I love coming back to this video every few years when I’m feeling nostalgic. Thank you again for making this.
Me too, it makes me feel sad, though, wishing for those care free days when we played outside, etc 😢
@@koldfyre4505 i know exactly what you mean although im here today because i got this message off of my youngest daughter on facebook
dad what’s that song with all those things from the 80s an 90s xx
im not sure if you’ll know what i mean but i hope ya do cos i can’t explain it no better xx
EDIT: i was born in 1975 daughter is 20
Was born in 67 and every line brings back a memory. We didn't have a lot growing up but weren't those just the best days ever. Life and living meant so much more in those days, money wasn't the be all and end all. Would gladly give up all these modern luxuries to go back to the good old days.
Hey man; Amen❤
Just found this in 2023 .. Brilliant everything is relevant, me & Mrs in tears
never stabbed each other just collected rubbers
how true seems a silly thing to say but so so true have a scrap and make up not kill each other
oh I don't know, the compass in the Oxford trigonometry set was often put this use ;-)
I collected rubbers too. Aged 42 next month 🤣😍👌💕💕xx
Born in 1972 currently in lockdown to covid19...if i had a time machine would go back to the 70s and 80s...best time ever😥
This re-centers me... I'm 40 now, but all this was my childhood, I think it's weird that no-one else would connect. Lost my Dad a couple years ago, If I want a quick flick through everything I've ever lived through, here it is. Thank you.
Everything here is recognisable to me as I was born in the very early 70's. Makes me smile but also sad, the world seemed so innocent back then compared to today.
Can’t even put emotions into words watching this. Cant find right words at all. Just the memories and feelings and lost dreams I had back then. So sad. So nostalgic. 🙁.
Born in 79 and raised in 80s, this video brings it all back! Thank you my friend for making me emotional on a trip back down memory lane!. God bless you!.
We never owned an iPad but what fun we had. Cheers for the memories.
I feel like crying that I've grown up and my little boy as missed the joy I had. If I could roll. Back my time I'd go back to 1982.
Christmas 1982 I got an Atari 2600 with Pac-Man.
I'm so with you on that I find the video quite emotional
@@T4TipsGuides 1982 end of the Falklands War
Oh my days my brother had an atari we thought we were rich.
Here in 2020 and this video was pretty much my whole childhood. Fantastic nostalgia trip.
Almost everyone thinks they grew up in the best era, but there really was something about the 70s and 80s that was very special and now completely lost.
Your video leaves me with warm, fuzzy feelings of being a kid in the UK...
Pic of Rik Mayall made me awfully sad... really miss him.
Bless him, bumped off for speaking truth.
@@zoomer1169It was the quad bike that did him in. He was never right after that.
Born in 76. I come back and listen to this every once in a while. Takes me back to a special time, wouldn’t swap those days for the world.
That just brought a tear to my eye, you forget how great it was back then, thanks so much for this.
Pat Dumighan it would be nice to be brought up when you were without the fear of being stabbed by your fellow youngsters
The Fear has got so much worse 😥
If I could go back in time I would go to New Years Day 1979 at midnight. That way I could experience the entire 80s decade from the very beginning.
I remember 80s new-year eve parties at the workingmans club. Take me back!!
That awkward moment you're listening to this on an iPad.
hahaha... brilliant
Operation
The Game lol i am too
😂
Dkbh
I was born in 79 and find myself here every couple of years. Tremendous, more simple and happier times. My first crush was Michaela Strachen. She’s still got it 😅❤
Even though I was born in the 90's I can still relate to this !
Keep coming back to listen to this every so often. The best parody song ever!
I love this. It makes me quite emotional!
me too it's so poignant
I'm glad I'm not the only one.
How life has changed so much, and not for the better either. Its a horrible World we live in today, most of you are living in Fear these days, it's really sad 😥 and what's even sadder is the feeling that things are just going to get worse and worse 😥
My grandparents wouldn't believe how this World has changed so much. I remember they often spoke of "the good ol' days", I think our 'good old days' would have been a lot better than theirs and now with our children too. So it kind of peaked in the 70's and 80's, but now it's going downwards, and that's really sad.
