@@mufc383Soccer is indeed the world game, but it’s played by pansies which is why Australians have largely rejected it for more physical sports such as rugby league and Aussie rules. It’s reserved for people whose mothers didn’t want them to skin their knees playing real footy. Any game where 0-0 is a possible outcome deserves its place in the Australian shade. For decades the national soccer competition was riven by racial and ethnic jealousies which turned a lot of Australians off. The game has struggled to recover, and I doubt it will ever overtake Aussie rules in the country’s sports popularity rankings.
thanks man means a lot, although some people dont like how long they are but if you like that then thats great, i try to put it a lot of moments thats why.
It was great this one....especially seeing Buckley not winning any premership and seeing his old side prosper......also no funky around the corner set shot kicks in these days for goal 🤙🏻
Thanks for uploading these Grand Finals, especially this one and 07. Favourite youtube channel at the moment, your highlight packages are brilliantly done.
Thanks sportjunky4371 have watched highlights of 01 - 03 GFs this afternoon. Not a fan of any of the sides, actually go for West Coast but I love watching good footy like that 2002 GF. Thumbs up
20 years later, Collingwood got their revenge in a classic. Brisbane, with fire in their hearts, proceeded into 2024, but immediately stumbled in a game they dominated for the first half. Heartbreak proceeded as Coleman went down to a knee injury. Everything was against them as they edged out victories that were met next week with a defeat. More went down to injuries, until they proclaimed "no more!" And dominated the ass end of the season. Now in the finals, a hapless Carlton fell. In the second round, the season seemed all done and dusted until the resilience chipped away at a 40+ lead until winning it with two Joe goals. Now the biggest hurdle, a cats outfit that had the makings to take it all. In another classic, the Lions clutched victory when it seemed like the cats had it. Now to the big dance, Lions had the momentum from such victories and ran over the most dominant team that year.
I remember Woewoeful’s open letter to Neal Daniher in the week before this. He was bragging how demons were so low on the ladder and he was about to get a premiership after losing with the Dees in 2000. After the opening goal he did NOTHING and was dropped in 2005. Better learn not to shout your mouth out until the medal’s around your neck
The peanut who made the video. In all seriousness I just kinda blindly chose it for my first videos years ago and never bothered to change it. Old habits.
7 times they have met in Grand Finals (including 2023). The first six have yielded 4 wins for the Lions. This comment was posted the night before the 2023 Grannie
I had two sources for the highlights, one from channel 7 which was better quality but didn't have the whole match, and one from ten which was the whole match however at a lower quality. I tried to use the 7 footage where I could as it looked better but for everything else I wanted to add i used ten's footage.
Always fun to re-live this Brisbane side, one of the all-time greats. But it’s even more fun to see Collingwood get flogged at the same time. They deserved to lose by more.
@@chrisd_85 Well since typing that last comment 5 years ago my team (Richmond) have gone on to forge a Dynasty of their own, but that Brisbane team were something else altogether
+Mr. X Hawks 13-15 vs. Lions 01-03 would definitely be a close call... maybe I'm a bias supporter but I reckon the Lions would come out on top... far stronger team
+Doug Deep The Brisbane Lions of 2001 - 03 was a superior team to Hawthorn of 2013 - 15. It had 3 Brownlow Medallists in it's midfield. I think Voss, Black, Akermanis compares favourably with Hodge, Mitchell & Lewis, Throw Nigel Lappin into the mix and the "fab 4" were quite possible the greatest midfield in history. The big 3 in the forward line of Brown, Lynch & Bradshaw look superior to Hawthorn's Roughead, Gunston & Breust. Down back are Hawthorn's key backs of Lake & Gibson better than Michael & Leppitsch ? It's arguable. Johnson added the run and carry, as did Pike. Both players also played tough and uncompromising football. Rioli gets a tick in the small forward role however Craig McRae, Luke Power and Shaun Hart are easily better than the rest of the Hawks' small forwards
Haha....poor old Allan White (AKA piss pants).... you are on yet ANOTHER footy video STILL venting about Richmond... Adelaide lost the 2017 Grand Final..... get over it piss pants.
Not with your current team, they’re pretenders. Had absolutely everything in their favour this year, choked worse than they did in their 2019 straight sets exit.
Brings tears to my eyes to see what afl used to be like
Corey Day What do you mean
Joshua Habres the game was played so much better
Do you think players are less skilful now or do you think tactics have suffocated the game?
@JG-bw6luYour d*ck is small across the 240,000 other videos you've commented on. Amazing coincidence!

@@mufc383shut up soccer is gay
the best thing about this team was not seeing them win 3 in a row, its was seeing Collingwood lose 2 in a row
Anthony Kernich if that’s the price we had to pay for not being the absolute pit of the competition now then that’s fair.
Brisbane are back! Luke Hodge weaving magic.
Shut up
I had a work colleague that was a diehard Pies fan from Perth, flew to the G' and saw them draw in 2010, lose in 2011 and lose in 2018 haha
Collingchokers
Happy that Didak got his flag 7 years later. Was such a great player for the Pies
Best grandfinal ever seeing collingwood get thrashed is a dream come true

And many years ago Buckley left Brisbane because in his words he wanted to win premierships.....sucked in :)
Adam Treloar is the new Buckley. Chose Collingwood because they had a better list and would be more successful than Richmond .. rekt
Harlzen Berg Brownlow medallist and one of the greatest players ever? Awesome
Yeah mate playing ability never doubted, one of the legends. Still fucked up when he moved because he thought Pies were more likely to snag a flag.
He should have stayed with Brisbane because he would have won those 3 premierships too. Now if that is not irony, then what is it called?
He did get one as an assistant coach in 2010 but does it really count?

Funny how Craig McRae ended up being our Premiership coach as well.

How the mighty have fallen. Brisbane went from 3 straight premierships to bottom of the ladder.
They are in top 4 right now.
Only to rise up again. That's footy. Ups and downs but never dull.
Scott Burns looks like he was told to be dirty that day, didn't do much for them.
And the previous GF against the same bloke aswell, no co-incidence.
