You should try a collab with fry em up, he's been loyal to another card game Plants vs zombie Heroes for years but seems to be wanting to switch to a new fresh card game which is likely to be this card game, and despite his low end knowledge of this game specifically he does know his way of building decks (Did it years with an abandoned game. never ran out of ideas) and him teaching and playing with you would be a cool collab!

It's so weird that between BTD6, BTD Battles 2, and now Bloons Card Storm, there is basically no consistent look for the 3D models. It's kinda bizzare.
I guess they want the games to stand out, but considering they use the same heroes with the same voicelines anyway they should just make a consistent brand out of it

when it comes to deck building, there are very few rules that may carry over from deck builder to deck builder in strategy and optimization
But there is 1 rule that is fairly consistent in making your decks better

@@A-Warthog-cc1wm yes, you are more likely to draw your key cards but given the format of dying when you draw from an empty deck it's important to not focus too much on card draw

You said the most expendable tower is the crossbow, but it is actually the village (crossbow adds 60*2/2 = 60 damage per turn (2 attacks every two turns) without passive, and village adds (after putting sharp shooter next to it) 15*(1+4/2)=45 dpt (the 4/2 is because the sharp shotter benefits from the buff rwice on its first shot and once on the others)
4:16 not sure how relevant this info is, but as a yugioh player, card advantage is big. In this game, you need gold to play cards, so ways to get gold seems good to me. A consistent way to get both might help. Of course, no idea how well this translates into Bloons card storm, and stronger towers cost more gold so… it’s a delicate balance.
Edit: oh yeah, bloontonium (or whatever spelling) exists. You NEED to send Bloons in order to get it, and the hero abilities are fueled by it. A synergy i immediately though of is (at least one) burny stuff mortar, plus Gwendolin 20 bloontonium ability (iirc, it does huge dmg to burning Bloons, or sets them on fire if not on fire)
generally, card advantage matters less in games like these because unlike yugioh you can't just play the best value in your hand every turn, you have to actually be able to afford it. so card drawing is completely dependant on the average cost of your deck. gold generation will always be good to have, though.
@@alchmage3926 makes sense, and i think i commented on the fact you need gold too. PROBABLY could have said that clearer, but a consistent way to get gold generation and maybe some extra cards doesn’t seem bad. Then again, you might not want too many extra cards since you can lose to deck out, and the cards just seem good anyway. Then there’s the fact you can kinda set up your starting hand
Yeah, card advantage is such a big deal in YGO because there is no game-wide currency system so every card in your hand is available to be used on the same turn in theory. Thus, bigger hand equals bigger value.
@@20oxide36 yep, unless you draw more than one of the same card, because of the “you can only use this effect of [card name] once per turn” which is absent in this game, and encouraged given that some cards are playable more than once as long as you have gold

as a roguelike liking person one of the best tips for deck builders and roguelikes is focus on one synergy or strategy and make sure that all your cards work together to help cover all bases and use your strategy well

A cool card would be a power that respawns all bloons destroyed your opponent's next turn, but removes the effects and either doubles the cooldown or gives a quarter hp rounded up. the card art would be a graveyard or a group of necromancers
Also another power that increases the hp of all of your bloons with no effects by half of its current hp, but increases its wait by 1 turn.

Hey ISAB, you actually could’ve replaced the village with another dart monkey and you would’ve had more damage. The village gives both adjacent towers +15, so it’s essentially a 30 damage tower, especially when it’s put on a tower that only has 1 shot. If you played something like the dart monkey that got a bunch of damage from fan clubs, it would’ve added a lot more damage per turn

I’m thinking that cycle decks (similar to Clash Royale) would be effective. You have a few key powerhouse/synergy cards and everything else is cheap and efficient. The goal is to get to the key cards ASAP. Cards like restock and cash crate will be good as well as cheap but powerful towers like crossbow and (now) sniper.
Sign me up, isab. I wonder if there will be player bots like me in the game.
That would make the game way more fun, just adding effects on cards that synergize well with each other

Focus on good money building/card draw cards to make any deck better. It gets you to your other good materials quicker. You want as little card variety and deck size as possible so that it's easier to get your good cards.
I play lots of online card games and normally when a card game is new hyper aggro is super powerful 90% of the time. This means playing a ton a cheap ballons with lots of cards that draw you more cards should be good. So far I found the red ballons paired with the cards that draw you more is super powerfull so kill them fast.

I tried the game and can confidently say that farms either need a rework or significant balance change; otherwise, the gameplay will always revolve around racing to establish farms as quickly as possible. Edition: Cash drop need to be removed immediately because it is busted.

I can appreciate ninja kiwi branching out a bit with a card game but it dosnt really play very well compared to other options. Maybe itll smooth out in time but it feels very clunky to watch cards be played and health lower yet there still be very little FEELING of progress

I played a lot of PvZ Heroes, which is vaguely like this game. My recommendation to newcomers is to just copy someone else's decks to play with, as it should teach you a bit about why they're good and the different styles of play (aggro vs control vs balance). No shame in learning from others.