If only we could bring back The Good Ol' Days 😟 😥
I know I am about 9yrs too late but thank you for the fantastic memories of my childhood.only needed a little bit of let's pretend and He-man.Thanks to my parents for being AMAZING!!.(love you Mum)👍
I remember practically every item on here. God I'm old ... and now I've ended up with a lump in my throat as well. Great vid
I was born in 81, and I tell you this has made my year. Such an awesome retrospective song. So cleverly written. And almost sad in a way that those things of once was has gone away.
What a great video:) watched it with my kids.... different world.
There's moments, now I'm in my forties that I have started to feel a tiny bit old. In my head I'm thirty, but in actuality I'm fast approaching middle age. I remember my parents talking to me about their childhoods when I was a kid and finding it all very funny; now that's me with my kids. Where's the time gone??? Really great decade to be born. Way too busy to watch any of the three TV channels on offer then. We were all out on our bikes or roller skates weren't we? :)
hey man... I know how you feel, great to be growing up then.. hope your life is good my generational friend!
My dad brought me up like it's the 70s and I'm grateful he did what an amazing time to live shame I was born in the 2000s
Honestly I wish the times now we're more safe so me and my friends could go out and play
I'm also the only one who likes to go outside and play
As a 50 year old disabled mam,I remember this all! I will subscribe! GOD BLESS!
Absolutely love this, it brought a tear to my eye. Growing up in the 80s was amazing and I wish I could back just for a day or two.
I'm not even a child of the 70's or 80's, but I just really quite enjoy this song. Strangely addictive. Get about half of the references properly, still cracking.
Watching this actually brought tears to my eyes...happiness for all the great memories revisited and sadness for all the good stuff lost to world of non-communication, hate and war... Thanks!
I really enjoyed this video!! Upsetting that it's changed so much today! Growing up in the 80"s was amazing! Today is to fast paced and all about money! GUTTED
Totally agree I miss the 80s so badly
This song is a masterpiece. Born 1985 but still remember most of this.
Such a great video! I'm from Russia, was born in 1977, and memories I have are exactly the same. Thank you for nostalgia for our common beautiful childhood!
Almost brought a tear to my eyes but with a little smile on my face and a lot
of really great memories, thanks for this it's great.
''didn't stab each other just collected rubbers...." OMG I had a pencil case just for all my rubbers lol.
hoffmachine I used to collect the Pepsi and coca cola scented ones, our local corner shop used to sell them :)
Why did you have a condom in your pencil case
I forgot about the cola scented ones lol x
Superb, tear to my eye, lump to my throat. Wow I miss my younger years. Thank you so much.
Thank you Hunkygraham1 for this beautiful reminder of our childhood memories. I know you posted this many years ago but its still relevant now and Ive listened to it so many times esp whilst in isolation! Brought a smile to my face and I agree with others... never stabbed eachother only collecting rubbers! I used to love collecting rubbers! Thank you, you're a genius xx
love it.. makes me cry every time i watch it for happier, more innocent times (im sure it was'nt really like that but i miss the good old days) born 1977...
many thanks its brilliant
1981 yeah happy tears for this one. Much better times
I hear ya
Best things ever fun times great memories 👍🏻
Thankyou for the life rewind 😊🙂
I'm born in 1998 in the late 90s, far away from the 80s. I would wish that i can go back in time, so i could live in that decade... Everything was so awesome back then.
I was born in 1989 and I can nearly remember everything life was a lot better back then I believe everyone I new was much happier!
It was better back then? I'm sure all of the scientific and technological advancements since then were just a waste of time, right?
***** No idea.
aveit2013 not in n.i. if you got stabbed you were lucky because of the troubles
aveit2013 Blimey I left school at 16 in 1989 and got my first job working at the co-op.
so you are saying that people are by definition happier if hey hold a more technological apparatus then the next guy?
you ever heard of a straw man fallacy... because that is pretty much what you've contributed.
i can't tell for sure, but you sound like the butt-hurt millennials we've all come to love so much around the world for your snowflake mentality and victimhood status..
people can be happier with less... and in his perception, people were (I tend to agree).
