After watching your video, I decided to break my Samsung down for maintenance and clean out all the lint. I found my idler arm was seized and had about half the wheel chewed up by the belt. I found a local parts guy and paid way too much for the convenience of having it today, but it's replaced! I tested the other components as you demonstrated and they tested good. I cleaned everything and put it back together. 4 years later and your video is still making a difference. Thanks for saving me money and time by discovering the defect before it caused a failure! Most appreciated.

I’ve replaced the heating element twice and changed the belt and pulley once on my dryer. I’ve never fixed any kind of appliance prior to this but this video made it look so simple and gave me the courage to do so. Thank you for this video! I refer back to it every time. Not giving up on my dryer just yet thanks to you!

Great instructions; no nonsense. Got mine disassembled and found a broken heating coil. Parts were only $25 including sensors. Was thinking I got off easy, then cut myself removing lint with a towel. As you mentioned, some edges are unexpectedly sharp. Cleaned the rest with gloves. Anyway, works fine again. Thanks for the video!

So easy to follow. The repair guy came the other day and said we voided our warranty because there was too much lent inside. Found this video after and I already opened up the dryer and cleaned all up. Just waiting for the parts to get here. Now I can fix my dryer without the repair guy. Thank you!

Thanks for this video. We searched high and low for information regarding opening up the front of our Samsung dryer model No. DV50F9A7GVW/A2 The one on this video is exactly the same as ours. Our problem was a noisy, vibrating operation. Being confident it was excess lint build up in the wheel, we wanted to fix it ourselves. We are a 75 year old husband and wife. With your guidance we were able to open the front then switched over to another video showing how to fix a noisy, vibrating Samsung dryer. remove the blower cover plate and clean out the wheel. Problem solved! Great video!

Raleigh, you are the man! It's easy to see that you've been doing this for awhile. I watched a couple of other videos, but you give such great tips, for instance, opening the top cover. What a great savings of time and effort! You also point out exactly which screws to remove -- huge help! I remember the days before the internet when everything was trial and error, and this job would have taken 3x as long if you weren't there to guide me.
To top it off, you're wearing a "Patriots Club" t-shirt! I grew up in Southern New Hampshire. Natives can get hurt for not being Pats/Sox/Bruins/Celtics fans. :-)
I enjoyed your comments about safety and I agree: there are too many critics out there, and they criticize people that are taking time to help them. As you say. you *are* a "grown ass man" and you don't have to wear safety equipment if you don't want -- this is the U.S.A!
Thanks so much for your effort and expertise. The girls in the house are happy again -- I told them to thank Raleigh!
Peace, brother, and keep up the good work.

Using an coarse abrasive on a high current contact is not recommended. The roughened surface will set up a failure in a few years, if not sooner. Go with 1500 grit emory cloth and carefully remove the coating by hand. You should go for a shiny smooth surface which will maximize the surface area and reduce the resistance.

I did one of these today. Its not necessary to remove the drum to replace the heating element. The mounting bracket that holds the front of the heating box can be removed by taking out two screws. Then the box will easily come out through the front. The wires are long enough to allow this and then you can unplug the wires with the box outside of the dryer. Unless the drum has to be removed for some other reason its easier to do it this way.

Great video, I have a similar model and your info was spot on! I had to replace the heating element but that was as easy as removing 11 screws and throwing out the bad element and replacing it. I checked the continuity on the two sensors and they were good so I was sure it was the element and it was. I ordered the element from a company for under $20 free shipping out of Arizona on Thursday and it arrived near KC MO. on Sat! I also took the opportunity to clean out my exhaust tubing as it was filled with lint. I will now check it twice a year just to be sure to reduce the chance for a fire or air flow resistance. Nice job Raleigh thanks for making this fix easy and very affordable!

What a great video. I've worked on Whirlpool manufactured washers for 15 years but have avoided Samsung and LG's because I've had more Whirlpools than I could handle. Well today I picked up a two year old Samsung dryer identical to the one in this video ($50) and ...ah crap, how does it come apart? Thank you Raleigh so much for your video. These machines are so much like four roller Whirlpool dryers they could be first cousins. Just different enough to make them interesting and frustrating if you don't know where to start. Thanks again.

Thank you, sir! My model is slightly different, but close enough - one screw less and some differences in electrical connectors. And in my case the heater was burned. Still your instructions were super helpful: easy to follow, very practical and pointing out things that are easy to miss or forget. Did not prevent me from forgetting to connect all the heater, thermostat and thermistor leads, putting the dryer together, and wondering why I still have no heat :-). But that's just my stupidity.
I really like that your instructions include removing the drum. I watched another video in which they took out the heater assembly with the drum in place. I feel that doing it that way and especially putting it back in would be really difficult, time consuming, and - with all that sheet metal - blood loss would be significant.
    Thanks again.
Oh and one more thing - mine is almost 10 years old and going strong. It's a bit noisy now but until the heater burned last weekend nothing bad ever happened.

5:30 Plug for door switch: "Just pull it apart, It may be hard if it has not been removed before." It might be impossible, I had to cut the wires, remove the switch assembly and pop the cover off the connector then use a flat blade screw driver to pry the plug apart it was ridiculous! I put petroleum jelly on it to get it to work easily. The rest of the repair was easy thanks to your excellent video. They should make the engineer who designs these things work on several production units to make sure the do a better job.

So the belt mark appeared about 1/4 inch further. However, the operation seemed to be fine. It looks like the belt does not go in the center of the drum. It is about 1/4 inch off. Hopefully, this will no cause any wear issue. BTW, I was able to find the right thermal kit on Amazon. It was delivered overnight using Prime. It only cost me $15. Thanks Raleigh!

Great video, thanks. Same issue for our Samsung and I was trying to find out if there was a "better" pulley replacement available, one with better bearings that should last longer than the OEM piece of junk that has caused so many issues. I see you used a Supco DE882C, is that a good one? Not sure if I should get the entire assembly or just the new pulley and put it on the existing arm? Also going to order a new belt even though the original is still intact. The belt part number is 6602-001655 (92 inches) if anyone is interested. Again, great job!

The red wire is supposed to go to the top terminal then the 2 blue jumpers; one goes to the bottom terminal on the element and the other to the top terminal of the hi-lo resistor. The 2 black jumpers go on the bottom of the hi-lo and bottom of the thermostat terminals. The blue return wire goes to the top of the thermostat completing the circuit. The blue wire that was fried was on the top terminal of the element that's why it was burnt possibly.

The wires going to the heating element can actually be reversed. The element is a resistive component with AC flowing through it so which wire is connected to which terminal really doesn't matter.
