I hope that helps with the confusion. Its a one man/woman show....they will play all the characters in the song through their expressions. I think Troy needs to grow up to know Indian music and dance. It's an Indian classical song composed by great composer Ismail darbar sang by great classical singer Kavita krishnamurti. Performed by great classical dancer and highly popular, top notch actress Madhuri Dixit. Everything in this song is based on deep classical knowledge of dance and music. Before commenting on its pace you first need to understand that it is not just a song it's a masterpiece and nobody can go closer to it as the people involved have made it worth watching and worth appreciable. We indians hold this song and this film very close to our heart so before commenting over it you need to be aware of its expanse and greatness. You need to be careful about your words.
She is basically telling a story through her song and enacting the song in her dance. It doesn't have to do with SRK. Its like a lyrical recital with dance. Indian classical dances enact stories from their texts, or love ballads. In this case it was a love ballad. And the people sitting down were watching her lyrical story telling and her expressions. I hope that helps with the confusion. Its a one man/woman show....they will play all the characters in the song through their expressions. Thats why you see the female lead being so expressive with her eyes...looking off in the distance, because she thinks she hears her lover etc. Or the part where she is suggesting the breaking of her bangles, because the lover holds her wrists from the back. Telling a story of a woman in love which the female lead is playing through her dance.
The video is set in a brothel, a classy version I guess. Madhuri plays a courtesan, she’s dancing and singing for their entertainment. The words are flirtatious, they don’t translate well into English as there’s a lot of idioms and metaphors, it’s written in a poetic style. SRK has recently lost his love here which is why he looks uncomfortable being there, Madhuri was trying to get his attention. 😬

The dance form is called Kathak. It is a classical dance form. And the lead dancer is Madhuri Dixit. She is the legendary and most beautiful leading lady of Bollywood. She lived in Colorado and raised her 2 sons there for a few years. Her husband is a surgeon. They all recently returned to a India to continue her music career. It’s a semi classical ..song ..classical kathak dance ...it’s one of the form of dance of our country ....the set up is of a courtesan....in ancient times it was one of the entertainment source for rich ppl ...and of kings ....which continued till British era ....and still exists but rare to find ...now here ...as the main lead which is SRK lost his love who got married that is ahsiwarya ...got dishearten and came here with one of his friend with disinterest but here the courtesan which is Madhuri ...liked him ..and started teasing and entertain him ....which he naturally dislikes ....this movie is an adaptation of one of the classical and treasure of India ...DEVDAS ...written by Shri. Sarat Chandra Chatterjee ....in 1900 ..but published in 1917 ...this movie is the fourth movie ...three were made earlier ...two in Hindi ..and one in Bengali ...just FYI
