  • I discuss if 12 MP is good enough, will the ZV E1 be a decent photo camera. Plus a complete catastrophe!

Awe man! Sorry about the mess, that is frustrating! Hope your carpet is good.
Yeah the main reason to buy this is for low light video and I agree for photography it would be sufficient as most people just use phones for photos anyway... That being the case, 2200 before the lens for the masses is a big ask. Your looking at least 2600 dollars for a good prime lens and this camera for a new comer into this market... These camera companies really need to give more value, and way more convenience or they are going to be taking a hit in the long run. It seems Phone photography and video advance 4 times faster than camera tech. What a phone can do with such a little sensor is amazing and for photos it is all most people need anyway.
Other than Low light video and good stab according to what they say, their is no more value in this than an a7c for a new person into this.... You could buy an A7c used and get a prime lens for less than 2000 easy and have a viewfinder and it would be better for photos. I kind of think this is a way for sony to dump this sensor and get them sold as they unveil their new one.. Good camera for sure, just not worth 2200 in my opinion. Just so thoughts that are running through my mind....
Good video man, keep it up have a great day!

Definitely over priced for what it is, luckily I already own a bunch of Sony glass to use with the camera. Phones are definitely taking over the space, such a powerful tool that can process the entire scene in milliseconds and adjust accordingly with out user input. I have been resistant to phone photography simply b/c I don't like taking photos with my phone, although most of the time it would be the superior tool.
We'll see how the ZV E1 does in the hands of "normal" people soon enough.
      Thanks for watching!
