Thank you for your video's! Can you go into more detail about your camera settings? Also, one of your video's said you do workshops....I would be interested!
Hi James how are you? I love your work! I tried to replicate this kind of shoot , as far as lighting is concerned. So I had the camera on continuous shooting, but it took about two pictures with flash, and then the rest of them were dark. Most of the lights weren’t firing. I tried to use the same settings as you mentioned. . May ask for your assistance here? Am I missing something? Thanks so much in advance.
There is a limit to how fast your strobes can recycle. You'll need to consult what you're using, power settings and recycle time to determine the number of frames per second you can set your camera.

I just oredered 2 strobes and am literally getting started with this type photos, i'm thinking of getting 2 more strobes, do i absolutely need the 2 tall back lights right away, or can i get by with 2-3-4 lights to start.
Did you set up your f-stop in the camera or did you zoom in to the f-stop? also, how do you determine where the sweet spot of the lighting is as well as your white balance do you use it in auto? (I'm a rookie)
@@QuantzPhoto I love it! I know and feel your pain! And at least your pup has black fur. Mine have white and brown fur and it would be flying around and landing on everything... AND you would see it!
@@QuantzPhoto You’ve laid it all out in so many videos. I know of many commercial photographers but man would I love to be a part of one of your shoots. If you’re ever in the New York area please don’t hesitate to reach out to me. I’m a budding portrait photographer using a home studio but your locations are so awesome. I have a good amount of lighting equipment similar to yours. I’ll definitely be getting those stadium light mods soon to shoot my daughters high school athlete friend. Cool stuff. Thank you.
This was a great BTS video. It was very helpful, especially the way you were directing her with her eyes. Much appreciated.
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! Really appreciate that we get to see the raw photos like they come out of camera!
You bet!
Great video, got much inspiration from your bts videos. Keep it up, cheers and good morning from Sweden ✌️😀

Excellent video. Thank you for the tips and thought process while physically showing it.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video James! I think I'd love to see a video about how you pose your subjects and what you're looking for. I always struggle with that haha!
Great suggestion! Check some of my other BTS videos and you should find some of that involved.
Damn, this was awesome!! Thank you for sharing your process. Great BTS and follow through from start to finish.
You're welcome!
Excellent video!!

7' sorry I didn't describe them better!
@@QuantzPhoto You did fine. The answer was deeper down in the comments. I just didn't read it until posting.

You're welcome!
What is that beautiful looking adjustable light stand you got? I clicked on all the stuff in the description box, but I couldn’t find it. Thank you 👍🏼
I just added it with a link down in the description!
What are your camera settings?
Is the beauty dish grid?

You can work with two to start! See my "two-light" video.
Are your umbrellas set up parallel to each other?
Pretty much with an angle....
Excellent video as usual...What's the setting of your strobe lights?

Hey I am interested in shooting for sports teams but I’m not sure how to get my foot in the door, what do you suggest? I’m located in Houston, TX
Hey Chasitty, check out my video about how to get work in sports with Justin King!
I’d love to know what boom stands you use. I have a Manfrotto, but I’m always worried about it’s stability.

I wish my furry photo assistants could join me on set too! Thanks for sharing, James! Always great information!
If you only knew how many takes it took to film that outro! 🤣

Awesome stuff James. How many lights you used on this shoor? 6? Thanks for your videos, they help a lot!
Yes, six!
At 10:28, would you perhaps move to the right a bit to get more around the front side of her (as and additional option)?
Answered my own question - you start to do that at 11:20 on the next athlete.
Glad I covered it!
For Capture One, did you purchase outright or have a subscription?...assuming it's worth it just for the updates alone. Awesome video James!
Subscription and thanks!
Would love to learn from you!

💥💥 Always such an inspiration. Why did you have that monogrammed backdrop yet choose to not light it.??
They'll be pulling these players out of the background for the most part.
@@QuantzPhoto Meaning you intentionally wanted solid black.?

Nope just using short flash durations

Sure do. Just check my catalog and you'll see one titled - Making Magic with Two Lights
