Savitar is not the future time remnant of Barry Allen. It is the exact same Barry Allen from this time line. Remember, Savitar 'lived it and experienced it'. He went through everything this Barry went through. My guess is something bad happens to Barry and his team in the future that wouldn't have occurred without the Flash Point. Flash Point was created because Barry wasn't content with everything he had - Iris, Joe and his other friends - and he wanted to have more - his mother and father. I think when Savitar said Barry was selfish, bad and didn't deserve none of it(friends), he meant that Barry didn't know how important what he already had was and was too selfish to want to have even more. Hence, out of that 'selfishness,' Barry went back into time and caused disruption in time line which might have cause some kind of future tragedy that kills Barry's friends and causes the scar on his own face, which made future Barry hate his old self. And killing Iris is some sort of punishment for not being content and cherishing what he already has. This is my theory.
Yeah this is pretty good but it’s wrong. Savitar is a Future Time Remnant from a Barry Allen in the future. In the future of 2024 when Iris is Dead, future Barry tells our Barry that he fought savitar in 2020 and created time remnants to fight him. After the battle, one of these time remnants becomes unstable and unhappy and he then becomes the next savitar, fulfilling the continuous cycle of Savitars creation. This is why Savitar said he lived it, because he actually did. He already lived what our characters were currently going through until 2020, when the main future Barry Allen created remnants to fight Savitar.

Simply because he's not only from the future, but Barry has the ability to time travel meaning the very first time Savitar just appears having travelled from the future as a remnant, went to the past, became Savitar, then went forwards again to kill Iris and start the cycle where Barry creates remnants to defeat Savitar in which he leaves one alive that will go on to become Savitar. I think it's the same as with Harry Potter 3 where Harry is CONVINCED it's his dad who saved him, he goes back in time and waits for his dad to swoop in but then he jumps in instead because it was him all along travelling back from the future to start this endless time loop where infinite future Harry's will carry out the EXACT same actions.
But padgey, Savitar said in ep 20 that he lived trough the flash life. If he is from another timeline how could everything be exactly the same? The huge disruption of the timeline caused by reversed flash when killing nora should have made the futre change totally.
Nothing would make sense other then savitar being the current Barry's future self because if it was barry from a different time line then he wouldn't of lived our Barry's life, so how could he know what happens?
This is my personal theory on this. So not true to my knowledge. But it could be that but I could also believe that it was the time remnant only cause of the fact that when he sacrificed himself to save them, more likely than not, he was put into the speed force in the same way that Barry did when they attempted to get his powers back. Now just cause he is in the speed force doesn't mean that he doesn't know/see whats going on. Savitar did say that when present Barry made flashpoint he saw that and used it as a way to get Kid Flash in the picture. And keep in mind Savitar was in the speed force the entire time while it was going on. By keeping that theory in mind it could a numerous of possibilities on what version of Barry it is. But the only thing that is confusing me about it is why would the time remnant want to attack Barry over that. Considering he did agree to sacrifice himself.
Pryster actually, Future Barry from 2024 says "You will create time remnants, and he will kill them all, MOSTLY****" He said it really quick, so it was easy to miss. One of the time remnants was probably like "fuck it. I might as well just stay alive." And somehow he could become Savitar. Personally, I think it's the Barry from flashpoint. He would have the motivation to hate Barry for taking away his life, and he would, theoretically, get all of current Barry's memories because, if you remember, all of our Barry's memories were getting mixed up with Flashpoint memories. my savitar theory in season 3 episode 19 emo barry said that he will create time remnants and savitar will kill them all mostly, this implies that some might have survived and i think that one of the time remnants got badly injured in the face and witnessed all the other all the time remnants die and then he went back in time to get the philosopher stone to try and get the same power a savitar and in doing so he became savitar and is consumed by power, then he realized that he needs iris to die to become savitar
He's first timeline 2024 Barry who was thrown into the speed force after Flashpoint was made. While in the speed force, the philosopher's stone was thrown into the speed force and Barry turned into Savitar. As the timeline was rearranged, his memories were aligned with the S3 timeline which explains why he knows everything. I'm not sure about the face, maybe it's a battle scar from one of his enemies or an effect from being launched into the speed force.

