In eastern PA, Hersheypark, Knoebels, and Dorney are a little over an hour apart. I haven't been to Dorney for years, but I imagine it's worth a visit. Hersheypark and Knoebels are absolutely must-do parks. I would think you would want a full day at both of those parks. Kennywood, even though it's not got the best operations, to put it mildly, is still a must-do park, what with its unique hyper, Phantom's Revenge, it's unique looper, Steel Curtain, and three pretty decent woodies. North of Kennywood, you'll find Waldameer, a smaller traditional park with an exceptional woodie in Ravine Flyer II (that and Knoebel's Phoenix are easily the two best woodies in the state). As far as the best coaster lineup overall, Hersheypark, and it's not even close. If you're a fan of extremely intense coasters, Skyrush is a crowned jewel (the intensity is no joke). Candymonium is a really strong hyper, and Fahrenheit and Storm Runner are two top-tier Intamins. They've also got two good woodies in Lightning Racer and Comet and a pretty good B&M invert, and a number of other attractions including an excellent launched tower ride (if you go, ride the largest tower, and make sure you're facing the medium tower-it's a visual experience that's both frightening and exhilerating).
I’ve been in the park 10+ times this season and I really think something is coming. I’d put it at 80% RMC 15% Titan 5% standard retrack. They’re marking up the posts, moved the running lights to Comet and tore down the photo booth. The posts and photo booth lead me to believe RMC. They wouldn’t have to mess with the supports or queue line if there was no redesigning. Titan or standard retrack would use the exact same layout unless GCI is going to come out of left field and start doing RMC type conversions. As for chocolate town, they will move out that way eventually. There are rumors (not sure if confirmed or not) that Candymonium was the first of a 3 coaster contract and that’s really the only land they have to build on. They also recently bought a boat load of land that used to be a golf course across the road from the reaches of chocolatetown.
@@Jason_Maier honestly not sure the name. Its the land behind the giant center. Don’t believe it’s been an active course in a while but not sure about that either.
Left field?? Titan Track was marketed to do such things as launches, extreme airtime, inversions, etc. All they have done with it so far are tests. It's a great product to help keep coasters smooth, but the true potential of Titan Track hasn't even been touched yet. People seem to have completely forgotten that.
@@TheJimwilt20 it's not just you trust me. They really kind of stopped marketing it. Maybe now that it's been on a few coasters they will start pushing it again who knows.
Surprised to see you do a video on RMC Wildcat but it’s a welcome surprise. While it definitely appears that something is going to take place soon with Wildcat with the markers, Photo Booth removal, and land work, I’m definitely leaning towards this project being a general GCI overhaul potentially with some Titan Track usage. Wildcat got a new control panel this offseason which is a kind of investment you wouldn’t expect for a ride being RMC’d. That and track work has been taking place in recent offseasons. We will have to wait and see what happens.
Thank You! That’s very interesting about the new control panel. I’d be very happy to see this ride get a retrack or Titan. It’s still a very fun layout. Can’t wait to see what the future holds.
I think the new control panel was a way for Hershey to soften the landing of Wildcat being RMCd. They still will need to have a good relationship because of the Racers.
@@TheJimwilt20 GCI is a business and they will keep working with Hershey regardless of what happens to Wildcat. If they were to become petty over Wildcat to the point they stopped working with Hershey it would be a bad look for GCI. So any theories relating to Hershey being worried about their relationship with GCI is completely silly to me.
@@CoasterHour I get that they’re a business, but it’s still important to keep business relationships good. I could see GCI being upset that their first coaster is being remade and Hershey extending an olive branch of some track maintenance and new control panel. I would think the control panel they bought could be used on another coaster but I’m not all that knowledgeable about the ins and outs of ride ops. And if it’s not able to be used elsewhere wouldn’t that make it also not work if they titan track it because of the difference in speeds and brake runs that I’m sure would need changed?
Man, your editing skills are so unmatched in the YT coaster community. I’d rewatch this video just for the HD montage of the whole park, not to mention the commentary. Great insight as always!
Finally, you have resurfaced! On my last few trips to Hersheypark, I have walked right past Wildcat, thanks to the horrendous headaches and bone-rattling beatings it has given me in recent years. I like the points you make about how transitions would help the coaster itself, but you have also discussed things like traffic flow to the back of the park. I am also intrigued by your idea of removing the wild mouse and extending wildcat across the midway. You are definitely thinking outside of the box! I just returned from Tampa where I got to ride the new Iron Gwazi. I remember riding the original Gwazi, three times on the lion side and three times on the tiger side. All six rides were excruciatingly painful, but I tried both sides and front/middle/back of each train, just to make sure it was as bad as I thought. Iron Gwazi is incredible Now and I would love to see these types of changes come to Wildcat. Can’t wait for your next video!!
