Thanks Matt. Just hooked this unit on my titan and was confused at the double structure scan view. Called Lowrance and they did not tell me to change the view on one of the views to Down instead of left and right. They had me send pics to figure out the issue. I almost returned it lol. You cleared it all up, great video, easy to understand, awesome job bro. Thanks again.
Hi I have just set up my sounder and spent about one hour trying to figure out how to select the down scan function and I got fed up and went inside, I then thought to have a look on RUclips and found your video, what a great help you were thank you
Great overview! Thanks. Just picked up the Elite 9 Ti at Cabela's for $599 today. Feel like I darned near stole it. Should have bought two of em. Now I have to wait until spring to play with it.
just got my Ti 9 9/19 I find your video very helpful. I have my main page setup with everything i want with the exception of water temp to display under the Depth display
jeff Lee Go to whatever screen you will be looking at whether it be while you’re fishing with sonar or maybe running with a GPS map, once you’re on that screen hit the Menu button and then you will see on the bottom row edit overlay data, select that and go in and add depth and then save before you exit.
Thanks for the overview video, I'm looking at getting one of these units, they have some great features. I will be connecting it to my main motor as well as my trolling motor. Great job on the video, looking forward to future videos.
Thanks Matt im watching this video from Australia thank you for this well explained video it was very helpful to me as i just purchased that same unit cant wait to install it in my Northbank 550 cuddy cab once again thanks.
Your video is great. I find this unit very good but very hard to learn to operate it. I'm sure with time it will become a great tool. I would like to see a video on working it with my cordless trolling motor. Again THANKS
Hi great video, it has helped me a lot, when do you think you will be doing others on the elite 9 ti. I find it easier watching videos like yours instead of trolling through all the pages in the instruction manuals. Thanks
Good info. I wonder how to correlate the scroll speed to the boat speed for an accurate picture of whats happening under water. Should I get used to adjusting very often ?
I have the elite ti9. It’s linked to my 2016 through nmea2000. All is good but... I can’t get the trim to read correctly. The gauge doesn’t move at all while raising or lowering motor. I only see movement on gauge if I manually move trim limit/sender switch higher than normal range of motion. Almost seems like I need a different cam on switch. Any ideas ?
Thank you for your video! I have a question, is the unit pre loaded with the CMAP, inland waters of US? My unit came with a card that details CMAP “inland + Coastal” which I will be fishing off of the Louisiana Coast. Do I install this card? I haven’t even had time to thoroughly look at the unit to even see where a card actually goes. Thanks-Jim
In your opinion do you think the plastic mounting bracket is sufficient and durable? I’m mounting the 9 ti at the driver console and the transducer will be on the transom.
I have the Elite 9 ti total scan which has the large 9” transducer. I haven’t had it on the water yet but I’m trying to set up the overlays. It has the time and water temp but I don’t see speed on the screen. This model will show GPS speed right?
Great video man. I just got home from bass pro picking up the 9-Ti. Really looking forward to getting this bad boy hooked up to my brand new Mako 21LTS. A couple of questions. 1..Does the Gauges button work with my Mercury 4 stroke motor? I really like the feature of being able to read what your motor is doing. My buddy has a Simrad GO7 and it actually measures the battery voltage on his cranking battery. That's important for tournament bass fishing since you got electronics on, livewell running, etc. Do you see a voltage meter on your unit? 2..How does it work while running on plane? I had an Elite 5 for around 5 years and it drove me nuts that i couldn't read the bottom once i got out of idle or slow speed mode. 3..Do you recommend any particular map for it? I will be using the boat mostly for Florida Everglades and Lake Okeechobee but also live 5 minutes from Black Point marina so there will definitely be some saltwater days. 4..I have a minn kota riptide 112Lb trolling motor with i-pilot. Will this unit communicate with it or is it limited to motorguide trolling motors?
1. Yes it will but you will need to get a special connector to go into the mercury sold by Mercury. The parts counter at your local BPS can order it. 2. It will be able to use sonar at speed but not side scan or down imaging over 15 mph. 3. I would get the Natica Path NP-USA, that way you have all major lakes and stat costal water. 4. The lowrance is setup to work with the Motor Guide via Nema 2000 hook up.
