I have been waiting for this review! Just purchased this vehicle yesterday. Forced to drive 2 hours to avoid the dealers asking for “Market Adjustment”.
I like the EQS just fine, see one everyday. My neighbor loves them so much he's on his second one now. Had an all black one before now has a two tone one, it looks really nice in the two tone spec.
My nephew got one of these and absolutely loves it. He bought it for his wife. She thought it was too big, but once she drove it and felt how it whipped around corners and handled so well, she fell in love with it. I'm gobsmacked!

Direct sales model just builds markups into the MSRP. If we use the Model X LR as a comparison, that went from $79,990 at the start of 2021 to $120,990 by June 2022 for a whopping $41k increase across the board with zero room for negotiation.
I got my iX at MSRP with no markup. Better range and less road noise than a 5 seat model x and $15k less, loaded. Dealer model is fine if your dealer isn’t a crook.
Any markup should go to the maker of the vehicle, not to some scumbag middle man. Enjoy your trash dealership model while it lasts. Thank you Tesla for killing it.
Actually a very good presentation. You actually are well prepared and knowledgeable. Your pace is actually right on, many on RUclips are actually too fast and can be harder to actually understand. I like your ability to keep the topic moving without repetition of your actual points. More and more people don't want leather and want animal free options. Surprisingly wool is something that surprised me by being far better than I ever expected! I would have thought - wool, no way Jose' - but now it is my top desire! The BMW iX shockingly has it available!
Favorably, this is my high-expectancy taller, spacial efficient remedy to the noted EQS sedan. Awaiting availability notification in my area (N. TX). This SUV will be replacement of my 2016 Model X.

@@Jeroenneman there was no lag throughout the whole video so I really don’t know what your talking about. Also Tesla doesn’t have an option to set the charging level at destination or at chargers. Teslas UI may be fancy but it really isn’t that useful…
Saw one of the on Friday at my local MB for service on my car. They somehow had two of these already in stock to buy for just $105,000 lol. The interior did look ace in person. But 4 inches shorter roof that GLS? No thanks.
“Coefficient of drag” is important for EVs because it directly Impacts the range that everyone is fearful. Maybe down the road when batteries will get more efficient and lighter we will get more aggressive look design and not care so much about drag coefficient.
My 2023 Ionic 5 has battery precondioning yes, my preorder 2022 was scheduled so late, build is now October, they switched it to 2023, yes precondioning is most welcome
Much better looking than the EQS sedan!! I have test driven the EQS 450+ and was not impressed by the exterior looks, the too small and too high rear seats, and the ease of entry/exit. I did love the acceleration, rear wheel steering, and the front seats. I have an S550 with the AMG package now and feel it adds quite a lot to the appearance of both my car and this new EQS SUV. I am disappointed that MB USA has NOT yet added this vehicle to their website so we can see the various colors and option packages that will be available in the US. I have the 19" AMG wheels on mine and am hoping I can order smaller wheels with decent sidewalls on this vehicle. Thanks for this preliminary review - eagerly anticipating your usual thorough driving review!
I've had mine for a month now. Other than it being bad with bumps in the road (air suspension is very stiff which makes you feel the bumps / pot holes!!!) and the ventilated seats being non-consistant with cooling, it's an okay SUV.
Suggestion. Can your camera buddy do a better job of close ups and following your commentary. Doesn’t help if he sits in the back seat and shows a long shot view of fine grain wood or how the cup holders work etc. you do a good job otherwise

Your Audio get's a bit hard to listen to for 50 min. A different placement of your wireless lav mic. to a lower position on your chest will dramatically improve your audio.(nipple level, center of chest). Audio is everything when we're listening to you for 50 min. Please take this as a friendly helpful suggestion vs some smart A.. trying to be a jerk. P.S. I meet a very nice guy from your channel in Utah during the Zero Motorcycle test. Hope all went well on his visit to my home state of Minnesota.

