    James you are awesome! I have taken some of the ideas you present and have convinced my wife to use in her photography. Your biggest contribution to her setup is the boom. I picked one up for her and she was very hesitant but after the first shoot out in the field with it, she loves it!! Anytime she has space for it now she will use it. Thanks for the tips and content. Look forward to the next one.

    This is an amazing setup and walk through. What we all dream of being able to do. I had two questions. First, If you have power, why are you using battery powered monolights? Do you find a benefit to not having cords vs the battery management? Second, do you find yourself in situations where you have no power and absolutely must use battery powered lights? If so, where would that be? Ok, technically 4 questions but two main with followups. I ask because building out this kit with corded lights is about 1/5th the cost of battery powered. But, if you have no power, then you don't have a kit at all. Thanks for any and all info. Loving this channel!

    Great content as always, looking forward to the Godox video. As a someone who is just a dad that enjoys photographing my kids and their team mates I just can’t justify the money for Profoto. Up to this point I have been getting by on portraits with a couple of SB800s but this year with my son starting high school I am looking to step up my game with some more creating lighting and I need to get something with more power to balance out daylight.

    Hey James, been watching your videos and work for some time now and just love what you achieve. Can you tell me something with this lighting set up, with so many lights (barr your fill flash ( I think you inferred it fired through IR not a radio freq), how do you sync all the lights with the Godox remote? Do you bank all your AD400s (the ones giving the spotlight effects) on one channel and then the outer rim lights on another, the key light on another etc. My remote only goes from A-E which gives obviously 5 channels to use. I may have just answered my own question, but seeking some clarification. Thanks in advance, Mike from New Zealand....yes, you are watched down under👍

    • @QuantzPhoto
      @QuantzPhoto  10 месяцев назад +1

      I just set them in groups and combine the lights that are using the same power like all the ones in the Pro Light Mods so it’s not too crazy!

    Fantastic setup James. Question - is the Wescott black background really black? (i.e. how much work is it in post bringing it to true black?) we have been trying all sorts of black fabrics and there are huge differences between brands and materials (we might do a video about this at some point).

    • @QuantzPhoto
      @QuantzPhoto  2 года назад

      I'm not having to work hard at all for it to be true black. Of course distance from lights and other factors contribute. My main Pro is that it is wrinkle free and semi-stretchable.

    • @LensVid
      @LensVid 2 года назад

      @@QuantzPhoto Distance from the light source is always a key to getting true black - even in our studio which is very big we almost always get spill. Is the fabric you used for the first side (the Profoto side) wide enough? to me, it looked a little too restricting, especially for athletes who you ask to move a lot. Don't they have a wider background?

    Thank you so much for making these videos! I've learned so much from your content. I was wondering if there was any reason you don't use a green screen? I started doing all the sports photos for the local high school and that includes some graphics and banners and thought it might be easier to use a green screen for those types of things. Thank you!

    • @QuantzPhoto
      @QuantzPhoto  2 года назад

      Hey Hannah, I've never used a "green screen" since you can extract people out of pretty much any neutral color(white, grey, black) backdrop and green can cast a color that will need to be corrected.

    • @villageofcorners
      @villageofcorners 2 года назад

      @@QuantzPhoto oh ok that manes sense! I have seen others use a green screen, but wasn’t sure if it made things any easier or not. Thank you!