In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ruclips.net/user/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
Tell him when he’s on the map screen to go to the overlay function and hit structure. Everything on the side scan will now appear on his maps, by far my favorite function.
Thank you for this video! Just ran across it. Any idea how this stacks up to the Elite 9 ti2? Is the ti2 worth the jump in price? This one seems to do about everything you'd want in a fishfinder/map and more! Thanks again!
Chad Meyer I think that this is a great price for this unit is exactly that they’re on sale for $599.97, the job up with y’all to give you a better screen resolution and a little bit faster processor. Operating system are both the same.
I can’t get my side scan to work at all! I was unplugged for over 2 months for boat repairs... need to get everything back to Factory Settings? And redo everything? But my side scan has never worked... my maps for navigation isn’t working now either, thanks for ur videos!
You helped me set up my Hook when I first got it. Now I have a different boat and just got a new Elite 9 Ti2. I was expecting it to come with the total scan, but it has a Y cable and 2 transducers.....says Dual Scan on the box. What can you tell me about this? Can I use the Chirp function? Any thoughts about this set up I have?
i got one thing accomplished today thanks to your video.. i made my depth overlay larger on the pre-loaded screen... I made a couple of new screens, but how do i add overlays to the new screens that i have made? Also, I am colorblind, so i love that #7, blue with the green fish dots palate. Certain colors contrast better for my eyes... Thanks again!!!!
Sean Solo 904 Fishing once you make your custom screens the go to the same overlay menu for each screen and do it the same as the first. I also recommend putting the overlay info in the same spot on each screen to you are not hunting for it
Does the navigation work like Navionics on a cellphone? I just bought a boat with this electronic and am watching this video for help. I do a lot of night fishing and need to be able to use navionics to guide me.
Not to familiar with the cell phone version but it has a bird's eye view of the lake. Then it shows your boat (as an arrow) traveling on the lake. Stay in main river channels and slow as you approach the banks.
Nice Video very helpfull, but ive got a question. Is it possible to Content the unit with nmea2000 to the Lowrance Point One GPS .? Thanks for your answer Regards from Germany Markus Krengel
Markus Krengel I know you can hook units to each other and the point one runs on NEMA, I am just not sure if you need a backbone and power or if the graph can power it alone.
Okay, thanks for your answer. The Motorguide Xi5 is connected with nmea 2000. With the Lowrance point one i will Seen what happen. Regards from Germany Markus Krengel
I have Elite - 9Ti I need to move the tranducer to the other side of my pontoon boat. I need an extension cable. Does anyone know what cable I would need?
Hi mate I'm having trouble with my total scan transducer not working once I go above 12 knots and I thought you would be the best person to ask, I've mounted it as specified in the Manuel and it says to mount no more than 3mm below the boat but still not working
Bearded Bass Brawler hey bro, I bought the elite 9ti with the stock transducer for $850.00. When i select side scan, i don't think it is working. Is the stock transducer able to scan a basic side scan? Down scan works fine. Trying to figure this out, thank you.
So the Total Scan transducer that has side scan is 9" inches long, if you don't have that transducer it is not the right one. The elite 9Ti is offered in several models one of which has no side scan. This way an angler can use it on the trolling motor and gets down imaging only.
You can cursor to a waypoint or enter a waypoint manually. Then you can hit go to waypoint but when you don’t have a route it will take you as the crow flies. However if you’ve made that path previously you can save it as a route and then follow that route.
Thanks, i got a lot of great information from this video..... but i was wondering, what is the best maps software for this unit.... I live in Jacksonville Florida and fish inshore only... St John's River area, ICW ..... any idea?
Great instructional video! That is light years ahead of my Elite 7, which I haven't even used yet, now I want to upgrade! LOL Academy has seemed to fallen behind in their offerings, did you go through Bass Pro in Round Rock? Thanks again for the work you are doing.
