Think short Palisade.
Smaller than an X3, bigger than a golf. More like an X2.
Yes Jack yes! Great review
The Korean music at the beginning was a nice touch
Entertainment wise: This or a X5 M50i ??
I’m convinced this is the best car KIA has ever produced.
Having test driven the wind model, I was blown away. Spending 60K for a performer like this is nothing short of amazing.
Well done Kia.
The two Korean children really set the tone of the video 🙏 i like it as much as kimchi
Yes jack, I can hear your heart
0:24, I don’t think I’ve seen athleticism like that since the late great Wade Boggs
The Kia Boys just got an upgrade
These things will literally be targeted like an Apple store in San Francisco.
Those intros explaining where the heck is Mark lol🤣😂🤣
Gotta say, what an amazing ev car,wow
I looked up Mark’s career stats on Basketball Reference.
Drafted in the 87th round, 2,784th overall from Kirkland Community College
Games 14, Games started 0
2P FG: 4.3%
3P FG: 0.0%

Wedgies: 6x Champion
While this car has impressive performance, and is a “bargain” compared to other performance EV’s. Let’s not pretend that $60K is cheap or affordable to most people. I long for the days where a decent performance car could be had for $30K brand new.
My biggest problem with EV’s besides lack of driver involvement/ weight. Is the fact they are so damn expensive.
Even affordable cars are marked up beyond belief. Bad time to be a car enthusiast.
If government wasn't forcing the automakers hands on pushing EVs I don't think EVs would ever last long enough to justify the continued production. The cost is way too high for most people, and the used market is not viable either given the risk of battery replacement costs.
I know someone who owns an EV6 and I gotta say that it really is the better looking car of the electric SAVs.
I regularly blow up kia and hyundai motors used before the warranty goes out and they seem to replace them with some haggling.
Look at reliability of Kia in current years and get past of old image of Kia.
@@bhbae1 Kia posted a 55% hit to their profit in Q3 of 2022 and Hyundai posted about 77% hit to their profit. All this due to warrant claims on their failing and faulty POS engines. Get off that [Kia Redacted].
@@bhbae1 I am specifically talking about reliability issues in the past few years.
The thought and execution effort that goes into each video is incredible. Love it
Never seen such emotionless man in a 577bhp car. But the track driving made it for me.
Piano black playing on the sound system is so damn funny
This track review makes me happy. Seems very fun to drive.
wish you would have aimed a go pro at the range estimate during the track segment
the fade in to the complete air ball sent me
I was not expecting this at all from Kia, an EV that can drift!!?? Ofc it doesn’t have the poise and communication of a true sports car but at least this is more fun than 80% of the other EV offerings out there
So when are we going to get an ev with adaptive power output. For example the EV6 can get up to 500+hp. Why can they not program that same car down to like 180hp for highway cruising for significantly better range. That way you have power in a drive mode or great range. Also hows everyones EV doing in these record breaking freezing day?
Nice, balanced review Jack.
Lmao at the cloud of tire smoke Jack left on track on his first drift. You know, if this came in a sedan that was slightly lighter it might be kind of interesting 🤔
Just wait until you get informed that you cannot park this in the garage due to fire risk! The Facebook boys will really get a kick outta that!
Good video. Only thing I would change is the use of pro-nouns. If you could use They and then that would be much appreciated