Savitar is the flash from 2024. I was watching some flash reruns this weekend and noticed that the flash that stopped himself from saving his mom is the flash from 2024, because he is wearing the suit with the gold belt.I think after 2017 Barry left 2024 something drastic happens that made the 2024 flash to go back in time { red skies, flash missing }. The 2024 flash succeeded in season 1 in stopping himself from saving his mom but in season 3 Barry goes back again and this time succeeds. 2024 Barry gets stuck in the speedforce but from season 1, so he has been in the speedforce three years now, which is like eons for a speedster. That is why savitar has all Barry's memories because he has lived it all before, like Barry said in episode 20......past , present and future, and why savitar looks the same age as our Barry is because it's Barry 7 yrs from now.
I have a theory as to who which Barry savitar might be: So at the end of this season Barry Allen will kill himself to save iris. This means that Barry from 2024 will disappear. This is what the article in the time room will mean when he disappears in a crisis. After that 2024 Barry will enter the speed force becoming savitar. If you are asking about Tracy and her invention, seeing as Barry kinda messed with the timeline again, she will probably die or something.
Savitar knows that he is Barry. Savitar knows what he's seen Savitar do when he was Barry in the past. Present Barry even points out that Savitar has all of present Barry's memories, and it is that fact that made Savitar appear to reveal himself: future Barry remembered that night when Savitar revealed his identity to him. Future Barry wants to continue existing, and because is Savitar, he knows that he must create himself in the past. Either future Barry kills Iris or future Barry ceases to exist. This is why he could do the unthinkable in killing Iris, not only has he already seen himself do it and knows it's something he is capable of doing, but he either must kill her or stop existing.
It can't be the pre flashpoint flash or an earlier time remnant flash because evil Barry knows and remembers everything that good barry does. So it has to be a future version and not a past version. since earlier barry's wouldn't know the future since they to hadn't lived it yet. My bet would be it is a future time remnant (most likely one that he creates in trying to save iris) Since this season is very muched focused on love and having a time remnant that would also be in love with Iris, could end up as an If I can't have her, no one will situation!
That fifth and final theory you mention is a VERY good shout. I think many folks might forget about the original timeline, like you mentioned. This is the only theory that actually works and one i'd be pleased with. As of right now, the reveal of it being Barry, was disappointing and had far too many questions to answer. Jay Garrick must be lying, as he said Savitar was the "first" speedster, but if it's Barry, how can he be the first?
No, Savitar is a time remnant that future Barry creates/created while fighting Savitar (as mentioned that 2024 flash created but not all remnants died), so in order for Savitar to exist/repeat the cycle, he needs to kill iris or present day Barry will not create the remnant that becomes Savitar. Also, most other options do not work as Savitar said he created himself, referring to making a remnant, which rules out all the options of Barry traveling through time simultaneously or being of a previous timeline, such as pre-flashpoint, and also because Savitar would then not be able to have "remembered" everything if he was of a different timeline.
Also, the reason as to why Savitar is evil (besides needing to stay alive), is he sought out the philosophers stone to revive Iris, which corrupted his mind and gave him the god complex, ultimately creating the final version of the Savitar we now see. (The stone may be provided extra speed as well, reasoning as to why he is so much faster), and the scar on his face was before he had the Savitar suit, traveled too fast, and burnt his face with the excess of static electricity.
I thought when he said " only one of us could live" and, to Iris, "I'm sorry you have to die, but it's you, or me" he was implying he was this Barry, from the future, who has to go back in time and kill Iris to cement his future, as if Iris doesn't die Barry doesn't lose all his hope and he doesn't get sent along the path to becoming Savitar, which means Savitar Barry would just cease to exist, all Eobard Thawne style
so my theory is that he was trapped in the past as well and was watching over Barry from that time line to see if thawn would try anything. but when Barry went back in time for the fist time you could see as pagey said stopping him from saving his mom at that time. but after zoom killed his dad he went back and created flash point. at that moment he screwed up everything also everyone's life included that flash from the future
One flaw with the last theory is that long haired future Barry says that Dr. ( I forgot her name) made the trap. So our Barry wouldn't have trapped him by creating flashpoint.

Regardless of which timeline Savitar came from, Savitar is the future Barry who lived through the life of the present Barry but was also be destroyed by this present Barry, so he became Savitar and traveled back to the past to destroy the present Barry by killing Iris who were also once the wife of Savitar. It's pretty difficult to make sense of out of this. If Savitar is a future Barry, why doesn't he try to teach the present Barry not to destroy him and coach him like Jay Garrick instead of destroying his younger self?

I'm thinking that Savitar is the original Barry that went to save his mum from Reverse Flash, and then since our Barry let Nora die, that Barry got really pissed and became Savitar. I think 2056 Barry sent that message in the context that in 2016/2017 the Savitar Barry could be posing as our Barry.
My theory is that season 4 Barry went back in time to the night instead of 2024 Barry. 2024 Barry just went into the the speed force until 2056 and the philosophers stone got thrown into the speedforce which gave him the white lightning. After Barry got out of the speed force, he was crazy and ran so fast he got the scar which made him get the suit.

I think the scars are tied into his suits protection. Tracy Brand said that he needs the suit to negate the static charge. Maybe he got the suit because he injured himself running to fast, that injury giving him the scars.

