Good video and a testament to your patience! I've been a licensed HVAC tech and major appliance service owner for over 25 years. A couple of points for your beloved Samsung gas dryer (and any make and model dryer) It is imperative for safe operation, and fire prevention that the ductwork is cleaned at least twice a year, as you showed in the video. Further, the AGA (American Gas Association) highly recommends never use a flexible duct for the exhaust. The ribs in the aluminum duct restrict flow and trap airborne dust particles which are generated by all dryers during the drying process. There are several types of hard duct available for dryer exhausts, not just smooth aluminum wall pipe. They're available at any home improvement store, easy to install and very user-friendly when it's time for cleaning Now a couple of tech tips for your particular 2-year-old Samsung: 1. Anytime you open the cabinet, it's highly recommended you replace your "hot surface ignitor" It's a wear part and endures many duty cycles during every use of the dryer. It is made with nichrome wire and will fail without warning and not allow the dryer to operate. Its sole function is to light the main burner for the heating chamber. 2. After a complete cleaning of the blower and fan tray assembly on the front of your dryer, coat all the flow surfaces with a high-quality silicone spray. (let dry completely before running the dryer). This cuts down on the airborne dust sticking to the plastic parts (caused by the static generated by the drying clothing) and prevents clogging or inefficient airflow during operation. Last, but not least, get in the habit of cleaning the dust filter screen in the dryer drum after each use. Dust is extremely flammable and you'll avoid a chance of fire by removing all of the accumulated dust after each use. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, work safe! Doug@ the "ranch"
Any chance you have steps on how to change the heating element on a this exact model? I have the serial and model number, and I want to do it myself I just can’t find steps or a video for this model. It’s so frustrating. Do I need a fluke meter for changing the element on a gas dryer?
Thanks for your video! First time homeowner learning about maintenance for the vent exhaust. I was already planning for the worst and researched model diagrams and parts because my dryer is out of warranty. So I decided to start with this first step because I still felt faint heat when I ran the dryer. I ended up discovering a clogged vent. I then jerry-rigged a measuring tape and clothes hanger wire to clear a 10 foot vent. It worked! haha. I feel strong hot airflow being released now. The clothes on the dryer now feel hot to the touch. Glad I didn't have to disassemble the dryer and have to troubleshoot parts. Potentially years from now, eventually things break.
All that lint is the main issue as I just had the same problem. Thanks for making the video as it solved my issue. When all that lint gets on the blower fins air does not flow as fast it needs to and the thermal cut off kills the gas burner.
I love gas dryers! I just got a Maytag gas dryer and I love it. My house didn’t have a usable vent, so instead of breaking down the walls I just installed a new one leaving through a window. The window was set up for a vent to be installed and it’s running like a champ.
Thanks for the video. This is exactly what was wrong with mine. Before I saw your video I was convinced that the gas feed solenoid had failed. I took it apart today and found the same issue you had. Cleaned everything out and it's work just fine now. Thanks again.
I have a newer version of this Samsung dryer in gas as well and I’m pretty sure it’s the same issue. Mine was clogged as well just like yours. I accidentally bought the heating element after watching another video and after taking it apart knew instantly it was the wrong parts.
We'll Scott I heard nothing but bad things about the new washer and dryers. I have a 30 year old dryer and the darn thing runs like a champ. I've only had it serviced one time. It's a analog Maytag.
I've got the same set EXCEPT...I have the electric version of the dryer. I love gas appliances and everything I have that can be gas IS gas, except the dryer. Because of the high heat generated in close proximity to flammable clothes and your problem...lint build up...I went with electric for safety reasons.
Great job but what I was looking for I hear something in the dryer maybe change not sure and it shows a symbol on type not sure what it means? Look like a small fence pic can u help?
I stay away from anything with a motherboard if possible, even though that wasn't your issue. Glad you saved money as they charge $90.00 here just have the honor to have them pull into our driveway. Always get the extended warranty so they bankrupt and you pay anyway LOL true story there.
Even thing is GE in my house. a all electric house. there electric . God idk how old they are? They just keep on ticking! Haven't done ENOUGH THING TO EM Not even a belt. just kept them clean all i do. I guess at less 10 yrs old Very happy with em> i dis like the alarms on em, there very loud he hee only bad thing i can say

Hello, thanks for watching. Regarding the Stand, I built it. 🤗. I was too cheap to buy the factory ones and my wife didn’t like them.

Hazel Lopez , thanks for watching. Sorry, I’m not sure what is wrong with your dryer.
Wish u had a flashlight is it a hot surface ignitor or spark
Thanks for watching. I’m not sure.
Is there a sensor that stops it from heating if there's no air flow??
Unfortunately, I don’t think so, but I could be wrong.
Very interesting
Thanks Dave
Thanks. I am now going to tear apart our Samsung see what happens. Let you know the outcome. Thanks Again.

Hello, I’m really not sure. You might need a new burner element. In my case, the dryer needed a good cleaning.
