    Great experiment. I would have never thought of rooting hormone in water or perlite. Do show us how they do. Thanks.

    This is extremely interesting. I have been trying mine, in soil, and water, and I'm just not getting anywhere. But this experiment looks like it's worth trying. I'm going to be doing that today. Looks so interesting, I hope it works, so bad. Thank You. I'm in Alberta Canada

      Yes once they swell and you see small roots you can go ahead and plant them seems to work well. Let me know how it goes.

    Great experiment! I wonder if it's ok to water the actual cactus with that roting hormone once in a while to make it beefier. I have a cactus that grows kind of thin... Maybe that's what that use in professional greenhouses to make their plants so lush, strong?

      I would give it a try just dilute it well and use warm water to help it dissolve. Let me know if it helps!

    Hello 👋 thanks for great videos! I have some segments at home from a peach thanksgiving cactus but my patience is soon over😢 they seem to rot very quickly on me... but I did callus them over but still... regards from Sweden 🇸🇪 Matilda ❤

      Hi Matilda great to hear from you. Hope the ones that calloused over survive. Have you tried starting them in clay pots? Let me know how you’re starting them maybe I can offer some ideas.

      @@creatingmygarden thanks for your reply, it’s not always youtubers actually answers their subscribers thank you! Me too actually did a experience during my days of and have tried three different ways to propagate them. Unfortunately I do not owe any clay pots ( they are to expensive here) but some I pot up with mix of orchid and cactus soil/mix, and some I tried with toilet paper moist and the last one in water propagation with a tiny bit of root hormone in it... I watch a lot of RUclips on how to but they seem so sensitive and easy to root... sorry for my English I hope you understand my meaning and my point 🤪👍 have you ever had any that rotted for you? The segments from this peach colored Schlumbegera that I’m trying to propagate the thing is that I bought the plant this November and a few weeks after I’ve had it home segment after segment just fell of the plant... isn’t that strange...?! So I’m trying to save it, the color is unusual here... I wish You were my neighbor ha ha 🥰

    Have you ever tried pollinating or cross-pollinating your cactuses? I have done it on a couple of mine but it takes the seed pod a long time to reach maturity. I have one that I've done and it's taking it over a year and it still hasn't dried out. I can't wait till it does so I can see if I can plant the seeds and get them to grow. I have crossed two different kinds of red and a yellow red. I wish I could send you a picture of them but I don't know how to do that on here.

      I haven’t tried that but I should. Send a picture to my email mattychilly5@gmail.com would love to see them. I might have to give that a try it would be fun to see what colours I could create.

    Have you tried rooting them directly into potting soil with rooting hormone? Bonny

    • @creatingmygarden
      @creatingmygarden  7 месяцев назад +1

      Hi Bonny this was just an experiment to see what other methods work and how they would work. More of a mad scientist thing lol!

      Just wondering what the difference would be.@@creatingmygarden

    • @creatingmygarden
      @creatingmygarden  7 месяцев назад +1

      @richbishop7896 just to use different mediums besides dirt to see how well they would germinate something different. I have done other videos germinating seeds or cuttings in dirt like the hydrangeas so wanted to try something different all in fun. Also trying to make different videos where I can to make things fun/