I think your last theory couldn't possibly be true for one simple reason: Savitar can't kill Barry. Think about it, every time Savitar fights Barry he does so taking special care to inflict no permanent injury. This is because savitar's existence is in someway contingent on Barry surviving. Under your last theory, Savitar would not be from the same timeline as our Barry, therefore, Savitar's life would not be bound to Barry's and he would be able to kill him easily. While you can argue that Savitar chooses not to kill Barry so that he can make him suffer, that rebuttal wouldn't explain the meticulous instructions Savitar left to Caitlin instructing her not to kill Barry under any circumstance whatsoever.
None of the theories make proper sense, you know why? Because as Killer Frost says 'It's all history to him', and even in 3X20 where we see KF figuring out what Barry would speak out, how could Barry from a 'different' timeline or earth possibly live all of these? IN FACT, in my opinion, this is a version of Barry who becomes Savitar because of something that is gonna happen in this very season. Because clearly, Savitar is a version of Barry from THIS PRESENT TIMELINE or just a future version of this timelines. Makes sense?

that sounds a little insane tbh, my idea is its just our future barry, its just our barry in the future somewhere down the road goes insane because of iris death, and so to maintain his existence he must go back and kill iris, its whats know as a causal loop or bootstrap paradox, it has no origin if you get me, however, assuming 2024 barry wasnt lying, then time now has changed drastically since barry figured it out, hopefully that realization is enough for them to devise a plan to stop savitar from killing iris therefore prevent barry from ever becoming savitar in the first place, this pretty much leaves savitar in the same scenario as thawne in season 1 when eddie killed himself, allowing the writers to kill savitar while also shelving him so they can bring him back in a future season if they wish.

The motivation of the time remnant would be that : A) Our Barry is living the future that the remnant would have had B) Being trapped in the speedforce made him lose his mind several times over.

If anyone is familiar with the game Infamous, I would love to see some arch similar to the Kessler idea, for anyone who is confused I'm talking about the fact that Savitar is a Barry from the future where he tries to defeat the big bad from lets say season 4 or 5 and isn't fast enough, so he becomes Savitar and goes back in time and disrupts Barry so much that he HAS to become stronger to defeat him, bringing our Berry to a point where he is strong enough to defeat the big bad
Another flaw with the S2 time remnant, he couldn't know the dialogue and stuff that Savitar says he already lived. I think it's just a future Barry from this timeline because Wally says in the promo that Savitar is Barry from the future. And that comes after Barry asks him how he became Savitar so he probably tells him.

What about a time remnant that was made after the events we are watching now? He would remember everything perfectly up to the time he was made. 2024 Barry said that 2017 Barry would make a bunch of time remnants, but Savitar will kill them all MOSTLY. That explains why Savitar didn't kill Tracy Brand before, because he didn't know about her until 2024 Barry gave 2017 Barry the information. This makes sense because 2024 Barry met Tracy and worked with her after he made the time remnant. The only flaw i can think of in this is that I don't know why 2017 Barry would make time remnants now, knowing what he does, but it looks like they are wiping his memory next week, so maybe that has something to do with it. I definitely the way they are going because when Barry was putting it all together at the end of 3x20, one of the things that ran through his head was the statement 2024 Barry made about the time remnants. As for why would any future version of our Barry would kill Iris, I think that he has been in the speed force so long, he has lost his humanity. He no longer feels love or empathy or grief . That is why he tells Killer Frost that if she kills someone she will become a god and rise above the pain of mortal men. At this point he doesn't want to lose that. Whether or not you like this reveal, it does make it interesting and I think that the next three episodes could make or break this season.
I think this evil Savitar version of Barry is an alternate universe futures' version of Barry, most likely anyway. Or, it is the time remnant of Barry. It could be the final theory you talked about.
two Flaws....2024 Barry had already sealed Savitar and in the latest trailer, when iris is talking to Future Barry/Savitar, she touches his face while talking to him and seems smitten (maybe not the word to use) but he seems like he misses her.
your theory has one problem..If I remember correctly wellseobard was from the OG timeline and so was the future newspaper article..So that means the OG barry was married to Iris as well..So he still is with Iris. The show has quite established the fact that Iris is a key element in Barry Allen's life no matter what version, earth or timeline..So even if the OG Barry comes back to kill Iris he would basically be killing his WIFE..Right?
Pagey dude the comic book version of future flash in new 52 has alot of similarities because there suits design are kinda the same there lightning color is the same and there both future Barry so it would make sense if Savitar was from the 50th century just like the new 52 comic book future Flash.
So riddle me this: from Savitar's point of view, he just escaped from the speed force, which he's going to be trapped in, in a few years. Where does his personal timeline end? Is he in a time loop of being trapped in the future, then escaping in the past, just to get trapped again?
When Barry is figuring out the identity in the latest episode, he remembers his future self saying that he'd made multiple remnants of himself to fight Savitar. I thought the pretty clear implication was that one of them survived and became Savitar!

