Being a South Indian and grown up eating rasam rice, I can confirm this is very close to what my grandmother or mother makes. We sometimes add the cooked daal as well. I love it with daal and add a bit of jeera in the tadka along with the rest , it taste's amazing. Rasam + rice + a south indian sabji taste's amazing. The sabji is like porial without onion or garlic. Juat plain cooked vegitable with green chillies and coconut. And Chana daal and uraddaal tadka
@RP-vr8fd "Being a South Indian and grown up eating [...] and uraddaal tadka" ================================================= I have quite a few southern Indians-from 3 different southern Indian linguistic backgrounds-in my extended family, I have spent a substantial number of years of southern India, and have eaten at homes of southern Indians, and also restaurants in southern India. I found that there are different varieties of Rasam: with and without tomato, with and without garlic, with and without pigeon peas, with and without pounded cumin+pounded black pepper corns; with and without onion; some Kannadigas add even a little bit of jaggery to add a slight hint of sweetness. My favourite type has, and is, Rasam containing tomatoes and coarsely crushed garlic... just the THOUGHT of eating Rice+Rasam with my hand-with lots rasam, such that it is a loose mixture-makes me salivate to even just THINK about it! FINALLY, I DISLIKE it that the tremendous variety of food that is made in southern India is brushed with a VERY wide label called 'South Indian'. I think each region of southern India ought to be recognised for its uniqueness.
I really love rasam and rice ❤️❤️ specially in winter I love to make it frequently. I like Andhra style rasam in Wich they add crushed garlic, black pepper and cumin in tadka and it's taste delicious 😋😋
I'm from South India, it's my all time favourite dish... And the way u shown and presented the entire dish is really aromatic and perfect. I just loved
I'm from tirunelveli south India south Tamil nadu .... I didn't see any dish varieties without rasam in my mom's menu.... 7 days 7 different recipes but my mom don't miss her routine work to make rasam 😄😄😄
And the varieties of rasam... My mum makes amazing lemon rasam.. and I recently tried nellika (Amla) rasam.. comfort food :) We are also from Tirunelveli :)
0:19 wo hai "rrrrasam" 😁😁 This is really healthy. Recently I started using south foods including rasam, sambhar and fermented foods like idli/dosa atleast twice a week with less oil. Extremely good for guts. If Koreans have kimchi we have achar, dahi, dosa, idli, uttapam and so on.
Ohhhh chef...ye yummy 😋😋😋 recipe bohot tasty 😋 lag rahi hai ye to bohot easy way main bataya aapne per aaj shaam try karungi 👍aur aap jab living food chanel pe pickle nation ka episodes kar rahe the us waqt ka koi pickle recipe banana plzzz 👍 take care 🙏🙏
Hello, kunal ji,you r a great chef. Yet I wish to offer few tips for rasam . Instead of adding tomoro pure you can cook tomoro with Dall. To get a watery consistency for rasam we have to fine roast dhania on a slow flame. You have to boil rasam powder ,imli water ,salt, gud ,with sufficient water for 5to 10 minutes,in this way masala will slowly release it's aroma, then add Dall water mixed with tomato.curry leaves n boil for another 10 minutes. If u want u can add little coconut milk,or created coconut in the beginning with the boiling masala. You can add simple ghee tadaka with jeera, hing n curry leaves With tadaka u can add crushed garlic whole red chilli.if u wish(optional)
Hello chief i am from south india.. Rasam is everyday food in my house nd the Rasam powder is bit different u can try without chana dal.. U wil love dt too
Tried this recipe..turned out amazingly well ..thank you so much chef kunal for the wonderful recipe.. your recipe are always a blessings for home cooks.💖
This is my go to dish, family staple and I absolutely love it. You can add jeera seeds, round red chilli and crushed garlic in tadka for an extra kick.. Plus you can add 2 tbsp cooked Dal or daal paani in the end, bring to a boil and switch off the gas.
Try this : Once you turnoff gas stove crush some garlic and black pepper on Stone Crusher add it and keep the lid for 5 min. that makes DivineTaste to feed your body, mind and soul
Certainly garlic taste is not divine, and may be of pepper as pepper is to be used here compulsorily. This rasam is purely prepared from the powder shown in the recipe. Garlic rasam we can prepare differently and can enjoy. This is almost near to south canara rasam. And this rasam with rice is superb combination.
@@gayathrishashidhar6790 I agreed abt garlic but for this recipie garlic and Black pepper gives different aroma...specially when people suffer from cold and fewer this is good...we telugu people call Kalyana rasam
South Indian foods are like every one n u show today Easy way Rasam thanku kunal apke nice pans uski link mil jaye to maja ajaye aur apne weight reduce kiya nice looking 👍 thanku onece again

South Indian food is always a blend of taste, simplicity and health.
Sir, also has plenty of medicinal values,,pepper,, Ginger, cumin, bayleaf, curry leaf, clove, cardamom, cinnamon, etc, etc.,
Every Indian cuisine is. You can't compare.
