those missiles do have a sweet spot in range where they're really good. too far and they're slow, too close and they pile into the floor
They actually are what clutched the end fight with allguazu so I have to give them their due respect. When they come through I do like the x pattern they do because most of them time we're ready to dodge left and right but I think missiles need a minor buff overall.
I'm not found of that flight pattern but they seem to be built for when the target is just entering mid range, by then all six missiles should have converged and are primed to do maximum acs strain
@domomosh the X pattern they have pairs well with missiles that have a straight flight path. If you launch both you make this small wall of missiles that are hard to avoid without taking SOME damage. Good for endurance builds that play the long game
@@domomosh only if they nerf the stagger loop a bit, the game is way too stagger heavy for a missile buff to be anything but oppressive

I definitely feel like of all the Preset Builds that got hit by the Songbird nerfs Nightfall definitely was one of the worst. Mainly due to the fact that unlike a lot of the other builds Nightfall Raven relies a lot more on how it chains the weapons together and it's jack of all trades master of none nature. Something tells me that Nightfall is a build that was designed for a very specific play style that it now can't do as well because of the Songbird nerf to it's reloading time. Kinda like how Steel Haze is designed 80% around the pure speed and absolutely abusing that laser slicer, but even if the Laser Slicer got nerfed it would still be arguably fine because you're mostly gonna be using it on stagger anyways and even without it Steel Haze is fast enough to leverage that over the weaknesses of it's build.
Plus it still has Ransetsu and Ransetsu is arguably one of the best Assault Rifles in the game. I'd argue if Nightfall had either better missiles or Earshot instead of Songbird shoulder weapons it would be a menace.
Wow I didn't even consider that despite discussing with chat how they got nerfed after the docked pca warships would survive with a sliver of AP. If it wasn't so much effort to go to a patch before they got nerfed I'd be interested to see how much of a difference that'd make. I definitely think swapping out the shoulders would be beneficial for Nightfall and would make your life a lot easier.
There's actually another variant Nightfall if you use a premade save mod where someone extracted from the data store in game. It the 2 handhelds on the right and it's own unique corks generator so I wonder if that'd fair any better as a aggressive chase and accumulate overload build.

The pilebunker is such a blast to use when you time the charged version. It is so fun 1-shotting or almost 1-shotting enemies.
Oh yeah for sure there's a real satisfaction to just how much oomph it has and it's like no matter what you got it has the potential to wreck someone's day rq. Appreciate you coming through again!

What pissed me off in the wallclimber mission is when you scan the downed Volta, I mean what the hell?? these guys would have gotten SHREDDED by his firepower hands down lol
I thought this for awhile too (and still kind of do lmao) but now I question if the juggernaut just whittled him down while the ground MT's distracted him. Though we see some wrecked MT's there's no telling just how much personnel RLF had stationed and raining down attacks and though they failed I'm sure Balam at least put a dent in the forces that are left by the time we get there
If Iguazu hadn’t gone AWOL, then G4 Volta would have survived.
I really like rocking a build that keeps the default head and chest and slapping on the Basho arms and wrecker legs. It's effective with the right internals/weapons and yet it looks like a more rugged, low performance machine. Ace pilot rocking a highly tuned but mechanically lackluster mech/vehicle is one of my favorite tropes of the genre.
I actually did this and BOY WAS IT A BLAST! The build is solid in my opinion. Versatile and fun!
Despite my frustrations in the video I actually did like most of the build! Just feel like it needs some minor tweaking for my own personal tastes but I can see myself eventually doing a tier list and right now they're in the upper brackets for sure! Thanks for giving the video a watch!

Little tip, though you might already know: if you get staggered, you can use any core expansion to instantly break out of it and get out of any sticky situations (though if you have pulse armor, you're better off popping it right before you get staggered)
Appreciate that! I know about it but it seems like my brain is selectively aware of it and other mechanics. Might be the result of using is many characters without expansion or the poo brain lmao. I've gotten better about it though! It's come in clutch for some of the upcoming runs.

I'll make sure to clear this up in the future but since the Chatty run I've been using the no restrictions mod so I can play the illegal entry mission for the sake of the video's "story". I'll make sure to point that out in future videos moving forward!