Jason Stone so if you touch the screen and get cross hairs it will Pause the screen. How ever you have to have the point one and spot lock to keep yourself oriented to the “snapshot” of your last imagine. Also keep in mind you have traveled over that view already.
thank you from France! i was wondering if it has an auto-routing option like on the navionics boating hd i use for the moment because i am going to upgrade for this one soon...
I have a lowrance hds gen 3 I want to add a trolling motor transducer for crappie fishing can I add this Transducer and switch back n forth from transom to trolling motor transducers what I'm trying to do is use my iPad for trolling motor transducer to keep from having to buy another monitor ? Thanks !
Hugh Williams you can run another transducer into the unit from the bow, might need an extension cable. You will have to manually switch back and forth. As far as the iPad you will only be able to view and not control settings
Bearded Bass Brawler Thanks for your videos and your help I'm just ing getting into the world of electronic fishing I got guide helping me with crappie fishing n he said he needed transducer on trolling motor just tryn to keep from spending another thousand Thanks again !
Jeremy Logsdon press the pages button, then scroll down the menu on the side and on of the last buttons on the screen will be simulator. Just select that and then you will see demo starting.
I had my Elite 7Ti out in the rain today, ice fishing with the proper transducer and the touch screen would not respond after it got wet from the rain. Brought it home, dried it out, touched the battery negative and it works fine. What if I put a secondary negative lead out to the top exterior of the unit so that when I go to use the touch screen I'll also touch the battery negative? Good or bad idea? Why?
Dennis McNamara you have to keep the touch screen clean and free from water drops. I just use the buttons when I can. If you hold down the pages button you can shift from screen to screen.
Mark Steele yes it can but you have to add it to every screen on at a time. Select each view, press power once and then edit overlay. Do this for each screen you look at.
Go to the screen you want to see the depth on, hit the power button once, then you will see the option to add edit overlay. Then on the right hand side you will see the option to add just select depth. Then you can go to configure to change the size and position of it. Hope this helps.
I have a Navionics chip in my Elite 9Ti GPS. Is there a way to see the navigation routes of the lake I am traveling so I know I am traveling in safe water? Please advise.
Yes, when you leave dock hit new route, navigate safe waters and then you can then follow that trip over and over again. On lakes I tend to follow the deeper river channels and it works for me.
@@BeardedBassBrawler Thanks. But are there pre-set safe navigation routes pre-built into the GPS already that I can follow, i.e. the main track(s) of the lake for navigation purposes?
@@toddselk1497 There are not. That is why the pop up at the begin says to rely on all local navigation rules and markers that the GPS is only a reference
dance4u a lot of guys like to mount the transducer to the bottom of the trolling motor, however I don’t like to do this with a side scan transducer because you typically don’t move fast enough for it to really work for you.
BluegrassBodybuilding&Fitness I started off with a nine amp hour deer feeder battery but since I have started adding so many lights and a side scan GPS I have switched to a 300 amp our lawnmower battery. It is still small and compact and fits inside of my kayak.
I am looking for a battery that will last about 10-12 hours. You would think lowrance in their manual you get with it would tell you a recommended battery size for different applications. Nope.
istra70 the benefit of the point one is you always know which way the boat is pointing when graphing. It can be annoying watching the map spin. It can also helps when trying to set up on a mark without having a bouy out.
The point one is not built in, the unit will still show you spinning on the graph. If you fish structure that is off the bank in the open I would say go for it
istra70 sweet deal then, so I would mount the point one as close to the transducer as possible and get any offsets entered. That is why you see a lot of them mounted on the rear deck of bass boats.
jezza79 for every different screen (page) you have to set up the overlay. When you are on your split screen press the power button and then you will have a menu pop up in the middle. One of the options is overlay data, select that then you can go in and add data. You can position it where you want when it has a blue box around it.
Bearded Bass Brawler is there any way to connect this lowrance to the minn kota ulterra? I know the ipilot link is specific to hummingbird but is there a different wire that can be ran to be compatible with lowrance???
