I am wondering if the fabulous white background prints in the line can be used along with coriander seeds for the background. xxx
I would say that the white on whites I mentioned in the video (or the Bella solid) would be the best choice. I really like those low volumes for backgrounds in general but I think for this one you are going to want the extra contrast of the white on white or solid.
Corey, I have a FQ bundle of your Sunwashed fabric. Do you think that will look good for this mystery BOM? I started a new career - high school science teacher - and I haven't been sewing because I spend all my time doing lesson plans. I don't want to buy more fabric, but I think maybe a one-block-per-month sew-along will help motivate me to carve out a little sewing time!

There will be quilt shops offering kits. I just did a google search for "cali co mystery quilt kit" and there were a variety of online shops offering preorders for them. This one is also very easy to purchase without a kit as the quilt top only requires a fat eighth bundle plus background and border fabric.

Yes!...you can always double up on blocks or add extra borders to make a quilt larger. =)

Oh yes, a half yard bundle will work great...you'll need just a small portion of each cut for the BOM.

I should have added that you can do scrappy whites...but I would stick with white on whites (mixing Coriander Seeds would work fine).

A large portion of the pieces cannot be cut from a layer cake.

I tried a few mystery sew alongs and figured out for me it’s better to wait and see what the pattern is.
You can always see what you think of the first couple blocks or wait and see how things come together at the end. =)