0:10 bet all that noise from the community from my great friend Hersheypark Enthusiast! He's made like a LOT of Wildcat speculation videos lol. But seriously, Wildcat's future is very intriguing especially as Hersheypark being my home park!
I could see them maybe doing a re-track, seeing as I don't think GCI is going to be interested in letting their first ever coaster be converted into an RMC hybrid.
Great to see you back! My first visit to Hershey was in 2020, and subsequent 2021 visits have it as one a top 3 park, and I already have it above Cedar Point. I love Hershey! I can't imagine how much better it would be with RMC Wildcat. Having said that, every single ride I've gotten on Wildcat has been great, about 15-20 rides over 6 different days on 3 trips. I have loved every ride, only a little rough, great layout, and very good airtime. It annoys me so much to hear the hate for it, as it has only been great for me. With what you said, I may have caught it only on its good days. If it gets RMCd, I will miss the original, but no doubt that RMC Wildcat would be awesome!
Thank God you're back! I got so bored I started my own channel just to keep me occupied. 🤣 But in all seriousness, you're videos are still the best going. I also think that while a re-track would be awesome, Wildcat will eventually the the RMC treatment that will turn Wildcat into a must ride just like they did with Iron Gwazi. And as a total BGT fanboy I look forward to your Busch Gardens video. Keep up the great work.
Thanks. I'm still kinda learning and figuring it all out, plus I didn't really expect to hit 1K subs so quickly, so I guess I should get down to business with it It's mostly just POV footage but eventually I plan on doing the obligatory top 10 whatever and stuff like that. I should get up to Hershey soon, that and Kennywood are pretty high on my bucket list.

Was just there again a week ago, and 2hr 15 min wait for great bear. Never saw these waits growing up near the park. I wonder if they can convert the chairlift ride (or skybuckets) for transportation to lightning racer area. That's what really need. Maybe make them 150 to 200 ft high!!
I've been watching your videos religiously, like the algorithm doesn't even work with how much I recheck your channel. I have to ask, what camera do you use? You have some of the best shots out of any channel. When I show off my tv/cinema setups, one of your videos is always in the Playlist.
Great production value as always. While I think the RMC thing would be good, the only thing making me not necessarily want it is that it's the new thing that everyone's doing. I'd rather see them re-work the ride to be better but leave it as a full thrill wooden coaster.
I'm glad I'm not alone. I've never understood the hate for Wildcat when compared to other wooden coasters that have been built in the past. Many of those have been converted to RMCs. Sure, Wildcat has always been a bumpy ride compared to Lightning Racer and Comet and it's had it's good and bad years, but I've never found it totally unrideable. Especially in recent years, Hershey has done some work to it and it's been running about as well as I ever remember. I would love to see GCI come it and give this coaster a thorough overhaul with all new wooden track, change the profiling of some of the hills to improve the airtime and maybe expand the layout a bit. I really think it would do the ride justice.
I wanna see a retrack personally. I genuinely really love Wildcat's layout and I think it delivers some very solid airtime. I'd love for it to do the same thing, but with only half the jostling
I agree with you. That is my personal thoughts. Either perform the GhostRider refurb on Wildcat, or Titan track(as part of a multi year deal). Then RMC Lightning Racer, this will create the draw to the back of the park. Then as part of the Chocolate Town expansion, have GCI build a Mystic Timbers style woodie. This will elevate Hershey into the upper echelon of Parks joining Kings Island as one of the best parks in the country.
Wildcat might not even get the RMC Treatment or Titan-track. If anything it might get completely refurbished by the Gravity Group, with parts of the layout re-done and the Millennium Flyers replaced with Timberliner trains. The same thing happened with Tonnerre 2 Zeus, a CCI Woodie at Parc Asterix in France, so this might be the path that Wildcat might go.
Great Video! I think wildcat might have met it’s end, especially since the other woodies in the park can get decent waits. It is basically irrelevant at this point.

Hate to say it, but I don’t see RMC treatment happening. GCI is literally just down the road and they will practically give away their titan track to keep RMC from doing yet another GCI. Will also be way cheaper for Hershey Park
I like lightning racer a LOT more then wildcat and I think RMC will make it an incredible coaster and I hope they leave lightning racer alone cause it’s still awesome
Given the historic nature of Wildcat, I think I would be a mistake to RMC it. RMC is perfectly capable of creating something new at Hershey, rather than doing yet another recycle. The loss of an historic wooden coaster is not good for Hershey's PR (you can bet that ACE would have something to say about it), and frankly RMC's coasters are not for everyone. There are plenty of upper-level thrill-seeker coasters at Hershey. Leave the mid-level fun wooden coasters like Lightning Racer and (a refurbished) Wildcat alone.
If Wildcat didn't have the label as the first GCI, I'd say RMC it. However, with it's history, can't they give it the Ghostrider treatment and keep it running as a true wooden coaster.?
