    Another FSR advantage would be that it won't be locked into the Moza ecosystem when they release the dongle. Can use it on any wheelbase that you can mount it to. GS needs Moza wheelbase.

      I got myself an R9 with the CS wheel and desk mount, it cost me 870€. I'm planning to get the GS wheel or another more affordable formula/gt style wheel if they release one because my original plan was to get a Fanatec CSL DD coupled with a Mclaren V2 wheel, but it was always a hassle having to choose between 5NM or 8NM and they've been out of stock for half a year anyways and there's not even an option to set a reservation, so after looking at some other options I found that Moza was the way to go.
      It took some getting used to, especially the size of the wheel compared to the g29 and its position when mounted on the desk. The g29 wheel has a small diameter of 27cm, and the CS wheel is a whopping 33cm which is what you would find in a real road car. When putting them up against each other with the tops at the same level, I can fit basically the whole width of my hand under the g29 rim to make up the difference in diameter. Another thing is the angle and the distance from the desk to the wheel, the fact that it has a quick release means that it sits a lot closer to me than it would with the g29, and while the g29 is angled up slightly (I'd say maybe 20 degrees), while the CS sits almost completely perpendicular to the ground, depending on how you set it up, since the desk mount does allow for some leeway (iirc it has 4 different screw holes to determine the angle).
      The last thing is that you really have to screw it down hard, otherwise it will slowly move out of place and eventually fall off the table if you're not careful. I found out the hard way after a lap of the Nordschleife when I removed my VR headset and found the wheelbase hanging on for dear life. I don't want to find out what its like to have a 7kg sim rig fall onto your legs while driving and it being a total surprise because I wouldn't be able to see it in VR.

      @scottwoodtraining Год назад

      @@jaumegenaro7673 thanks for the comments! I recently upgraded to a aluminum cockpit so mounting and angling will not be an issue but that is a very good point about the wheel diameter - would not have thought! I like the idea of an f1 style wheel!

    The new revisions of the GS wheel don't have the button on the quick release, at least mine does not.
    I chose the GS just before the FSR was announced, I was dissapointed at first but With the Display not being customizable with simhub I am not that dissapointed anymore.
    As for the GS grips, I wrapped mine in tennis racket grip tape and it is so much batter now.

    • @vt6020
      @vt6020 Год назад

      I can confirm this, also. I've had my GS for about a three weeks, and it doesn't have a button on the quick release. I also wrapped my wheel with grip tape. It worked very well on my Fanatec Formula V2 wheel when the Alcantara started to wear out. I thought that the FSR has plastic buttons, based off a RUclips review video I watched a while ago. I wonder if they changed the buttons to metal, like on the GS, since they started shipping the wheels to customers.

    Great review. I, myself have just ordered the GS GT wheel and couldnt see the real benefit of the display for the very reason you gave about the the hub being on screen. It looks great but couldnt justify the extra cost. The GS GT comes in two options for the fabric V2 and V2P, i assuming this is the alcantara and leather.
    Plus i'll be doing more GT racing rather than Formula

    Moza has for sure the best entry level DD the best entry level set of pedals (SR-P) but the cost of those wheels is outrageous. For sure the best combination cost wise still being Fanatec dd + Mclaren gt3 and Moza SR-P. Once/IF Moza releases something on the same price level of the GT3 or a little bit more expensive than yes it is a go, otherwise you are paying more for a good looking wheel period.

      @@ciaranconnor4466 On my CSL DD I use a Fanatec Formula V2.5 ,which is 280mm I believe, mainly for ACC. I also have a 300mm wheel but I don't like it for driving GT3's because the difference in detail between those 2 wheels is pretty big. The only car I drive in ACC using the 300mm wheel is the BMW M2 CS and that feels fine. But I'm sure some people feel different regarding 'the best' diamater for GT3's. I actually have recently ordered a moza setup and went with the formula wheel and the normal cs wheel.
    I don't even really drive formula style cars and I'm intending to use the formula wheel for gt. From what I've searched it seemed the smaller 280mm is still good for gt racing and when I want to drive something like an lm car with a display on the screen I have just the right wheel. Sure I could just use hud elements to replace the screen data you would get in some irl cars but for me sim racing is all about chasing immersion. I don't care if I'm the slowest sim racer that ever existed.
    Really it's a choice that would let me do gt, lm cars and formula if I want to. Plus the basic wheel for everything else.
