Use "Real Automatic" mode. Then you have D-N-R. On a H shifter with six speeds, it will be 3 for Drive, N for Neutral, and 4 for Reverse. I think the "Simple Automatic" is intended for game controllers.
"Simple Automatic" means keeping the brake pedal pressed will start reversing after the stop. It's intended for playing with Arrow Keys in a more arcade style.
38:48 "Shift up", "shift down" and "shift to neutral" is for when you don't have a shifter and use keyboard. When you have a shifter and want to play with automatic transmission, you select "real automatic" and then in shifter positions there is a section for automatic that allows you to select shifter positions for Drive and Reverse.

I started using the GDC mod thanks to you, currently almost at level 5. It's been an enjoyable grind so far and modded trucks do show up for used! Planning to have either a Mack R or a K100 as my first truck. Also the hotkey you set was shift to reverse hint and not shift to reverse itself
The second wreck was at the hole in the rock when you went to take that picture, Peterbilt 579 was the truck, and you said no more aerodynamic trucks, XD (also I made this comment before you remembered at the 30 minute mark, xD )
The +3 on the dash is the cruise control tolerance, So if CC is set at 60mph the engine brake won't kick in till 63mph, You can change it in the options, i have mine set at 0 tolerance.
I'm using the beta and I'm about a quarter of the way through level 10. When I had enough money I bought the cheapest truck in the used truck market. It was a $22k VNL 2014 with 500k miles and 18% permanent damage. Right now I am playing vanilla except for a mirror fov mod. When I get further along I'll ad the Real Eaton Fuller mod.

U changed the wrong button mapping lol u changed the Shift down HINT not the Shift Down. The shift down was right under shift up hammer. Right now your Shift Down is mapped to CTRL

One question: When I tried the GDC Realistic Economy MOD I got to level 1 after one drive whereas you were hundreds of XP before you levelled up. Did you manage that through a MOD or settings? Like you, I’d like to level up slower to make it more realistic.

I guess what I mean by that, I always want to play realistically with my wheel/pedals and always wonder if IRL when you take off from a light, are you pretty much petal to the floor? or easing into it? Didnt know it was allowed to chain the hoe down with the chains on the tracklinks/pads. Is this normal? Because they are just fastened with 2 to 4 bolts each. Dosnt seem safe to me. I have always found a way to actually strap down the undercarriage itself to the bed. It's not a critic, I just wonder. :) I have always chained down the stick and bucket. Depending on how far I am transporting ofc. If I am going far. Yes. Just internal transport inside my small town. No. I am not in the USA btw.
Meant to ask, does the real fuel mod effect MPG or price? I noticed that the game have a built in real fuel but Im sure there will be a conflict if using both?
As long as the mods are installed, they will still show up in the used dealership! I also suggest picking up the realistic used truck dealership mod from the workshop, it has cheaper offerings with hella miles and mediocre damages, but it is kinda nice to get your own truck early
track IR just well is troublesome given you move your head while the monitor doesnt move with your head VR is certainly better here, but VR comes with a huge ressource cost. Now with Version 1.5 and openXR .. i finally got the game running fluid.. but i do use a 4090RTX and even there i still have to do tricks So unless your pc is a beast.. VR just might not be a good experience.
@@MikePettGaming well european trucks use a 24v system. So i was surprised the US is still fine with the 12v system. And in case you didnt know that and dont know why you would do 24v instead of 12 its pretty easy. Trucks have bigger motors and electric components that need more power. And to keep currents low and with that heat generation in cables etc you increase the voltage. Thats especially useful the starter. As it draws a lot of power. The cable and the starter get hot real fast and with a 24v system you can run the starter for longer without overheating and melting of the wires. Thats been in place in Europe for a long time so i really would like to know why america still uses the 12v system in their big semi trucks.

The plus 3 means the adaptive crusie control allows 3 mph difference before trying to slow it down. From my understanding anyway.

+3 is the Cruise Control tolerance (in Truck Settings). If the truck reaches 3mph over the CC the retarder kicks in (assuming Auto Retarder is on.)

If ya did a used truck that’s a 1-3 star. It can be a truck that you have to do a complete overhaul. Which is expensive. Could be cool.
You put it to hunt down shift instead of down shift. But I think you can still used H shifter 3D N 4R

I've got outlaw peterbilt 379 in the used market it sits 89k compared to the stock SCS w900 will sit around 90k

Real auto is you shifter. Push forward for drive in middle for neutral and back for reverse

Real Automatic, then 3rd for forward and 4th for reverse. Then you have your Brake for braking only, and you have a neutral too.
The modded trucks are so much cheaper. Haterbilt is 52k brand new. Which kinda ruins the point of this, so i bought a used truck off the market