A bit late, but given the crash area of Nightfall when you find it at the start of the game, I think the PCA may have ambushed him while he was still in the transport cause you can see a transport helicopter sticking out in the crater opposite of him. Maybe the transport helicopter crashed and took his AC with it, but the original Raven may have gotten out before that and snuck away

I'm actually currently playing Rokumonsen*. So far the stuff I have recorded that I'll start writing a script for this week is o'keefe and I have footage for sulla and a unique run in doing rn. I actually was hoping to have y'all vote on the next one for a first person run! (edit was that I keep calling Rokumonsen the Ransetsu lmao)
I keep suggesting Monkey Gordo but the coward keeps avoiding it! JK, we gave it a try but the build is so incredibly bad there has to be some modifications to it.

For my own nightfall raven playthrough i used a more beefed up version of the AC with some coral tech upgrades 😅
There's actually a video I'm gonna do covering a hidden 3rd gen that boss Walters Hal uses. There's a reason it's related to raven but it's funny that you did that upgrade
what pedals and joysticks are you using? do you need a mod to use them on AC6? I would love to try that myself
Honestly the pedals aren't worth the price if this is all you're using them for but logitech flight pedals and dual thrustmaster t16000m's are what I use. I have a video covering what you'd need to make it work but there's no mods necessary. I play PvP and tournaments with this same setup!

Thank you so much! They're the logitech flight pedals but truly these aren't necessary and you'd be better off going with something cheaper and more ergonomic. The thrustmaster t16000m flightsticks are a great entry level point to try out though

How did you bring a custom build into the first fight? I’ve beaten NG++ unlocked everything except the coral oscillator which I’m working on now. Haven’t been able to enter the first mission except with the preset
Awesome run, I can’t stand dropped inputs, it tilts me like nothing else. I can tell when I fuck something up like mis inputting or freezing up and not inputting at all, but it is so painful when I am inputting and the game drops. I feel like it happens more often in this game than other from games
Honestly it feels like it's mainly some weird thing that happens with my software for combining my joysticks and pedals because it also does this weird thing where I'll start flying or dodging for no reason too but I occasionally I do notice I'll be like "yeah I swapped to my melee weapon back to my other left hand weapon" then I do a melee attacks and I'm like wait wot lol
Definitely frustrating when it happens in a key moment

as someone who has beaten this route with Nightfall(controller only) I commend you. This was not easy.
How is the game with sticks? I play Star Citizen, mostly PvP, and thought about using my dual VKBs, I just wasn't sure how easy tracking would be. And movement.
So I had to adjust my curves in joystick gremlin or else the camera would be obnoxious with the deadzone but aside from that it was a seamless transition and is legitimately the only way I play now. I have another video on my channel going over what resources I used and how I have my settings that I can drop if that'd be if help! I'm considering trying something other than joystick gremlin though because there's times where I'm not even at my desk and it'll register an input which can get frustrating in the middle of a good attempt. I don't think it's the equipment but it's hard to know without further testing. Aside form those 2 things it's such a blast to use and I'd totally recommend trying out your set-up.

I think the main thing that bugged me about the nerf is in most cases it's just like "why wouldn't I go with earshot now" I still enjoy them but my first run of the game was plasma on the right side with song birds and my melee on the left and it doesn't feel quite as satisfying but I can also see why they were nerfed. PvP balancing is such a delicate matter
With how good bazookas and earshot is rn you could prob buff songbirds back to OG and they wouldn't feel insanely out of place. However the damage should stay nerfed. But original reload and impact should be given back
@@danestambaugh255 I agree with you on that one. I had the same thought last week. They have been feeling underwhelming as of late. Because right now the only good back mounted bazooka Is indeed the earshot. And that shit is real heavy. We need a lighter option.
@@RhythmRabbyt problem with songbirds was that two of them together did like 6k damage on a stagger. Which is way too much. Should've just lowered damage and adjusted damage for strained AC's and they would've been fine. They're grenade launchers so they're already niche in use. There useless against airborne opponents and somewhat of a liability on even ground. You have to have height on your opponent or stagger them to make them useful

As far as I'm aware it'd be pretty difficult to implement on xbox but I haven't remotely looked into the possibilities. I play on PC so I use a 3rd party program that let's me use both Logitech's Flight Pedals and ThrustMaster's T16000m's which normally would not get along. im honestly surprised you took on the C weapons in the strider escort mission without the bad cook
I only use the loadout of the preset for each characters build with the exception of the ice worm mission just for the sake of time but once I get to brute that'll happen!

My Sulla run went much better though so I hope you'll be happier with my performance when I get that uploaded!

lmao Yamcha'd corpse. Idk how I never thought of that. I actually really think they faked their death after seeing the cratered nightfall build's specs. There's a mod that extracts data from it, among various non-playable AC's, and that version of Raven has a unique coral generator that's cracked out with it's performance. I might post a short about it sometime!
