“I hate this song…” *sings and dances through the whole thing*
Every goddamn time
It's funny that you said in the start this is the most cohesive one yet, cause when it first came out it was wracked for not being a cohesive album
yep which is how she came up with 1989 album, her most cohesive at the time.
Came here to say this! It’s why people said she didn’t win the Grammy for AOTY
* Sonically cohesive specificly, not lyrically
@@highperformer5532thissss. red is so cohesive lyrically but it’s an hybrid country pop rock album ❤
We all have our favorites ✨ As for criticism at the time honestly had more to do with being a beautiful young woman breaking barriers as a brilliant songwriter, multi instrumental musician, singer & performer that wasn't catering to male ideals and worse, singing from a woman's perspective that sometimes calls men out. Taylor is patriarchy's nightmare 😂
"I hate this song." ... OH-OH! I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU-
"I hate this song." ... AND THE HATERS GONNA HATE, HATE-
Every. Single. Time.
22 became a new song to me when I recognized it as her rallying from that cursed 21st. Like party on girl. But the Manuscript made it touch anthemic exultation. When you felt shame and wanted to be 30 for an older man who mistreated you, the ability to celebrate being exactly your age, in all of its twentytwoness? Beautiful :)
Its so true. Some of her songs arent the best lyrically or they are simple but also soooooo catchy!!!
Same with Bad Blood, Karma and LWYMMD
Red is THE taylor swift album in my opinion, not necessarily her best but it’s the album that best describes her as an artist if you aren’t familiar with her, it has the pop hits, the storytelling, the top notch lyricism, everything. Definitely her magnum opus
I’ve always said this, and Red (TV) solidifies my point. Lyrical excellence isn’t a question. Sound-wise, It has the country-pop-rock songs for Speak Now stans. It has the first Max Martin collaborations for people who prefer 1989’s pop sound. folklore and evermore’s parents, The Last Time and Sad Beautiful Tragic, are also in this album. It even has Stay Stay Stay for the 12 stans of ME!
I guess reputation stans who love the dark pop sound may have a hard time connecting with it. However, I’ve seen a theory on Tumblr back in 2018 that the track order of reputation has lyrical parallels to Red’s track order (e.g. “And I’ll never be the same” - State of Grace, Red Track 1 // “I’m so very tame now, never be the same now” - …Ready for It? - reputation Track 1) because they are opposites- Red being a heartbreak album that looks at love in a fatalistic sense while reputation being a love song-filled album that looks at love as something to be protected, even from her own reputation.
I think the two quintessential Taylor Swift albums to suggest to anyone who wants to know what she’s about are Red (TV) and The Tortured Poets Department.
It’s her best tho
It's even obvious that it's one of if not Taylor's favorite album
@@parker.e and for a reason (it's her best)
absolutely
FUN FACT: Everything Has Changed was mostly written on a trampoline when Ed was visiting Taylors house and she was like "want to see my trampoline" and brought the guitar with her by accident and while jumping was like "oh yeah how does this sound for a song" and its a fantastic song... this was the first song they had together, and they have been friends ever since!! that is why he was on End Game because that song is about how even with Keynes big reputation in 2017 she still had her friends with her and their support
🎶"And I almost dooooo..."🎶
"NO, TAYLOR." 💀💀💀
😂 i laughed so hard
Tbh, idk why but why is I Almost Do becoming my favorite?!!😭😭😭
my favorite on red !
22 after the "[my dad] said it's supposed to be fun turning 21" tho
WAIT I NEVER NOTICED THIS?!
@iZZZIL oh yeah! And the instrumental break between "turning 21" and "Time won't fly" perfectly matches the intro and outro instrumental to The Moment I Knew
and thats why 22 sounds so happy cuz she finally escaped the hell year
And now she dates boys who are her own age, with dartboards on the back of their doors… she’s not trying to be thirty, she’s feeling exactly what she is, unashamedly 22 🤍
The first person to ever say Red is cohesive i fear😭
Taylor’s 21st birthday is such a bitter experience for her, it made her write three songs about it: ATW 10, The Moment I Knew, and 22
i treat your taylor journey like a tv series that releases a new episode once or twice a week😭
As a member of the swiftie community, I think all of us could mutually agree that the 10 minute version of All Too Well is the original song in our minds now.
reacts to "eyes open" and "safe & sound" are songs that are not on the album but are from the same era. I can even imagine you freaking out about safe & sound
Yesss I want to see her reaction to these two songs as well!!
