I'm a Collingwood supporter who was at the MCG that day. This was the most agonizing, stressful football match I have ever watched. Even now, ten years later I still feel uncomfortable watching it. We all had so much invested in this game that every bounce of the ball our way or theirs was terrifying. When Goddard took that mark I felt sick in my stomach. I thought St Kilda had us at that point and that the game was lost. Then when Cloke's goal put us back in front I was over the moon again. Such an extreme range of emotions in a small amount of time. When the final siren sounded, there was a weird eerie feeling around the ground. No one knew what was happening or whether there would be extra time. It felt more like a loss at that point. I felt physically and mentally drained even though I had been sitting down all day. I can only imagine how the players were feeling. Terrific comeback by St Kilda. Goddard, Hayes and Riewoldt were all fantastic. Collingwood's defence led by Maxwell were also outstanding and saved the game for us. We were very lucky to escape with a draw that day.

When someone said "three and a half minutes" I spent the rest of the match with my heart beating out of my chest riding every change of possession. The final point and the eerie sound of the crowd realising it was a draw will live in my head forever. I knew we'd win next week. That win was so much better after the draw. Great memories for all Pies fans.

I feel so sorry for St Kilda, they have to easily the most unluckiest club in the AFL. They made it to the Grand Final 7 times and only won once in 1966 when they faced the Magpies and won by 1 point, when they made the 1971 GF They lost to the Hawks by 6 points, they lost to the Adelaide Crows (My Team) by over 30 points and then even a loss to Geelong in 2009. But the 2010 AFL Grand Final the Saints were easily Robbed from the Magpies and were lucky to get a Draw, but just win the Grand Final replay was probably heartbreaking for Saints Supporters, the players were guttered from playing there Guts out on that day, a crazy day for AFL at the time, and a Disappointing day for the Saints after the Colliwobbles would demolish the Saints. Atleast the Saints did there entire best and all of what they were capable to. AFL Should’ve discussed Extra Time Riles for Finals and Grand Finals in general. I bet you Saints fans were guttered and heartbroken when Collingwood Won. At least The Saints have improved in 2020 and hopefully in Future seasons more improvement'

I went to the replay the following week, you knew at half time that the pies were going to win it, quarter time really... I just want to see them win a flag in my lifetime.
My mate and I used to bet on Travis Cloke missing kicks for goal. It got to the point, we would text each other on Tuesdays before the game to bet against Cloke. From anywhere on the field.
When Eddie said we should have punched it to the boundary and we would have won the game all I could hear in my head was “hit the boundary line”-Ted Whitten.

As a neutral supporter this is way too much Collingwood and not enough St Kilda. It would be ok when it gets to the replay but before that it’s 80% Collingwood and 20% st Kilda
Dont follow eaither teams though I think Ross Lyon was way too defensive back then considering the talented players he had back then and he cost St Kilda a premiership. I beleive with a better coach they would have won a premiership during that period. Which amazed me when St Kilda appointed Ross Lyon as coach again this year. As I beleive Brett Ratten could have have done well as saints coach also. Yes saint are off to a good start this year though I beleive Brett Ratten could have them in the same place on the ladder now also
A defensive style can be unpopular because it can end in some low scores and appears to cost goals but you have to remember, Ross got them to a 21-1 season in 2009 and only lost the grand final by a couple of points plus getting them out of the low ladder slump they were in before he was appointed. This year a similar game style is being shown with great success which shows that not only he is a great coach but that a good defense doesn't necessarily result in low scores as a rule. Brett Ratten is definitely not a bad coach but there is no reasonable way you could argue he would get the saints to a top 4 let alone #1 spot in the season even when you say it's early in the year

My Nan bought me KFC after the game as I suffered my first true heartbreak aged 10.
I’m one eyed Collingwood but in 2009 I actually decorated my entire house in saints colours. I’m glad we won but this team deserved a flag.
