Oh yeah it's getting close to Sunday or should I say seekers day. Like share, subscribe and like like like!!!
The pit isn’t for blacksmiths it’s where they would do the washing, they’d light the fire fill the pit full of water to heat up then use the plunger to move the washing about, then use the mangle
Oh yeah, you're right!
The big pit would probably have had a large copper in it and the fire would heat it .
I thought same thing, but maybe they did prepare the brands there…there is usually a copper kettle built in for wash.
‘
This place is amazing. The owner definitely looked after it. It's a shame so much history is just sitting there to eventually disappear.
There are still shires in Devon. 5 minutes from me is a farm that still works shires in the field and for making flour. They even deliver the wood delivery to the local village. It's amazing.
Can u video the place
I don't know people get so mad about you going through this stuff. I think it's brilliant the way you guys do it so respectfully and careful. You're interested in showing the raw history. I for one really appreciate you guys doing this.
It's always sad to see that someone's life and history is slowly decaying and fading away. Great video though!
Just amazing 🤩 A real gem of a time capsule. I’ve watched this video before. It’s incredible, much better than a ‘Museum’ because it’s real. Did you feel any spirits around you? The family look very interesting, so many eras, they all looked quite distinguished. I hope this house remains secret, and preserved.
What a walk back in time this beauty was!!! I just loved this home, so sad its left to fall apart. It is a shame that some of those things couldn't be gathered and taken to a museum for safe keeping and so others could also enjoy them as well. Thanks for sharing.
I'll be camping this weekend but I'll watch on Monday 😁
So many photos of Family & Friends...important Papers showing this Man's Life...didn't seem to be a woman's presence for the last few years...Fantastic Explore, as always...just very sad...TY Andy & Matt!
Really sad but amazing to see
The big stone kettle, u thought was for a blacksmith is a Grit kettle, large built-in cooking pot over hearth; often of copper. Previously, the boilers hung or stood freely, but from approx. 1700 an improvement was achieved by walling in the boilers next to the utility chimney.
The boiler in the grue (i.e. the recess) was heated from a fire pit below with fuel from the chimney's open fire on the hearth or floor. Grit kettles were used in brewing, butchering and washing.
Before the time of electric washing machines, gruel kettles were also found in special washrooms or washhouses, both built-in and freestanding;
This place is so interesting and would love to spend a day just going through it bit by bit and photographing everything for the family or the local history group.
You did an exceptional job recording everything (and it was very diverse from the forge to the fireplaces etc) and hearing the excitement in your voices shows how much you care about these locations.
Thank you for taking us into places we could never get to. It is much appreciated.
Could the room on the top floor have been for a lodger or one of the farm workers? That's the feeling I got from it.
I know this was taken quite a while ago, but it is a shame that all those important navy documentation had not been donated to back to the Royal Navy for their displays to show people how the navy has changed over the years. But you've made another great video. E for Wales
One of the best cottages you have been in. So many memories left to rot. Hi-light to my Sunday morning. Stay safe 💙💙
Wow that place is like a museum, I’m intrigued by the older stuff, them photos are amazing, a great look back in time. Great vid guys as always xxxx
What a charming little cottage! The naval cards were brilliant!
Can't wait. Love the abandoned home videos
These days I look forward to Sundays, you are both sooo funny and a joy to watch your explores. Keep doing what you are doing, you always bring joy into our home.
The first little cup that Andy fell in love with was a piece of Noritake. (Japanese china), made for the export market, but now very much sort after by the Japanese.. x
I think it's beautiful what your doing i think most things should be documented it's our history, 10 years or less that house is going to be rubble with it's contents, thanks for sharing guys.
❤️❤️
Wow this place looks amazing, I can't wait. I just love old photographs
Yes the Shire did almost die out but has been saved by a few enthusiasts and I think the Queen also supported the breed. We have a couple of breeders of the great Shire here in Australia. They have the BEST temperament truly a Gentle Giant. Jethro Tull wrote the song Heavy Horses as an ode to the great Heavy Breeds, the Suffolk is another that very nearly became extinct and the Queen supported their recovery also. Wonderful place!!!!!!! Thankyou
I Love that you guys Dig and get Details! Great find! Dwayne Pipe!!!😂🤣
Thank you 💕 It makes me sad to see memories turning to dust.
Cannot wait to see it part of my Sunday morning routine
47:30 holy crap that was creepy. That sounded like old fancy shoes walking. Not a believer but things like that sh*t me up! 😂
This has got to be by far the best explore with being the saddest at the same time with all the amazing stuff left behind, I just can't help but wonder when the last time the owner sat there and looked at the photos with their personal memories 💔😊............ then at the other side if me giggling at your two's antics 🤣🤣🤣 thank for being so respectful though 👌x
It has made me smile while learning about the fellow that lived there…but then sad, because Andy is right…no one will know us or remember us in 100 years. that man was born in 1922…would have been 100 this year…I think he lived there until late 80 or 90s…this video will fall by the side, and he will be forgotten again.
You guys are always so respectful and honor a person's life.
"Stick it in, whizz it around then pull it out."
Ooo err! 😄
I think it's amazing that you guys are doing this, I mean it was left and abandoned, you're not hurting anything, you're not taking anything, you're only looking and sharing bits of history from each place, and to be honest, there is no way in hell i would go in those places because of all the cob webs and critters and critter poop and so much dust!! So I appreciate you guys doing this and sharing your adventures, it's so interesting seeing all of these things! OMG and as i'm typing this Andy lets a stinky out!! hahahahaha you guys are certainly unique!! LOL
I would love it if you discovered something from my ancestry in an abandoned house! And those fingerprints and details of the sailor were brilliant!
amazingly awesome find ...... thank you so mush !!!!!!!!
I heard the footsteps too, someone walking on wooden boards above you
12:14 English Red Ware Turn of the Century Tea Pot... Antique for sure..
look at that orb at 46.50 on the left then you heard footsteps
An amazing place. I really wish some of the artifacts could be put in a museum. Some of the paperwork and photos could help in anyone wanting to trace their family history and ancestry - such a shame it is all goring to rot.
I discovered your Chanel a few weeks ago and enjoying your explorations very much. The places you find are like time capsules, standing still and just waiting to be found. It’s hard to believe places like this still exist, this house has never been modernized, except for the kitchen that had an electric cooker, I loved the way the electric kettle was plugged in but placed onto the electric hop, as if it were an Arger! The Arger in the sitting room was out of this world! Loved the brass beds too, and all the lovely bits of china, the porcelain toast wrack, shaped like scollop shells, beautiful. The sailors suit, complete with identity card! Astonishing. Thank goodness that your preserving these homes and the memories and beautiful things on video, before they are gone and lost forever. Incredible how this house is literally a museum, such a waste, it should be preserved….
20:46 It's a Posser for washing. The 'blacksmiths' looks more like a laundry room. The fire was there to heat a big vessel of water. The clothes may have been possered in the holding to the left.
We looked the family up on ancestry, In 1871 the owner of the house was a blacksmith
I only say Laundry room as it looks very similar to my great grandma's room in her Victorian house in Dundee. All the stuff's there, Mangle, Posser, boiler.
Try googling 'Victorian laundry room'
The blacksmiths would be normally in a room separate from the house where a horse had free access , shoeing horses was the commonest job for a blacksmith.
I’m not saying ur wrong 😎👍
That was an amazing home I hope you do more like that because the history was amazing
This lovely video to end my Friday with ☺️ finished my week off nicely
This was so cool....loved it thank you....💜💜💜
That pit would have been the big 'copper' in the scullery, they lit the fire beneath the copper to heat the water for the washing. Amazing place, you don't see places today with the original coppers and fireplaces. such a shame it's all going to waste and ruin.
Fantastic photos xxx
I'm looking forward to this. It's a great way to start my day.
Love the id you found in the grotty mattress the finger nails they pulled out lol
Beautiful countryside! 🌹🌹

