HAHAHA! 15 minute video could have been 2 minutes, but then I'd miss out on the old-man groaning and folksy wisdom. Loved it! Exactly what I was looking for on my boat too!
I use a 58" "canopy" umbrella from Walmart (5$ on clearance) that I attached to the back of my seat using PVC and a couple of "U" shaped aluminum pipe holders (1.50$/4) to secure the PVC. No hassle of folding or tying anything down. When closed you can either stow the umbrella or simply leave in it's holder. Also you don't have to fish around the tie downs as the fish does it's best to escape.
Yooooooo… This video reminds me of me working on my boat. Lol lol. Learn as we go baby. “800 buck..nah.. How about $40.” Loved it. Great video my man. Keep them coming.
Got to say I have watched this video multiple times and you seem like a pretty down to earth dude. Good for you and I'm happy to join your $40 dollar shade club :)
Great video. Great idea and great presentation. I was looking at custom shades for my 32' Center Console which cost close to $2,000. I started to think of ways to make my own which included braking out my wife's sewing machine etc etc etc. Then I came across your video. Perfect. I look forward to making it in time for the weekend. Thank you for your video and l liked your humorous approach to it. Cheers....
Thats about all NASA is capable of really. Not A Space Agency and Never A Straight Answer. The only thing that went to the Moon was your IMAGINATION. It's FLAT! Nice shade.
Hey man a really helpful video. Panning sometimes sommelier and got some great tips. I enjoyed the humorous manner presented in. Good job man some people have a way of complicating things in videos.
I'm kinda mad at my self for removing and filling in my bimini top strap holders. I could of done this without having to drill. I have bow rail to run the bungie to.
Sold that boat but the current owner tells me he absolutely loves it and uses it all the time. To be clear though he does not use it underway and only when anchored.
Never really did to be honest. It's fairly stout but anything more than a high idle would probably be a bit much. We used it mostly at the sand bar and when relaxing.
Great video. Will be copying this design for my boat. The girls will very much appreciate the added shade

Very cool! Great idea. I see that you save everything too. Never know when you might need it! (that's what I always tell the wife!)

Nice boat, if I didn't prefer aluminum I think I'd go w/ that same boat.
looks ok
Sweet!
Good job.
good stuff
Wind will stretch bungy cords, making top flimsy. Use pipes instead of bungy cords.
I to have a porcelain skin wife 😂 the damn T top is not enough.
Good job man!
Great idea, how is side to side motion?
Never used under way. Was always an anchored up shade system
Can you list (and maybe link) the materials you used in the description?

How is it holding a year later? I been trying to build one for my boat much needed

How much did you pay for the boat? I want that exact boat but man they run 30k atm
I actually sold that boat. Got $15 before the market went crazy. Now they're going for 20-25 somehow. That's a 2011. Insane.
Pitter patter😂
Let's get atter'
How fast can you go with it out like that?
Never really did to be honest. It's fairly stout but anything more than a high idle would probably be a bit much. We used it mostly at the sand bar and when relaxing.
That is some hillbilly @#$% . If was funny to watch though.. Bob is not my uncle... LOL 😂
How to make a $40k boat look like it is worth $25k but at least, you have shade.
Fucking love nasa