Yes!!!! Both amazing songs!!!! I think she’d love them!
You being like "omg not 22 🙄" and then dancing along thirty seconds later is such a mood. This is what Taylor refers to as one of her "glitter gel pen" songs. Basically upbeat hit singles that make you want to jump around. She has two other "pens" she categorizes her songs with which is a whole video by itself. Lol, but I definitely relate to your sentiment bc once you understand the depth of her lyricism, it's so hard to listen to the bubblegum pop tracks. 😂
Lauryn: I hate this song
Also Lauryn, 10 seconds later: I DON'T KNOW ABOUT YOU
SAD BEAUTIFUL TRAGIC ENJOYER A RARE NOWADAYS, RISE!
No one can make a slander with that song, it's so vulnerable and it's so good
One of the best ever
If you want rock influences, try listening to her album Speak Now
Speak now is the next era I’m going through :)
@@nahuellapuentepresumably tv
@@L4urynkingoooo, can’t wait for Speak Now & all Taylor’s theatre kid energy 🫶
@@L4urynking OHHH i hope u like it, one of my faves💓
@@L4urynkingmy fave album I cannot wait omg 😭
red stans RISE!
RED back to 2012 she was the first artist i became INTRESTING into an artist, i knew you were trouble- i listen to this song NON STOP for like 4 years
I Love RED! ❤
TOP 3 FOR ME
I think we all want a Taylor rock album.
If I have a 10 mins drive somewhere I play ATWTMV. Then if it’s 20 mins I play it twice lmaooo. I love it so much. I use it as a measure of time when I’m driving or traveling.
I use it for cooking pasta 🥲
Taylor is the soundtrack of our lives lol ❤
Rock Taylor??? Speak now can come to the phone right now 👀💜
It’s so funny that you said this was sonically cohesive because the biggest criticism this album got was that it was not sonically cohesive so when she made 1989 she worked exclusively with just a few people to keep it cohesive.
I will die on this hill. The subject matter & content, the genre bending sounds. Her evolution into pop from country. I love red - cohesive (to me) haha
@@L4urynking I totally agree! And as you were saying the tracking is completely intentional. From track 1 to begin again (the full original album), sound and all, tells a complete story of meeting someone and having a tumultuous relationship and break up and finding hope again.
It feels like a journey through which is why red is my favourite. All the pieces fit together even though they aren’t all the same.
@@elizabethmarie8069 yeah but some songs aren't good where 1989 is bulletproff no skip but red has stay stay stay and the lucky one other are very good
This is the one many people thought she would get a second AOTY for (and it was nominated) but the criticism was that it ultimately wasn’t sonically cohesive enough with a foot in country and one in a pop rock space. It’s what motivated her to come back with a straight pop album (1989) which DID win. It’s why people will say ‘justice for RED’. The snub was felllllttttttt.
red was a transition album with the mix of pop and country elements. It came after speak now (still country) and before 1989 (purely pop music) 🤞🏼
Speak now is a rock album. 😂😂
But really, it’s like country/rock. She had heavy John Mayer influence on that album.
@@honeytrap3635 yeah, I don't disagree with you. I would consider more country than rock, but still has a lot of rock influences
Begin Again holds a special place in my heart, it just makes me feel so nostalgic and good ❤❤🩹
Stay, Stay, Stay is by and large the most widely disliked (hated, if you will) song by Swifties of Taylor's EVER. You are in good company😂😂😂
Am I the only one who loves stay stay stay 😭😭😭
I mean, my kid loved it when they were like eight years old!
Stay, Stay, Stay is the one of those few songs that has almost no love in the fandom. You aren’t alone in making that face. Last Time feels like it’s purposefully placed to make you forget what you just heard the track before. ‘Pallet cleanser’ is correct. Lol
@@hafizazan9664 I like it. Literally just commented how I don't dislike it nor do I hate it. It is really catchy and at times, it'll randomly play in my head lol.
@@yvetterodriguez2550 yesss exactly!
This is the first song she and Ed wrote together...on a trampoline.
He was the opening act on her Red tour as well. They've been close friends ever since and she kind of helped him get together with his now wife.
As a Folklore stan, I could've guessed you would like Red. Red is my number 2, it also has a bunch of nostalgia for me because it came out when I was in my late teens 🥲
State of Grace is my absolute favorite Taylor song it just instantly pulls me into an actual movie and ATW10 is objectively Taylor’s magnum opus. Also Speak Now is Taylor’s most ‘rock’ album (entirely self-written btw) and my personal fav.