As a girl born in the mid 60's this has a lot of great memories of being a 70's/80's kid :)
Wonderful version for us Gen X'ers!
Some great memories in here. Well done!
We never owned an ipad but us 70's kids HAD FUN! Such a lovely time to grow up in. Thank you!
This song makes me want to cry😮the last decade of freedom x
Ah this is cool I'm 41 remember it all..and found this deeply moving as it just encapsulated my whole childhood..fuck where did the time go..thought id be a kid forever..times were much better for kids growing up then compared to now..no question.
Memories of only 3 TV channels BBC1, BBC2 and ITV until 1982 when Ch4 was first broadcast, 'Why Don't You Just Switch of Your Television Set and Do Something Less Boring Instead?', Woolworths, collecting badges, playing '1, 2, 3 back to base, British Bulldog and pile-on, boomboxes, Rah-Rah skirts and shoulder pads.
Does anyone remember the continuity announcer on BBC1 I think, that would say, 'It's now time for all you children to be in bed' (I used to hide behind the bookshelf, thinking if he didn't see me I didn't have to go to bed! lol)
+catlivesinherhat Hahahahaha Yeah...
catlivesinherhat
Lol so many things happening then. This song could be rewritten many times over! :-))
Pixie boots, leg warmers, fury dice, CB radiooo :-))
I was born in 1973 so everything shown here were things I grew up with. Brings back great memories. Glad Bod got a mention. That was worth watching just for the theme tune !
I have not had a listen for a few years. The 70s and 80s were wonderful. We were so lucky to have grown up in those times.
outstanding! love the marathon wrapper should never have changed!
Keep coming back after a few months ! Love it , makes me feel real old at 37 and just a little sad ;) thank you !
KoolKleeKai same here, I've watched this vid about 20 times lol. I turn 38 in 9 days time and this video makes me sad but also brings back some wonderful memories. Saying that even those wonderful memories make me sad because we will never again have a time like we did in the 80's and 90's. Things were just better back then. People had respect for others on the whole. Nowadays kids think they can do as they please without repercussions because we were forced to stop disciplining them.
andymack79 I turned 38 in November too. They were simpler more honest times it seems. I wish I could live somewhere where it's more like it used to be. I'm sad my kids are growing up in this current world of ours. Take care buddy.
Just seen this now, April 2020. Brought a smile to my face and had a tear or two... bern living in Berlin for 20 years now and currently in Covid-19 chaos... Those were great times to be a kid!!! Thanks for the reminder!
Hey you lot I am 60 and I remember them all too, 60's 70's and 80's all good era's . Fantastic song too. Just brilliant
I must be ancient, I can remember them all. Lots of good memories tho, thanks!
OK, so it's 2020 & not only am I child of the 70s but I've just worked out how to send my phone RUclips to the smart TV, and thought this would be the perfect 1st video to watch on the big screen 😊.
It's official, we are NOW in the future 🔮.
I was born in 1975, so I got to simultaneously experience the 80s multimedia technology boom and the innocence of childhood. I’m pushing fifty now and have my memories, but this song never fails to take me back to a happier, simpler time.
Where does it go?
BLOODY FANTASTIC ! Thank you Graham
Staying up late on a saturday night watching some win a bin!
*sniffle. That was beautiful.
Loved it
this was my childhood and i was looking at it for years!
I finally found it!
I can't believe how many views this has!!! Good on you Graham! It's well deserved.- I always hear Nan & Granddad listening to it when I'm round their's. #ProudFamily
What a great walk down memory lane that was for me. When it got to Monkey Magic I just laughed, I loved that show
This was awesome, liked , Daddy loved it, he said he didn't see a ZX spectrum or a Sinclair C5, but other than that it was top stuff
Tell me who tommy kewger is please
I guess you mean freddy krueger? I listened to this video once, i can't be arsed to listen again, does it say Tommy then? hmmm 🤔
Freddie Krueger, pronounced Krew-ga.
