In general, the TI units are faster in response to inputs. This is seen when quickly switching between sonar, downscan, chart, and split screens ruclips.net/user/postUgkxeAxH15LxhjGlg5-CRYqjTGTEH0tbY4vk recommend The Hook units will show some lag on button pushes and screen switching. The big ticket item though is maps. If you install a mapping card such as Navionics or the free C-Map Genesis which has a lot of map detail, then moving around the map with the cursor or when running down the lake can lag significantly on the Hook units, but is seamless with the TI units.
Hi Dan- Sorry I'm late to the party seeing your video. I love your video of Sprague lake and the monsters you caught dragging the bull worm around during post spawn. Keep up the great work...I really enjoy learning from your videos!😊👍
Nice job! Just replaced an HDS 9, Gen2, with a new HDS 9 Carbon (have two other HDS 9’s also on the boat, but the Carbon will be the main fish finder). I’m hitting the lake tomorrow to Roy and find out what this new stuff is all about...thanks.
Hi. My hds 12 downscan doesn't show anything. Just a back screen with a little boat symbol on it. It used to work, wondering if I've turned something off by accidentally ???
i hate how slow my lowrance side and downscan are so slow :( i got elite 7 but are all there units that slow? i made the mistake of using a mates boat with a hummingbird and its side scan made mine look like a joke once i lernt how to read it. lowrance need to git us software update to fix it.
Ben Liebhaber Hey Ben! My personal experience with Humminbird was before their latest Megaimaging units. I had two models that quit working, so I wanted to try Lowrance to change things up. I like Lowrance's look and feel, but each person is different. The biggest thing is to get the technology, they both help find key structure! I'm confident that both brands try to put out the best product for the money. Shop around and compare units to see which gives you the best bang for the dollar :)
Great question, I'm surprised it's only come up now...I test both on lakes and then use the one with the best detail. For example, 800 burns out with soft bottoms (mud, sand) and 455 is usually the "best all around". There are some lakes I run 800, but not many!
FHC Outdoors I've tried both and the lakes ive fished I honestly can't say I see a significant difference. I may start trying 455 more often and see if I can't get a better pic. I recently upgraded to the 3D for better clarity, I'll try the 455 next time I'm out and see if it helps. Thanks!

Hey Dan, The info on the Lowrance was very helpful! Enjoyed seeing you pull those nice fish in! New Subscriber.
Thanks for another great video Dan.

Very good video. I am new to bass fishing just wondering how are you fishing that bull worm, Just Texas rigged?
I believe it was on a Carolina Rig. Weight pegged above worm.
Great video Dan! I currently don't have a side-scanning sonar setup. Do you recommend Lowrance over other manufacturers?

OK sweet. Awesome fish by the way!
Size hook? Great video!
Why do you prefer 455khz? Everything I've read says 800 is better for water less than 60'.

Great video and some good information, nice fish you caught also
Great video - very helpful, thank you
Thank you Ian!
instead of diving down you could use an underwater camera if the water is clear enough.
Thank you.
what kind of transducer are you using with?
Kirill Anufriev it's the StructureScan LSS-2 transducer.
Where the heck do these people find lakes with no traffic?
