Oh how I've missed your TPF2 shenanigans. It has an element of the Home Improvement TV series in that screw ups are inevitable, you roll with it regardless and we all have a laugh. Missed it so much I recently just went back to watch an old series and you suddenly come out with this. You sir, are a legend...
TF2...so long as you never get bored of making them, I'll never get bored of watching them. Been playing TCG Cardshop non stop since seeing your video..day 75 and shop is going strong.
A classic CF production! Been a looooong time since the first video I watched of you placing the wrong dock and ending the video in frustration. I wish you 50 more years of success!
Colonel we need Transport Fever from you as it runs through your veins, the game needs you and we need you too. Happy to see your started a new serious, I’m now going to binge to catch up 😂
I really like this idea starting with no industries and just started my own map and removed them too. Good job CF, looking forward to watching this series.
I hope the Colonel has fun with this....I know burnout/fatigue with TF2 was/is a thing. I hope a new logistics game comes out that adds something new to the mix. Happy for this all the same!!
Interesting concept, mad but interesting creator. Grabbed the map, different start point, similar initial strategy, though once loan paid of no more overdraft. Thank you.
I think last time i watched your videos was during one of the transport fever series, now you start a new one and YT recommended it right away, it knows us...
Yay! Looking forward to seeing the gratuitous pursuit of Mrs Miggins with your bulldozer. Word is she's opened a pie shop in one of the cities - she's been feeling a little too settled for too long...
19:14 one of the reasons I love the Colonel is that his commentary reminds me of a schizophrenic who has a RUclips comments section as one of the voices in his head.
Ankh and Morpork the Buda and Pest of the Dozerverse. Nice to see old friends back on a new map. And ah go on do the ridiculous Conmats route, it'll be wonderfully tedious, either that our 'build' a canal? Good fun to see it back. PS some of like to call them coaches. It cheers us up at 2am at some God forsaken service station...
Welcome back to Transport Fever 2! Disagree that a bus network is boring; I like seeing a transportation network coming together, city by city and station by station. You're already making a profit after playing for less than an hour. Off to a grand start, keep 'em rolling!
I've downloaded the (excellent) map, and I'm running with an 1800 start, 1/4 speed time, ships up the Whazoo (that's the name of the river), and I was almost bankrupt in 1802, but have turned things around in 1803. Make sure your dock is connected to the food factory, people.
Time to start watching again my love of train fever, Transport Fever and Transport Fever 2 came through watching your videos love that its back oh and also i cant wait for Transport Fever 3
I thought I was dreaming but, then I heard you say Transport Fever and I just freaked out because I love that gave. The time until the next video is excruciating painful 😅 I just want more TF2
I think your hierarchy was spot on, tho I would class trucks worse than busses. At least regarding this game. IRL Planes rule, then Ships, then trains.
Thrilled to have Transport Fever returning again, and definitely interested in that 'things I'd like to see in TF3' video. Now I don't know if this is some bizarre Mandela effect or not, but I seem to recall in your very first series of transport fever 2, you stopped rather abruptly saying that you would return at the very end of transport fever 2's natural life to see how the game, and your gameplay, has evolved since then. In fact it was the name of this series along with your promise not to play again that reminded me, because I thought that's what this was. I'm really happy to discover that this is a whole new series and I love the concept, but it did lead me to wonder if we ever will see a return to that first series?
ETERNAL 1950!!!!!!!!!!! Sounds good to me, plus in some respects, hi-speed trains are a major pain in the A**...they never DO seem to get up to the theoretical potential compared to cost. Good going Colonel and you'll suceed as always! (BTW get the Patrician to construct that bridge between Ankh and Morpork, after all HOW can the Watch do their patrols...
The Colonel returns to TF2! And with an interesting concept for the playthrough. Me gusto. Only having industries as they pop up gets me thinking. Starting there ought to be just farms (that take a lot of space! countrysides are famous for farms taking loads of space, after all), a few small towns at logical places (river mouths etc) and maybe a mine and some forestry? And then have industries and towns plop up based on algorithms that weigh things like access to logistics, to raw material, to the right landscape features, etc. build a out-of-town junction station that gets enough people actually using it for transfers and a town could pop up. A line that carries freight of X & Y types and an industry that uses X & Y prefers to pop up near that line. etc. With added randomness so there's that one industry you need the output from that pops up in a stupid far away place too.
So, about electrics in the 1950's...at least in the US we had fully electric lines since the 1900's. Most of these were interurban routes, but there were a few major lines with electric power. These would be the Pennsylvania Railroad, Milwaukee Road, and Great Northern. Just some info for you later on, figured I'd pass it now.
$5m in 1950 is roughly equivalent to a bit over $65m today - IOW, a fair whack of cash, but a paltry sum with which to build an empire! Just a wonder, but _IF_ (in the fullness of time) you become frustrated with the limitations of 1950, perhaps a "Part Two" jump to 1960 might become an option? I'm mad-keen on this series (and did watch you build the map!). Cheers
Oh i have missed this so much I saw the map posted on Steam the other day so i have been excited for this It's either The Colonel or GrandT that make great TpF2 videos. I have been trying to find others that do TpF2 videos but most are boring and no fun
Oh yeah, he's back at it! Request/suggestion: Perhaps up the pace a bit to progress the series slightly faster. I.E. a short timelapse with voiceover where you place a similar set of bus stops and lines on additional parts of the map, just to gain more profit. Btw, a classic Failure Moment [tm] is forgetting to repay the loan for any money left after doing some initial setup. :)
@@colonelfailure Maybe I'm an individual who are a bit unclear in my wordings? Thinking about speeding up the initial phase before getting into trains. Side track: When I'm playing I use the debug menu to run the simulation at 32x speed in this phase, to be done with this without cheating. (The game mechanics is afaik the same, it just looks ugly when running faster than the 4x the standard UI allows). :)
The cursor is bizarrely absent in today's show. It will return. Apologies, cursor fans.
He was the best character on Automan.
That acurused cursor!
Classic failure
Glad to have some tpf2 action
Curse the lack of a cursor. Curious.
Do my peasant eyes deceive me?
The Colonel is back on TF2?
What a time to be alive lads.
The gentle intro music crashing into the opening jingle is peak Colonel Failure
You could almost sense its approach.
@@colonelfailure yes, like a freight train sneaking up and surprising you from behind when on a quiet country walk.

This is fortunate.

Hey it's Mr. Transport Fever himself! Say hello everyone!

Am I having a fever dream?
The Colonel's back on the Feve - certainly it's a dream come true!
Line manager, naming conventions, Roman roads, knackers to everything... Oh i have missed this 😆 Looking forward to the journey ahead dear Colonel ❤
"...hills and all that business..."
The commentary that makes me smile.
I’m SO glad to see you back at Transport Fever II!!! You have given me so much love for this game and no one can do it like you.
It feels good to see this game on the Colonel Failure channel once again. Can't wait to see what this series has in store for us!
Welcome back to Transport Fever 2 Colonel. Looking forward to seeing how the map evolves over the coming episodes 😀
Stay cool ! Stay cool ! Stay cool !
I thought Colonel was done with this game, flipping hell I thought this day would never come...

I'm so happy! this will be the series I'll watch this winter. So fun!
The intro music, and shot, had me thinking of a supernatural thriller set in 1950s rural US :)

Crikey, it’s Napoleonic logistics. A time where profits and losses were literally dependent on the wind.