Speak Now is my # 1 too, idk if it’s nostalgia or what but I ADORE that album! 🫶
State of Grace is also my favourite Taylor Swift song ever and I get so emotional whenever I see someone appreciating it
“I want some rock Taylor” wait for speak now girl, there’s 4 songs on that album that I’m excited for u to listen too
45:02 they're really close friends, and they have 4 songs together.
One on reputation, 2 on Red TV, and one on his record but that song connects to the Everything Has Changed MV
Thank you for showing us your Taylor journey Lauryn :) you're awesome
i’ve been obsessed with your reactions to taylor’s albums for the past month 😭
You might already know,, but I’m just gonna give an ‘emotional content’ warning for “Ronan” (from the vault) cuz that shit fucking hurts
Ikr I couldn’t stop crying when I heard it first
Poor "Stay, Stay, Stay", it never gets any love lol. I was like you when I first heard it. I hated it. But when I heard Taylor finish the song by saying, "it's so fun", that's when I changed my perception of this song. No it's not a favorite of mine but I also don't skip it. I tell you, this song will randomly pop in my head the second boredom creeps in lol. I'll be in a waiting room or waiting in the car for someone or in the grocery aisle and I just end up singing it sometimes or humming it in a low voice. I think it's a cute song. And anyways, I don't mind a commercial jingle that's super catchy. It did it's thing. It's in my head now. You just got laugh it off sometimes 🤣
Aww. I'll stay for you "Stay, Stay, Stay" ❤
Aww I love it. ❤
not you putting the stay stay stay intro to close the video 😭😭😭 lol. i gotta say it’s so fun to think about her putting songs like treacherous, sad beautiful tragic and then putting 22 and stay stay stay that are silly bops inbetween the album like girl what the hell? loveeee love red, glad that you enjoy it to lauryn ❤
All Too Well original was considered to be THE ANTHEM of swifties, a masterpiece, her best written song.
Then she released the 10 minute version, and it got even better. (Your fav verse got added)
It's the swiftie anthem, and we all hold it in high regard. Personally I only listen to the long version at this point 😂
It's a BAWL-INDUCING-TEAR-JERKER of a song! Like, if I let myself be fully immersed into Jack's epic instrumental arrangement, and Taylor's masterful melody and lyrics (and her absolutely beautiful vocal interpretation, mind you...), I inevitably end up becoming a sobbing mess crying my snot out with my face signaling the name of the album.
Just stumbled upon this video and came on to say exactly this! 🫶🏼🫶🏼
PLEASE watch the live version of "We are Never Getting Back Together" from the 1989 tour. THHHHEEEENNNNN, listen to "Haunted" from Speak Now TV - you won't be disappointed, I promise. Love your reactions and watching your Swiftie journey!
Please do this!
Watching your reaction to "The Last Time" brought me so much joy. It's such an underrated song! I adore Gary Lightbody and Snow Patrol (also criminally underrated) have been my favorite band since I was in high school back in the mid 2000s. I always love seeing people who have an immediate appreciation for this song and Gary's voice.
I agree, TLT is one of my favourites. Absolutely underrated song & Gary's voice has always been smooth af.
Urgh love that tone drop of "how it glistened as it fell...i remember it all too well". I get goosebumps every.single.time.
What I enjoy most about being a Swiftie is the fact that you actually get into listening to music the same way you would aproach reading - track by track, album by album. You do have your stellar favourites, but you don't ever experience a dud. ❤
You adding the stay stay stay intro to your outro ended me, can’t wait to see your reaction to ME! ahaha
The Last Time is my fav and its so underrated… just.. HOW AND WHY
22 was so annoying when I was little but now that I become a swiftie I love it and I think is because it comes after all too well when she specifically talks about how her 21 birthday was shitty thanks to her ex and now she's turning 22 and having fun and being alone in the best way, is so good
This has 22 likes 😭😀
It's so witty how you ended the video with stay stay stay intro. Love your reaction.
Red is the album that made me a Swiftie. It was considered her only true breakup album for years. It tells the story of her falling in love, being on and off again, finally breaking up with, healing from, and moving on from one specific guy, all while starting to grapple with her growing fame and the media's changing attitude toward her. It really is a masterpiece of an album.