He was a character from the Horror series of movies: A Nightmare On Elm Street, which was quite big in the early 80's
@Ava Toy Show
WOW! I took a look at your channel; well done you for getting 218000 subscribers up till now 👏 👏 22/10/21
Thank you so much for the reminiscence........ I'm a 1970 boy and bloody proud of it......there is so much you kind of forget and i think you did a great job thinking it up.....👍😀
All my family died in a car accident.
A friend made me go see a shrink for a while.
He once said to me.if I gave you some chalk and a blackboard what would you draw.
Without hesitation I said I’d draw a door and write on it entrance to 1975.
And I’d beat my fist and face on it to let me in til I became unconscious.
Nearly 40 years later that hasn’t changed.Shed no tears for me when I die.
I’m glad I was there in the 70 and 80s.
The best of times
Had this stuck in my head for days now & I'm not bothered one bit.. :D
I listen to this to cheer me up...great memories.
Ohhh memories are hard sometimes. Thankyou for the memories 😢
Fantastic, love this. 40 now, thanks for the memories. Collecting rubbers, not stabbing each other. Genius.
remember everything!! best era growing up in the 80's! :)
Wish I grew up them I’m 12
Brilliant, I was born in the late '60s and can recall all of this, If you had just put the positive memories in this would have been very good, but the fact that you have included some low points as well have made it that much better. Even without the rose tinted view, the '70s and '80s were a great time to be a kid.
Summer of 69?
@@Jackw1865 Spring of '68 and that doesn't quite have the right ring to it for Mr. Adams to write a song about it.
I'm an 80's kid but blimey, why does time have to move so fast?
My friends mum used to watch Brookside all the time and that bloody theme tune to it still haunts me to this day...
Born in 80 remember majority of these, top top video memories came flying back 👍👌
SPACE RAIDERS!!! 10p a pack. Loved it when the newsagent sold them out of date for then only 5p a bag. You're paper round money £5 a week went that bit further.
Teddy Kissinger
Ah good times
Born in 1997 but I wish I was an 80s kid I've got a Commodore 64, SNES, big fan of ceefax what an era!
Didn't have a lot in the 80s as far as material stuff but had a lot of good memories playing baseball, riding bmx bikes, swimming outdoors in the summer, going to baseball games, arcades, pinball, discovering the city, a few fights, flavored ice cups, traveling thru dangerous gang turfs, fast pitch games in schoolyards, softball, double features at the theatre, the music, traveling carnivals. But mostly the good friends and seeking them out without electronic devices. Things were so much simpler and much funner. I would never trade that for all the technology in the world. Those memories are rich.
My parents found this on Facebook a few years ago and I wish i was raised in the 70's/80's
Literally turned 40 two weeks ago. I remember all of this and more including Thatcher stealing my free school milk, that snatcher! Does anyone else remember City of Gold, I sadly had my first little girl crush on the blonde one with the gold ring on his head even though it was a cartoon. Ha Ha!
Cities of gold was brilliant!!
It had the best theme music, Andy Crane in the broom cupboard introduced it, loved it.
Katmarie100. Indeed loved The Mysterious Cities Of Gold. How about these treasures? He man, She ra, Care Bears, My little Pony, The Raggy Dolls, Disney's Gummie Bears, Transformers, Jem and The Holograms, The Flumps, Trapdoor, Finders Keepers, Fun House, Willo The Wisp, Terror Hawks, Jamie and His Magic Torch, Thundercats, Bananaman, Danger Mouse, Count Duckula, Knightmare, Pob, Roland Rat, Mr Ed, The Waltons, Rainbow, Jim Henson's The Storyteller (John Hurt hosted it) The Sooty Show, Teddy Ruxpin, Scooby Doo, The Smurfs, The Muppets, Fraggle Rock, ALF, Rainbow Brite, Inspector Gadget, Mork and Mindy, Happy Days, Different Strokes, The A Team, The Incredible Hulk, Knight Rider, and Cabbage Patch Dolls.
Let me know what other character toys and TV programmes I missed!
