Channel Seven's effort at documenting the most recent full decade of football, aired as a 'Footy Flashbacks' special in mid-2010.
Who wants a petition for The Noughties to be made like the other decade packages? Same narrator, same format?
agree.. needs to be a chronological recap
I remember buying this DVD and being gutted at the crappy format, I think it was because the broadcast rights were spilt between 7, 9 and 10
@J G not exactly relevant mate
@J G last sentence is horribly incorrect
would be a lot better
Back to back to back might not happen in another 30-40 years he said😂
'There are more ants than dolphins but it doesn't make them superior.
Also.... AFL has a greater variety of skills, more space and more players.
It is the superior game in every measurable way.
You sought knowledge and here it is.
It may not have been the answer you craved but at least you now know@MUFC
No mate, the most important goal of the century was Nick Davies, 2005 AFL Semi-final against Geelong for so many reasons. Sydney (SMFC) hadn't won a premiership in 72 years. Davis' goal gave them that chance and they took it with the most important grab of the century by Leo Barry in the Grand Final against WCE. Sydney were labelled the 'ugly-ducklings' so much like Port's GF win just the year before so they were fighting for respect too. The team, since moving to Sydney, had never really been considered contenders nor consistently so - after that goal, they were and they still are. And they achieved it with no real superstars but mostly a team of youngsters and rehabilitated veterans. The bloods culture returned. The butt of every joke wasn't funny anymore and Geelong felt that first hand.
So with history, culture, reputation, and the future of the club all on the line, it's the greatest story of triumph for a whole club and without a doubt the most important goal/mark/year of the century!
One afternoon for Brisbane in 2004 would have also changed a lot
This was such a piece of crap compared to the other decade review docs they did.
@MUFC no one gives a fuck bro. Why r u here
Where was the Essendon&Hawthorn (84&85 Grandfinal's)so exciting.
32:39 Seems like Deja Vu from 2010
What a team Geelong were, Taylor, Selwood, Harley, Ablett, Bartel, Chapman, Hawkins, too many to name, they truly deserved 3 in 5
and yet, couldn't get 3 in a row like Hawthorn, Brisbane...
@@hinksyt2907 but they got 3 in 5
A decade that seen the greatest 3 teams of all time win premierships.
Intro gave chills
Hearing Nathan Abletts name was a blast from the past, he was embarrassingly bad all things considered
My favorite player started his career in the noughties
Aaron noughten? I love that guy
Geelong 2007 team was the best afl team in the afl era they won the finals by scoring 230 points that season
The noughties.. the decade of dour! The 90's was the most entertaining decade of footy imo
Ben cousins with two league greats
Sonny Bill Williams and Anthony Mundine
No doubt the Noughties delivered some beauties the Lions vs Pies 02, Swans vs Eagles 05& 06 I note especially so close and hard to call to the line:)
What's the music as in the intro?
'Fanfare for the common man' - Emerson, Lake & Palmer
ruclips.net/video/c2zurZig4L8/видео.html
Is that the Sandy Roberts that played for St Kilda 1959?
No
If you're looking for one on the 2010s check this out afl2010s.sportinghq.com.au/ goes over it like the classic format of the 90s, 80s, 70s
now liam ryan he flys litteratly
32:26 hit the post
Watson has clearly never gone to Docklands as a fan. The place is a dump, and it's the hardest ground in the league to get to.
Cuzzy was the best player
But Commetti says too may teams ? Wat too many teams. No master stroke yet Bruce !'
2002, 2005, 2006 and 2009 Grand Finals were simply amazing and divine.
Brisbane beating Collingwood by nine
points
Sydney beating West Coast in a defensive battle breaking a 72 years long premiership drought
West Coast beating Sydney by one point in the sequel to be awarded their first flag in a dozen years
Geelong beating St. Kilda by two goals in a hard nosed and hard fought battle for the ages
2010's has already had so much better things than this whole decade
Billy Cannolo the 2010s should be 2 hours long
Billy Cannolo No way. 2010's has been dominated by Hawthorn who deteriorated the entertainment value of the game for 3 years up until last year and this current interesting season atm.
Channel 10 who provided amazing coverage especially for the Grand Final for 9 years lost the rights in 2011 and since then Channel 7 has been very poor and again deteriorated the entertainment value of the game with very sub par commentary, awful panels who most of which know little to nothing about AFL.
Its not tough enough and neither are most of the players. At least with 2000's there were a lot of great tough moments like Scott Burns knocking over Michael Voss and getting back up in the 2002 Grand Final.
Finally the rules have changed a lot more and for the worse in this decade particularly in this current season.
I'd say century!
No other club in 100 years or more have had the same riding on a single goal/mark/game/year as the Sydney Swans in 2005. No other! Western Bulldogs last year came close... It was a miracle year that changed everything for the bloods. That year alone dwarfs anything that could come in the next 100 years. Don't kid yourself mate.
Yeah, Ummmm No
Let's talk Essendon... Let's talk Brisbane's trifecta... nothing happened in 2004 apparently. This is a disgusting documentary. 'The 90's: The Decade The Delivered' was a MUCH better and detailed documentary
The 90's were better.
Yeah for music, not footy
the late 90s to the early 2000s are the years i like to watch footy they were fun to watch but the late 2000s where also fun not saying its not
Yeah three in a row might not happen for thirty or forty years... Ten years later... Really wish they would stop trying to predict the future like that. This is definitely not as good as the 90s special.
God, getting umpires mic'ed up was a bad decision. They think they're the star attraction.