I can't even listen to All Too Well original anymore. It feels incomplete. And I listen to the 10 minute version a lot for it to be so long. It never gets old!
Also the way I cackled at the jump cut from "I hate this song" to "Twenty-TWOOOOO!" Same tbh. 22 got SO overplayed in 2012 but now I love it. I also love it for the context. Her 21st birthday party was kinda ruined by her shitty boyfriend promising to be there and not showing, and most of the year she was 21 she was just sad. So 22 is a celebration of feeling happy again and finally being able to enjoy herself after all that.
And...almost no one likes Stay Stay Stay. Her one true flop I fear. You're in good company. 😅
When you said you’re about to cry…I feel that! Every album and song is such a different sound and it’s very exciting to experience a song that you know she loved making because we like her musical choices and her as a person! Total package! If you react to ATW short film that would be fun!
YESSS SHE DID IT WAS THE VID BEFORE THIS ONE SHE WAS LITERALLY CRYING FR
THE LAST TIME I LISTEN TO THAT ALL THE DAMN TIME
If you want rock , watch 1989 tour rock version. She's soooooo perfect 🤌
Yes! The rock version of We are never getting back together is amazing!
I frantically searched for you tubes of that after I saw the concert. I was obsessed
Red is my favorite album beacuase it is so fun and sad but so poetic and phenomenal
You got some good advice with ending part one at begin again, that was the last song on the standard version of the original album. The next few songs at the beginning of part two are the bonus tracks for the deluxe album. And then you go into all of the vault tracks. I’m glad with you see what I see in the album because red is my favourite Taylor Swift album and I think it’s one of the most cohesive albums she has ever put out regardless of what the critics say.
she revealed treacherous and i knew you were trouble were about same person so her gut feeling was spot on but she swept awya
Red was really a great era, the most taylor album ever if you will, it has a little bit of everything. I hated the criticism about it not being cohesive because that’s exactly what it was supposed to be, heartbreak is messy, different and all over the place and that glues it all together. Living this 12 years ago was amazing and getting to relive everything again with a more mature view is more amazing.
Her performance in the BBC Live Lounge in 2019 is great. She does a great version of Holy Ground on the piano.
Stay stay stay as the outro music IM HOLLERINGGGGGG 💀💀💀
I appreciate you going in blind to the albums, I think swifties are far too eager to start name dropping who songs are about when it really doesn’t make a first listen of an album better
The Last Time supremacy 👑
Well damn it…I’m addicted to your channel but I can’t binge immediately to part 2!
My favorites off this album are
I almost do
begin again
sad BT
the moment i knew
comebck be here ❤️❤️❤️
also great reaction btw .. come back soon with the part two ❤️
I died when you put stay stay stay as the outro because it really is so fitting for a 2014 RUclips outro 😭😭 dw the majority of swifties dont like it either. But im so glad you love this album its one of my favorites!!! Some of her best writing to this day is on Red and the vault tracks are amazing. This album at the time was very much an innocent, wide eyed heartbreak album but in the recordings and the vault tracks she revisited those memories with her more mature understanding of the relationship and how toxic it was so you’re right in saying that atw10 seems more angry. I’m excited to see your reaction to speak now it has more of a punk rock influence. I loveee watching you become (almost) a swiftie and appreciating her songs. And yes, listening to the albums definitely puts the hits into context ie. 22 after the line about her 21st birthday and her saying “now you come around again and say..” in we are never getting back together after her saying “you call me up again” in atw…it just makes so much sense when you listen to the albums
I'm a Reputation/Midnights/TTPD girlie but Red really is a solid album. Also I love how honest you are at your reactions! I binged all your Taylor reactions so far, they're so good. (And your hair's looking GREAT!)
Lucky one reminds me of Clara Bow on the newest album. Same type of meaning!
I literally saiddd this!!
@@Jadorelainie idk why more swifties don’t talk about it
This album is what made me a Swiftie! I was going through a terrible heartbreak and the song Red really resonated. State of Grace is my favorite. Many people consider Red to be Taylor’s Magnum Opus. I wouldn’t go that far considering her other work, but there’s something really special about it imo.
not the stay stay stay at the end 😂😂😂😂😂
i really can't listen to that song and I'm a huge fan of taylor, been for years.