Can't wait to see you riding it :) Regarding the justified critics to get priority in design from the CW value over everything. Mercedes designed the EQS and SUV accordingly. I don't think they are ugly, for me they even look good - form follows function. I would choose one right now.
Yes it is. I just bought one for $10K and I love it! My wife does too since she keeps stealing it. Looks great, drives well, seats are comfy, and is surprisingly quick. I’ve also been able to work on it myself so not an overly complicated vehicle either. The hatchback trunk is also quite large and practical. I got two baby car seats in the rear so they can ride in Daddy’s spaceship. L-mode increases regen to give a sort of one-pedal driving experience and Sport mode measurably sharpens throttle response. Buy it. You won’t regret it.
@@TecnamTwin Yeah I've been wondering about that. It seems like the most affordable option if people want an EV commuter and occasionally longer drives but can't stomach the upfront cost of a Bolt or just don't drive enough to justify it but still want to ditch gas.

The problem is manufacturers produce cars below demand which allows them to list a higher MSRP and dealers to markup the price. A purchase a ZL1 Camaro way below MSRP. Why? Supply and demand.

I'm in Miami, down here the women have an anti Mercedes bias because they feel (not all obviously, but a surprisingly larger than I expected number) it makes them a target for car theft WHILE in the vehicle and parking. So, with a little sarcasm, Mercedes could have put a big Mercedes' emblem on each door too so you can be a rolling billboard for Mercedes Benz. As soon as she saw the front of the car as I watch your video on our big screen TV she said "don't you ever think of buying that car for me". Sure thing honey, I'll get you that Tesla instead lol, or how about that ugly BMW ha ha. Obviously this video is not making for a happy evening heh heh.
I am definitely interested! I’m wondering about the safety of the third row. I’ve heard the Model X is not really safe for kids in the third row because of a possible rear ending. Would this be the same? I could see us with two kids in car seats in the second row, then my son could go in through the trunk to the third row.
I don't think this would apply because Mercedes is not Tesla. Maybe you should wait until crash ratings come out for the EQS SUV, but the EQS Sedan got a perfect score in Euro NCAP testing. And also, Mercedes is typically very strict about safety.

They had to put 2 logos on the front to make sure you knew it wasn't a long Cayenne, lol! Looking from a front/side angle, the B-pillar back and haunches are very Cayenne. A very dated look IMO. Not ugly, just played-out. Interior is killer!
I'll be very intrigued to hear Kyle's comments about brake-action comparison from sedan to SUV. The EQS sedan's breaks were, he had reported, notably detrimental, strangely uneven depression distance and tension.
Imo, everything about new MB is over the top. It's like, they're tryng to scream and show off as much as they can so people would get more atention to it. But I'm from people whom like subtlety so I am not a fan of the most MB design decisions at current generation of vehicles. I hope they will get to senses and will get back to its roots.

Kyle, you are going to have to accept that you just don’t like the appearance of aerodynamic design. Ever. Every single time a manufacturer puts out an aero design, you object, “Why don’t they make it ugly like I like it?” It’s a beautiful design.
Kyle it looks like a sedan that has been wagonized. The fact that you think it looks that much different is ridiculous. From the window sills down they are essentially clones. The only diference designwise on the outside is the roof line, otherwise, they can probably share panels. Finally the second seat has 1in of additional headroom and .5 in less legroom so its not that "much more" roomy. It simply has more headroom for people above 6 feet.
Would you be able recognize this is a Mercedes if the logos were removed? At least the iX can be recognized with the bmw log removed. Glad I didn’t wait for this EQS suv and went with the so-called hideous front end iX.
Constantly walking forward and backward and forward and backward, makes more work for your videographer, camera battery, and is distracting for the viewer. Because it looks like you need to take a leak.
I like the AMG styling a bit more. Hate the shape of the back. It looks like one of those flat fast food worker hats that don't fit lol. Also, it looks better with the stars than all black. All black looks like a 90s tube TV 📺 turned off 😂.
Great video guys! I own a MYP and my friends say that it’s not a luxury car, and it’s not. MB is about luxury and Tesla is about Technology. Tesla is iPhone of cars simple to use menu/settings etc, MB is the android phone of cars where only computer developers own cause they like to tweak settings etc. I prefer Tesla menus/infotainment better. Teslas charge 11kw/h on level 2 charging, disappointing that MB does only 9kw/h; Tesla recommended max charging limit is at 90%, MB @ 80% - hence tech vs luxury. I strongly believe that the traditional automakers are making EVs as a ‘we can do it too’ movement and their efficiencies are way behind.
But you know from Phones that software improves faster than Hardware. I think Merc and other Automakers will be faster to improve Software than Tesla making good ride comfort or even good looking cars. Also Tesla UI misses things like charging level at destination.

