    So what do y'all think about this "RAW" format? I believe my next video might cover the first six months or so with the Canon R5....and thoughts about the direction of this channel.

      Hello James! Great video and great to hear audio of the session.
      Can you talk about a few things in the video?
      1. Lighting- Did you build a set chart to measure the lighting from one shoot to another?
      2. What were the Profoto lights and were you using a high-speed setting on the lights?
      3. Did you use the Canon Eye Auto Focus to set the first shot for sharpness and the camera did the rest?
      4. It looks as if you shoot-for-post and a background doesn't make life easier with cutting out the subject from the background.
      Can you do a video where you talk through the production some? How is mirrorless helping your production?
      Thanks again! Great work!

    James: Found your post about this via FM forums, and I cannot believe how helpful this is. I'm currently a student at a smaller D3 college, and I do all the photography for the university. Getting creative insight into how professionals like you do the work that I try to do (without a budget dedicated to gear) is really inspiring. I was wondering if you could make a video covering your social media? I love your instagram, but wonder how you export/create images that look so high-res on a platform like that?

    More "RAW" stuff like this, extremely useful! Maybe you could show some of the final results just after the bursts of shots, so we can see the results from those specific shots right away, instead of showing them in the end.
    Questions: What AF mode are you in when the players are moving pretty quickly, some continuous mode? Do you use your thumb for focusing? Flash power settings to be able to get those flash speeds? HSS or short flash duration for action freeze? If the later, what are the flash duration you use on a shoot like this? Camera settings?

    • @QuantzPhoto
      @QuantzPhoto  3 года назад +2

      Thanks, you can see some "burst results" in the video I released before this one. I also need to keep in mind that my clients generally want first access to these images and not for me to dump them all online! 😂 Also, my next video will hopefully cover a lot of your camera questions!

    Hey James, I am really enjoying this format! Nice to be able to get some insight and maybe even discover some small nuances that one wouldn't think about to ask or explain in a video. In those situations where you have to reproduce an old shoot, how do you make sure to recreate the same setup? Do you do a light sketch for every shoot? Or do you tend to remember the general idea of the setup and go from there. I have had a similiar situation recently, where I had to fix colours in post, although the setup seemed to be pretty much identical. Greetings from Germany!

    • @QuantzPhoto
      @QuantzPhoto  3 года назад +1

      Awesome question! I try(!) to take a picture of my setups with a phone just in case this happens. Back in the day I had an assistant who would sketch it all out but I usually don't have the time for all that.