I LOVE the themed outfit. Immediately hooked.
to answer your question, ATW10MV is like the definitive version among most swifties lmao I fully have not listened to the regular version since it came out. it could be because ATW was already my favourite Taylor song at that point and is truly a staple of the community, but when the ten minute version came out it became the only version most people listened to. idk when I listen to the standard version now it just feels like it's missing something. fr though I'm not joking when I say I would listen to it on loop for literal hours every day for months, it literally became a measurement of time with my friends like we would say "okay the store is only one ATW10MV away" and shit like that kjfhsjhfsdhfk
Yes. This.
I listen to the normal atw because of the rock vibe it has
GIRLLL MY FAV ALBUM
Omg my favorite album! I’m loving your Taylor reactions, so many so quick!! ❤🔥
As a Red born Swiftie this was an amazing experience to re-live...♥️ This album changed the way I listened to & consumed music forever...
Red being her best title track🎉State of Grace being one of her best album openers✌🏾Love the way she grows into Treacherous
On another note...I dare say in true swiftie fashion I see what you did with your blazer❤
Your hair ate down too😍
We dont care abt the original, we stand with the 10 mins version
😂my baby sister will fight you to the death...
Renegade and the Alcott r soo good and Taylor is featured on them!!
Going from „i dont like this song“ to singing and dancing along is so hilarious and also same girl, same.
I've been waiting for this to come out in youtube so bad!!! Thankyou! Love your reaction❤
I didn’t like Taylor until I was 26 going through my first big heartbreak and this album totally changed my perspective on pop! I’ve never been a huge fan of Rep/1989 but what helped me with Rep was to watch the live versions of the songs, they’re SO incredible, same with rock versions of I knew you were trouble and we are never ever getting back together.
This is the album that made me a Swiftie! I was never into country and didn't give those albums a chance until much later in life.
You like so many of my favorites! I Almost Do, The Last Time, Begin Again (All Too Well ten minute version goes without saying)
Can't wait for part 2!!
I love how you match the outfit to the album
You were so cute taking notes! I'm glad that you liked Sad Beautiful Tragic it's one of my favorite from this album with Come Back... Be Here, Starlight, Treacherous, All too well 10, Forever Winter, Holy Ground and 22 (yes I know I didn't like the song before either but it's perfect for dancing). Ronan has also a special place in my heart, it's heartbreaking and it's a lot of cries when I listen to it. Oh! And Nothing New is also one of my favorite. I can't wait for part II :)
love ur taylor reactions!
oh you'd love the earlier albums! fearless and speak now
I’m really enjoying your videos so glad I found your channel❤❤
Love your reactions! omg… I’m just starting myself but what a ride!
I prefer All Too Well (10 minutes version) than the original version, because it helps me calm down, emotionally. Don't know how and why, but it is what did to me.
Watching you react to state of Grace took me back to when I first ever heard that song 🥲 almost made me emotional ngl
i’m sooooo so so excited for your reaction to midnights
if you like rocky taylor so much speak now has good rock songs also a rock band collab you should check it out and not the least its a whole self written album all 22 songs self written
I also loved how you understood the tracklist!!! she once said that its a chronological story
Instead of 1989, I think u should get into speak now next bcos almost every song has the guitar solo that u like
Red is my favourite album after 1989! Cant wait for 1989 tv Reaction!!
Best vault of all the Taylor’s Versions!! Can’t wait for you to react to those
this is my favorite taylor album and about stay stay stay people usually hate that one but it's one of my favorites from red, it just makes me so happy and I really love to dance to it.
I mostly agree with your opinions so far, so please keep going! Excited for part 2!
girl i listen to all too well 10 min version 144 times a day (an entire day i hope i had to do math for this)
wait, I absolutely LOVE that you read the prologue first! it def will give you such a cool inside of what the album it´s going to be
This is a great reaction, so interesting to hear your thoughts. Also, I love your hair!
you should really watch 1989 world tour after doing 1989!! she does some rock versions of her songs and we are never ever getting back together rock version has some of her best vocals ever
Love your reaction! Thanks❤️❤️
okay ive watched some videos now and i have decided you are the most beautiful human i have ever seen
Love this vid! In part 2 you should listen to Safe & Sound and Eyes Open, not technically on the album, but are on the "bonus version"...? I guess? Anyway, i'm so happy you like this album, since its my favorite.
Red is top 3 in her discography for me, behind folklore and ttpd!
It’s so much fun to be able to relive my own journey to becoming a swiftie by watching you react to her albums! 🫶🏻