Happy for you! I purchased 450+ 3 days ago but it’s still at dealership after they discovered defect with windshield obstructing radar and camera.
@@EVcommute - tomorrow is the day for pick up. Do I need to check specific? How is windshield/wipers blocking the view of radar/camera?
During test drive I couldn’t engage cruise control. Error codes revealed the issue. Service department discovered moisture under the windshield

Don’t fight it. Direct sales is the way of the future. Markups will happen, regardless. With middleman, situation can only get worse.

I drive a Tesla Model 3 Long Range but I miss my Mercedes CLS 550 interior! I don’t miss the BS of having 2000 moving parts to worry about!

I have EQS and i love the EQS SUV design, I think i will buy it for my wife.

How can someone deal with leather seat creases like you mentioned?

If you have to put LEDs around your seatbelt receptacle to stand out in the market, your car probably isn't that great.
The non-AMG front end has less drag coefficient and improving your distance
I guess that's why in the case of the sedan, the 450+ and 580 4matic have the 0.20 CD drag coefficient, while the AMG model has a 0.23 CD coefficient.

Kyle, you are going to have to accept that you just don’t like the appearance of aerodynamic design. Ever. Every single time a manufacturer puts out an aero design, you object, “Why don’t they make it ugly like I like it?” It’s a beautiful design.

Kyle it looks like a sedan that has been wagonized. The fact that you think it looks that much different is ridiculous. From the window sills down they are essentially clones. The only diference designwise on the outside is the roof line, otherwise, they can probably share panels. Finally the second seat has 1in of additional headroom and .5 in less legroom so its not that "much more" roomy. It simply has more headroom for people above 6 feet.
Would you be able recognize this is a Mercedes if the logos were removed? At least the iX can be recognized with the bmw log removed. Glad I didn’t wait for this EQS suv and went with the so-called hideous front end iX.

Constantly walking forward and backward and forward and backward, makes more work for your videographer, camera battery, and is distracting for the viewer. Because it looks like you need to take a leak.
I like the AMG styling a bit more. Hate the shape of the back. It looks like one of those flat fast food worker hats that don't fit lol.
Also, it looks better with the stars than all black. All black looks like a 90s tube TV 📺 turned off 😂.
Great video guys! I own a MYP and my friends say that it’s not a luxury car, and it’s not. MB is about luxury and Tesla is about Technology. Tesla is iPhone of cars simple to use menu/settings etc, MB is the android phone of cars where only computer developers own cause they like to tweak settings etc. I prefer Tesla menus/infotainment better. Teslas charge 11kw/h on level 2 charging, disappointing that MB does only 9kw/h; Tesla recommended max charging limit is at 90%, MB @ 80% - hence tech vs luxury. I strongly believe that the traditional automakers are making EVs as a ‘we can do it too’ movement and their efficiencies are way behind.
Just saying a car charges in kw not kwh. EQS support 22kw AC optional.
But you know from Phones that software improves faster than Hardware. I think Merc and other Automakers will be faster to improve Software than Tesla making good ride comfort or even good looking cars. Also Tesla UI misses things like charging level at destination.
Not to mention the rude price of new Teslas