I know this an old Video, But I have a chance to buy this unit at Cabelas on a Black Friday deal. Its an Elite 9ti with Totalscan, Us/Canada Navionics + card for $599. But I see there is a Ti2 out. is the Ti2 much better and worth it?
dennis moisan sorry I missed this comment I was busy selling yesterday at BPS. I think the Ti2 has some nice upgrade with a better user interface. Both units are great and it is had to pass up the price point of the 9”
@@BeardedBassBrawler Thanks for replying. The sale goes on for 5 days. They sold their 25 allotted units at the store the first day! I wasn't able to buy it. Ended up buying a bunch of fishing equipment. Lol
@@BeardedBassBrawler I ended up going back to Cabelas during their Christmas sale and they had the same deal on the Elite 7 ti except for $499. It has the Total scan and 2 cards- Navionics and C-map. The Lowrance maps seem to be good. What is the advantage of getting a subscription to the Navionics or C-map? I plan on fishing in Wi lakes and surrounding states. Thanks for your help.
joe psaila you are out running your ping speed. I loose bottom at 50ish mph Plus the lake gets pretty deep when I’m running in the main channel. So basically what it means is the time it takes for the signal to hit the bottom and bounce back up you’re already gone.
I’m having problems with my elite TI nine I try to run it through demo mode and it will not function right the screen doesn’t come up it just says simulating any help Will be greatly appreciated
I have this unit but I need help.. i have no problem mounting my unit on the console or running my wires and connecting them.. my problem is where do i mount my transducer at.. i am clueless.. I don't want any air bubbles or turbulence from the propeller messing up my readings.. I have a 2018 nitro z18.. if anyone can help me out give me a shout.. thanks oh yeah and I don't have a jack plate
Do you have lake levels to worry about? The other thing that controls that is the number of Satellites. 3 satellites to get coordinates with like 50’ accuracy, 5 gets you to 15’ accuracy and 7 or more is down to 3-5’ accuracy
The SOG will come from the GPS, the side scan and down imagining will not work that well but you should still get depth. The only thing I can think of is you are getting "dirty water" lots of bubbles around the transducer. Make sure you have the right transducer selected in the system set up under menu.
Pete jellar on the boat I fish there is a 12” on the dash and 9” on the bow. The map keeps up even zoomed in and I can read depth. I do loose bottom over 40ish mph (depends on depth) and of course side scan doesn’t work at that speed. I have zero issues with it.
Thanks, my grandpa got 2 of these and did not know how to use it. He makes me show this video to him almost every day!!!

Bobby Fresh it is third in the quality Lowrance offers, Carbon, HDS then Elite. The new Hook2 is pretty awesome for the price point.
Garmin man here.
Great help thank u
how do you turn simulation on? I followed your steps but didn't have simulation
Jeremy Logsdon press the pages button, then scroll down the menu on the side and on of the last buttons on the screen will be simulator. Just select that and then you will see demo starting.
Bearded Bass Brawler ok thanks, I didn't know that side moved too
I had my Elite 7Ti out in the rain today, ice fishing with the proper transducer and the touch screen would not respond after it got wet from the rain.
Can the speed of the boat be included on all sonar and charts?
Mark Steele yes it can but you have to add it to every screen on at a time. Select each view, press power once and then edit overlay. Do this for each screen you look at.
is the 12 mostly just a bigger screen ?
Linh Nguyen yup
how did you mount your sidescan transducer on your yak?
it's built in.
How do I get the Death to show on my . elete T9
Go to the screen you want to see the depth on, hit the power button once, then you will see the option to add edit overlay. Then on the right hand side you will see the option to add just select depth. Then you can go to configure to change the size and position of it. Hope this helps.
Hey I ruined my transducer for this unit, wanted your opinion on how to get a new one or one that’s compatible to it

Can you mount your transducer on the front of your boat/ Both of mine are on the back. Probaly cuz of the size but let me know if there is a way.
dance4u a lot of guys like to mount the transducer to the bottom of the trolling motor, however I don’t like to do this with a side scan transducer because you typically don’t move fast enough for it to really work for you.