Great video so interesting and informative great work guys
What a gem! So thankful for your hard work in bringing this into my kitchen.
We still have shire horses working in Tadcaster
The ship on the wall in the photo. 🙂 en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Ceramic
I was really enjoying watching this explore when you mentioned the photograph of the ship on the hall wall..I was shocked when you said it was RMS Ceramic.... my great uncle died on that ship during WW2 there was only one survivor after being torpedoed by a german U boat...message from the grave ????
Cnt wait for this I do like a good old abandoned home from back in the day 😎👍
What a lovely farm house. nice things in it. things from the 20s and 30s, should be saved. enjoyed this somuch. God Bless, both of you.

To work at sea you need a seaman’s discharge book. It contains all your service history and training records . Lifeboat certificate etc. I had one when I worked for P&O .
Very interesting house great old photos.
Just come across you guys by accident.
I have never laughed so much, keep up the good work.
Just subscribed, it was your "Dwain Pipe that got me lol.
😂😂😂😂❤️❤️
That washer is the best..I had one when my boys were little I wish I had one now
Cool 🙂
i've several of your videos and it's so sad and strange that all their stuff is left there just as it was like they vanished one day and no one knew and no family members existed to care to pick up the photos
it's just all there like frozen in time
1st class video to watch thank you take care kind regards from me kenneth
Looking forward to it x
An amazing place, thank you so much for showing us guys!!!
What an amazing find all the history so very interesting, thanks for sharing I really enjoyed watching this☺️
And remember there will be very few people who will have actual photos and unless you find their old phones a lot will be lost and forgotten so sad.
Thank you for sharing these forgotten faces in forgotten places it would be a real shame if you didn’t share these little bits of peoples lives keep up the good work lads thank you
Shire horses are critically endangered there is a major breeding programme to help bring them back.some farms still use heavy horses and forestry workers as they don't destroy the environment like machines.
This is your best find ever!
Amazing place .. great explore step back in time
Loved this video so many memories and untouched stuff amazing 👌
Shame it’s been all left to rot away, needs to be all saved and find the relatives of these people 👍
Agree
So glad I found this channel, I love this! Thank you😃
So much history, hate to see it disappear
Now watching, you're so excited 😂 lots of shire horses round our area (suffolk) lovely photos, imagine the stories that could come from there! 👌🏻
It makes me sad … What would make a man leave all his belongings like that? And why didn’t any of his family come and get his items ?
Epic explore!!! loved it. Love Andy's bag inventory. Surprised there's no snacks in there tho...always carry snacks and a bottle of water....and a First Aide Kit
This was an absolutely amazing place! What a find in that coat, and everything really.
This is definitely one of my favourites now, thank you guys ❤

My sister and I had those jumbo Disney Mugs!! Ooh it took me back
At 35:29 it looks like the name on that identity card with the date stamp Nov 1940 something is the same name as on the membership card from 1956 Captain R. P. Williams at 30:11.
