My dad bought a 1963 SS 327-300 with factory dash tach, 4speed in 1964, same color as the one you are working on. He kept it for 9 years sold it to his brother then I bought it from him. I kept it for a while then sold it to my neighbor, he kept it for 49years then he sold it to my brother who had it a few months, then he sold it to a man in California to be restored. It was a very beautiful car when my dad first bought it.
My grandpa got a brand new gold one when I was 2. It’s the first car I can remember besides my parent’s VW bug. Always loved driving with him to the post office, gas station and horse racing track!
You are tickling my heartstrings. As I said previously, my first new car was a 63 Impala SS with the 300 hp 327, 4 speed Muncie trans and 4:11 posi. So, you are showing me stuff that I worked on way back then in 63. My car ran in the high 13's at 105 mph. Never beaten on the street.
In 2003 I bought my second 1963 Chevrolet Impala. This was a Super Sport ,409 , 340 H.P. Powerglide , Matching numbers California car with 63,000 original miles . Kept this one for 5 yrs.
Be still my heart!..Had 1 just like it in cordovan brown. 327, 300 hp, stone crusher 4-spd, dual exh, F-41 suspension package Total cost = $2,800. Worked for Grody Chev in the parts dept. Eventually added Doug's headers, Crane cam, solid lifters, 302 manifold. 780 Holley, Lakewood chassis bellhousing/blowshield, Tractionmasters, American Torque Thrust whls,..the whole magilla. Built my own shifter a la Grumpy Jenkins, used 3 spd Hurst and separate lever for reverse. Clutchless power shifting @ 8.7 K rpm. Back in the day ('68) it could run 1/4 13:25 @ 112. I loved that car. Like what you're doing to this car. Wish I was 60 yrs younger. Liked & subbed at 2.41 K now, good luck.
I wish you were in Arizona, it's hard to find a mechanic who works on older Chevy engines. I have a 1970 impala Custom and have had the worst luck in finding a honest and knowledgeable mechanic, very frustrating. And that 63 is my dream car, very nice!
Love it I'm really a 64 SS wanter but I remember my neighbor s 63 SS 283 and pwr glide blue on blue ,think he gave it to his kid and lost. Touch to bad if I found it again maybe you never know we used to pull automatic out and put in a 4 spd it was easy
Back in 1970, my brother walked a 62 Chevy convertible 4 speed 327. And it was a nice Car, he owned A. It was black with red and Car With? A white Stop top And my dad was driving it and it got wretched badly❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love the car. I just drug home a 64 myself in similar shape. Hasnt ran since 07 etc. Ended up having a mild 400sb/th400 in it. Anyways, it has some 80s aluminum wheel I hate on it. I'm torn between factory SS caps, rallys or cragars etc. Just curious, what size tires did you go with? I have a set of 14x6 wheels I could stick on it with the factory caps.
Hey you should have painted the shroud and the radiator area before you put the new radiator in bro you just rushing and you ain't doing other stuff you need to do before you finally put the new radiator in their professionally
You kind of like moving too fast you should have sprayed some black spray paint with rust stopper on that whole front area and then put the radiator in
I don't believe those were factory coil overs they didn't come with them , I had a 64 SS 327 4 speed and I was all over that car and could tell you alot about Those cars .

My father bought a 64 Impala 4 door like yours. I have a picture on my wall when I was a kid standing next to it.

Bought my first 1963 Chevrolet Impala in 1965 . It was a 2 DrHt. 283 Auto . Kept it for two yrs and bought a 1965 Impala 2 DrHt. 283 Auto .
This makes me miss my '64 SS that was my high school car. Mine had a lot fresher paint back in the early '70's.
That model ss looks. So. Good with cragar. Ss wheels
As you promised. the Impala upgrades are coming...congrats good job

Nice and clean. Good job Guys
Should have painted the compartment and shroud before putting new radiator back in !
From California Smoke
Good job.

A white Stop top And my dad was driving it and it got wretched badly❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You should paint all the parts that looks terrible
Always loved those cars ! 62&63 you could find a more Beautiful car than those ! Ur a lucky Man ! 😂✌
IS THAT 64 FOR SALE🔥
Whoa..no new control arms...that's not much meat after drilling them out. And no anti seized on the coilovers hope you don't have to adjust them😅
What's keeping the transmission cool since there isn't any coolant in the radiator while you are cleaning out the engine block?
Nice…..

Interesting Build, question what Brand of Tires did you go with
Yes that cool old car Peace out
But it is a nice job keep up the good content
Yes 63s are nice ,4 speed 409 or 327
This one is a 2 speed power glide 327
just found your ch. i like what your doing. is the impala gona be a daily
Not a daily, but at least a weekend cruiser
Where did you get that radiator? I need the same exact one.
How do you like the Cold Case? I'm looking at getting the same one.
It fits good! Seems pretty nice quality too
Still got some lifter tapping
Can someone tell me the chemical used on the body that gives it the clean wet rust look? amazing work!!
Sweet patina’s Patina sauce.
@@ksspeedshop can you accept another 63? needs complete restoration
I've watched this 63 get this far is there gonna be anymore videos on it
Yes, still gathering parts for it, working on some other projects in the meantime.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐♥️♥️♥️
What tires did you put on it?
Nexen 205/75r14
Has it got a bit of lifter noise?
I actually found the rotor in the distributor was hitting the distributor cap.
@@ksspeedshop Ah, that would be it.
What was that radiator cleaner??
It’s called irontite, most parts stores can order it, but I haven’t been able to find it on the shelf.
Hey you should have painted the shroud and the radiator area before you put the new radiator in bro you just rushing and you ain't doing other stuff you need to do before you finally put the new radiator in their professionally
Car is going to get properly re painted, engine bay, exterior and everything. I am just getting it back on the road for now.
And shroud is upside down
Fan shroud is upside down
You kind of like moving too fast you should have sprayed some black spray paint with rust stopper on that whole front area and then put the radiator in

That is correct they never had coil overs
