Saints have had the worst luck in grand finals out of any other team - 1913: Won against the same opponent in previous week, almost snatched the lead late but lost by two goals - 1966: Our sole premiership won by a late lucky bounce - 1971: Blew a 20 point 3QT lead - 1997: Lead at halftime as favourites and one individual performance cost us the game in the end (Jarman) - 2009: Lead at every change, Hawkins poster counted as goal and guess what, the margin is 6 points when the siren goes - 2010: 2 bad bounces cost us critical goals that might've won us the flag (Riewoldt, Milne in the 4th) I have faith in our current group to get us to another one, just need to put in the hard effort.
Milne’s bounce overshadow’s it what people don’t realise we had the ball inside 50 with 40 seconds to go we only needed a point to win why couldn’t any player just grab the ball and handball it through for a point
Your players weren't clean enough with their skills. There were many half chances for a St Kilda player to scoop up a grubbering ball and just hike it towards goal but they couldn't.
In American football, ties (draws) are very rare and they can only happen in the regular season. Once you get to the playoffs in January, there must be a winner in every game. A Superbowl never has to be played all over again. There have only been two Superbowls in NFL history that required overtime and one of them happened to be last year between the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers. The Chiefs won on the final play of overtime 25-22. The other was in 2017 between the Atlanta Falcons and New England Patriots. The Patriots were losing 28-3 and they mounted a furious comeback to win 31-28 and Tom Brady, the greatest quarterback of all time, secured his fifth championship. He would go on to win SEVEN Superbowls and he appeared in ten of them. He won six championships with the Patriots and his final one was in 2021 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
That last minute and a half still makes me extremely nervous even though I know what and what happened the next week, that bounce just out of reach. Thankfully we got it right the week later.

Now Ross is back, anything is possible
Also, Winmar lost his grandfather the day of the grand final
as someone who goes for pies but has saints as my 2nd fav team cuz my dad if saints were versing any other team I would want them to win
The final margin in 2009 was 12. Also don't forget the double goal StK got just before half time, which more than made up for Hawkin's goal
@@maxshiraz3447 if it was counted a point the whole game's events would have changed
The greatest grand final ever
2005 2006 or 2018
@Soussy I didn’t say it was I said it’s an option
That's a big call to make
yes one of the best ever
2012??? ik i’m a hawks fan
I can’t stop watching this it’s so good
When Goddard took that screamer and kicked the goal, I think everyone thought StK would run away with the game, they had all the momentum
As a pie supporter it's a shame the replay wasn't as close

Where's Barry Breen when you need him?

That bounce still makes me nervous - even though I know it has a happy ending a week later!
