I've always read how Firefly acted in 2.0 as her trying to rekindle what she had with the trailblazer in what little time she had before the script dragged her away again. Hence why it kind of felt like a "Gain trust and establish emotional connection speedrun". And credit where it's due, she did a damn good job. Also sidenote I like how out of all the stellaron hunters, she seems to have the most contempt for Elio's script? It's really fun to see considering she seems to value what little freedom she has so highly.
Lets be honest I think THIS would've been the most believable, heartfelt, "HUMAN," and honest reaction to this reveal. Probably the reaction the community wanted most to be honest.

The writing is just going towards the former while the players mostly feel that latter. That's the issue with them being a pseudo self-insert, how they act won't work for everyone. People forget MC was and kinda is still a Stelleron hunter. You aren't some random human that is only a few months old. Blade during the Loufa even mentions that he knows you and you used to do missions with Kafka long before the last one. Kafka even admits that Ellio had you two working together and that you would be effecting each others destiny, and even to plant us where we are when HSR first started. Only parts we don't know atm is our past as well as why a Stelleron was put in us, but we very much have a past and are human. You very much have history with Firefly, and while the being romantic with her could be speculated, I find it kinda hard to see the MC being THAT DEVESTATED when she "died" in his arms. If that was someone you knew all of 1 day or even just some hours, you'd feel bad but not be that broken. That isn't even talking MC tried to catch her let alone the way a lover would. That would be like if you first met Acheron in the dream, then met her for real then she died, you'd be bummed but not that bothered. And I DEF don't see MC reacting that way in this senario. Me personally, I see them on the one end being kindred spirits/very close friends, and on the other end they were lovers.
I like the perplexed expression she has until the trailblazer puts that arm around her, and everything just fucking melts. God I would kill for this to be canon

Trailblazer just accepted she was okay and that was it.... Sure other things were going on but still. Atleast during the trials they allowed to head pat which is close enough.
The last bit we get is if you head to her secret base and check the dialogue as it changes from being confused to accepting the truth and wishing her safety