What AH battery would you recommend using for this unit? Just got one and need to know a good battery to use.
Nope.
BluegrassBodybuilding&Fitness the $40 battery for lawnmowers from HD has lasted me back to back days of 8 hrs without charging
Any benefits of adding Point 1 external antenna ??? Just in process of buying Elite 9 Ti.......
istra70 the benefit of the point one is you always know which way the boat is pointing when graphing. It can be annoying watching the map spin. It can also helps when trying to set up on a mark without having a bouy out.
built in. I love my 7 ti. Built in my coosa.
The point one is not built in, the unit will still show you spinning on the graph. If you fish structure that is off the bank in the open I would say go for it
Thanks . Just came in the box 9 ti + Point 1 + NMEA 2000 starter kit.
Ordered Navionics + MSD .....
Can't wait to start getting a bit wormer ...
istra70 sweet deal then, so I would mount the point one as close to the transducer as possible and get any offsets entered. That is why you see a lot of them mounted on the rear deck of bass boats.
how can you tell if the bottom is rocky or softer dirt on this unit??
The more compact the line on the bottom is the harder the bottom, the more of a gradient and wider the gradient is the softer the bottom
merci beaucoup
when i split the screens it no longer shows current depth at the top left of the sonar or speed at the top of the chart...how do you get that to show?
jezza79 for every different screen (page) you have to set up the overlay. When you are on your split screen press the power button and then you will have a menu pop up in the middle. One of the options is overlay data, select that then you can go in and add data. You can position it where you want when it has a blue box around it.
thanks mate worked a treat
Bearded Bass Brawler is there any way to connect this lowrance to the minn kota ulterra? I know the ipilot link is specific to hummingbird but is there a different wire that can be ran to be compatible with lowrance???
unfortunately it wont work. I personally would prefer to have a Fortrex cable drive trolling motor
do you know which speed overlay to use to see what your travel speed is, i put "speed through water" on but it just stays on 0
I got a 15 ft Jon Boat would that be a good unit for a Jon Boat
How do you change the colour of the text?
I have a half cabin fibreglass boat what setting should I use.
Thanks

Thanks for your help.
why am i losing bottom traveling at 60 ks on water cheers
joe psaila you are out running your ping speed.
Are you trying to practice in demo mode or are you trying to turn it off.
Trying to practice in demo mode
@@luisvillacres5996 just wait for the demo to start and then you can navigate around. But it will constantly cycle back into the demo mode for store
Elite or Garmin with panoptix... I'm confused!
How do I turn on the fish alarm?
Where can I get a instruction manual for the ti9
mine cuts out when the dept goes under 4.2ft any suggestions to fix this ?
lukas hartman check to see what you have the minimum depth set to in the settings under vessel
How do u set the date
Hit menu twice and go to the system settings and the time and date will be located there. The time will then be set by satellite after it is set up.
Jadiel 254 just make sure it is the lowest point on the rear transom and keep it flush.
Sorry only Speed over ground
I can't decide on this or a helix 10
You didn’t show how to put on and take off A scope
Nice information,tq.but i want buy ,i Don't no.can have me.
when I'm tied to the Dock my curser puts me on land
Do you have lake levels to worry about? The other thing that controls that is the number of Satellites. 3 satellites to get coordinates with like 50’ accuracy, 5 gets you to 15’ accuracy and 7 or more is down to 3-5’ accuracy
No only seep over ground
The SOG will come from the GPS, the side scan and down imagining will not work that well but you should still get depth. The only thing I can think of is you are getting "dirty water" lots of bubbles around the transducer. Make sure you have the right transducer selected in the system set up under menu.
Sooo someone want to donate to me I can’t afford this
how does the elite 9ti do at full speed.
Pete jellar on the boat I fish there is a 12” on the dash and 9” on the bow. The map keeps up even zoomed in and I can read depth. I do loose bottom over 40ish mph (depends on depth) and of course side scan doesn’t work at that speed. I have zero issues with it.