Seriously, our TV was much better purer and wholesome clean fun! No guns, violence, sex, just superb animation and cartoons and great storytelling, just simpler and better. Same goes for our toys.
Loved that, remember watching it when I got in from primary school. Around the same time but at weekends was Jason and the wheeled warriors and I also remember around the world with Willy Fog. All the characters were animals. Anyone remember them?
@@artfuktoker Im sure it was Philip schofield, pretty sure he sang along to the words on the last episode, I have it on and old VHS somewhere that I also recorded "police academy" on ;)
Fantastic vid.70's & 80's were great era's.
I was a kid in the 80s..left skool in May 1990 aged 16..so this was my childhood ..brilliant ..and yes emotional too..kids today...they have it all yet have nothing
This makes me cry for a long lost childhood
I love this so much, but I’d be interested to hear what non Brits think of this?
Presumably it’s just us and the Irish who get all this.
wow this is an awesome video ,thankyou so much for this doing this . its frigging brilliant.
Awesomeness
Those of us that can relate to this should feel lucky that we got to experience the greatest time growing up !!!!!
Absolutely brilliant. Born in 75 this brought the 80s memories flooding back. Played out all the time built dens, played football till it got dark, spent hours on bikes and roller boots. Feel a bit sad for my kids too quick to grow up kids today.
Dukes of Hazard , on a Saturday night !
+I Macey ... and CHiPs, and A-Team were on Saturday too if I remember right
We were so much happier , we were lucky :D
I remember all of this, I still own a Atari 2600, ZX Spectrum 48k etc etc and i'm now nearly 40! All of us kids of the 70s and 80s had the best childhood ever!!!
I was born in the 70s and someone sent to me and tbh it made me cry,😢 it really took me back to my childhood, loved it, thank you for the beautiful memories that will hopefully never be forgotten
Remember every single one! Great vid. Though i do own an iPad now..
you remember being kicked in the 'nads?
I've just thought that
Have just subscribed to you, Graham. This is inspired!
I feel for the kids of today..this has just brought it home...it was a great time to be a kid...where has all the fun gone??where is the innocence??this song is both funny and sad in equal measure...thanks graham
I was 15 in 1970. Had my first baby in 1975, the second in'77. So I remember all these, either through my own youth or what the children watched through the '80's. Love it :-D
F++king Awesome!! Yes this was part of my childhood as well!!!! Awesome stuff!!! Salute you sir!!!!
How life has changed so much, and not for the better either. Its a horrible World we live in today (2021) most of us are living in Fear these days, it's really sad 😥 and what's even sadder is the feeling that things are just going to get worse and worse 😥
Just think,, our Grandparents wouldn't believe how this World has changed so much in such a small amount of time. I remember they often spoke of "the good ol' days", I think our 'good old days' would have been a lot better than theirs and now again with our own children too. It peaked in the 70's and 80's, and is now going downwards, and that's really sad.
If only we could bring back our 'Good Ol' Days' for our children to have a little taste of, at the very least.
I wish we could go back to the 80's
My old headmaster sent this around the school to watch in tutor groups, I saw it when I was 12 when it first came out, remembered a few things that where even around in the 2000s.
At least half??
I remembered everything, I even had the Evil Kineval bike!
I was born 13/03/88 an remember nearly all of them im the same i think i was brought up in the best earas i had thee best and happiest childhood when you could go the shop with £1 an buy a drink a choc bar chrisp a few chew bars ann still get change!!!
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 10p MIX??
thats a bit tooooooooooooooooooooo late i dont think you cant remeber prob re runs on dave by 98 it was all change
Very true i do remember watching repeats of them on the tv when i was a kid but i no all of them!! Then again when i was a kid all i wanted to do was play outside with my friends not like the kids of today!! What happened to the days when a Christmas present a new bike was the absolute biggest thing happened to you in the year!!! Now its ipads or if kids want a bike it would have to have an engine attached!!!!
Thanks whoever you are, you have just brought so many memories back. I remembered nearly all of them. Simply brilliant. Rob ( born 1966).
Born in 1980 and can remember most if not all, great video, well wrote, thumbs up 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