Could it be like "The One" with Jet Li? A Barry from a future yet different timeline travels through breaches, killing his other selves, absorbing their Speedforce via the suit? If Cisco can Vibe a Flashpoint where Barry stays, then it stands to reason that every change in the timeline has an alternative where the event didn't occur. Maybe it's Barry from the original timeline, who outran the tsunami but failed to save Iris, Joe and the rest of Team Flash and Central City. Maybe he blamed himself and went on a Hal Jordan rampage trying to fix things and blaming himself to a degree where he actively hunted his other selves a la Future Flash.
The flaw with the time remenant cant be savitar, because the time remenant died *before* the events of season 3, savitar obviously remembers what happened in season 3. This disregards most, if not all theories for which Barry Savitar is.
The main problem with most of these options is the detailed memories future Barry has. So unless you think he has psychic link or is a time traveling Peeping Tom, they don't make sense. So it must be future version of the current Flash. Now I have a hard time with Iris, about the only thing is she is already dead in his time line. So like the Reverse Flash in season one in his mind she is already long dead.
What I don't get, especially now, is how come Savitar Barry can remember everything about Barry's life even though he's changed the future so many times this season, especially now that he's figured out who Savitar really is. Now that he knows who he is, doesn't that create a completely different future from the one we experienced in 2024? If so, doesn't that create a whole new sequence of memories that Savitar wouldn't know? So why is there a need to wipe out his memories in the next episode?
Savitar's knowledge is a problem for all of these possibilities. He had to be present in both Flashpoint and the conversation with Killer Frost to have known everything that he did. That rules out alternate Earth Barry, past time remnants, pre-Flashpoint Barry, and maybe even 2024 Barry who quite likely changed his own timeline when he handed over that data module.
I believe that he's from the night when he stopped season 1 Barry from saving his mom. Season 1 Flash goes back in time to save his mom -> Future Flash stops him then grabs and runs young Barry out of there -> After saving his younger self he runs back into the speed force (returning back to the future) -> Season 3 Flash comes and saves his mom from Reverse Flash, season 1 Flash disappears, so you can safely assume that Future Flash also disappears while he was in the speed force running back to his time, but with the speed force protecting him from disappearing it trapped him in the speed force instead. My theory right there.
It doesn't matter if he agreed before he helped Barry, after he got trapped in the speed force, he could still change his mind and then resent sacrificing himself after the fact.
My theory is that Savitar was a version of our Barry who came in contact with the Philosopher Stone, and the stone restored the memories he had from a timeline that's been erased or something like that. A similar thing happened with Edward Clarris. He seemed like a guy with a normal life, but then got his memories from Flashpoint back and became the rival again.
You made some good points that made sense as to why options 2 and 3 don't fit. Even though options 1, 4 and 5 are probably the best options there is only one flaw with them and it is want Barry said to Savitar. He said you were there you remember because you lived it when you were me. There is no way options 1, 4 and 5 would be able to be there and live through those things.
many of these theories have a major flaw. If it was a remnant of Barry from season 2 or a Barry from another Earth then he wouldn't have the memories of our current Barry. This is either a big plot hole or it really is future Barry but like a remnant from the fight with Savitar. Basically the future Barry has not yet been created.

am i the only 1 that wonders why savitar was way faster in the beginning of the season? he was going so fast it looked like he was jumping thru portals when he was smacking berry even jay around. Then he gets out of the speed force and berry is as fast as him now. i wonder if the og berry made the suit himself or if its from the speedforce also.
I hope in the last scene of the season finale, reverse flash comes back like he said he would in the premiere and they go back and time and basically the scene from the season one finale happens when Barry tells Barry not to cause flashpoint
anyone else notice how the flash is becoming more like the arrow (in terms of villians) think about it: in season 1 of both shows the bad guy was a mysterious person who was the "reverse" or mirror version of Oliver and Barry. season two the villain was bigger and better then our hero, and was a sort of a mentor to the main character at the begining of the season ("jay gerrick"/hunter zolomon and slade.) . In season three of both shows our main character became a bad guy at one point. Just think about it. this also has me worried for season 4 of the flash
I think it is definitely the version of Barry that we saw running around the thing that Zoom built in season 2. The 5th theory is smart in all but Barry said to Savitar at the end of episode 20 that he would have had to live that life. I like the theory of 2056 Barry as well, honestly I think I will be watching Legends of tomorrow again, especially the crossover

Y'all remember this. When Savitar first born, Iris was alive. Even if she was dead, it's not because of Savitar. Because before Savitar was first born in the future, at that time, there was no Savitar in the past to kill Iris. Pagey, think about this. So why would Savitar come back and kill Iris and blame the present Barry?
i would say there is a 6th option. Savitar is Flashpoint Barry. Barry that lived in flashpoint with mom and dad was a time remnant, our Barry we've followed from the start *reason why he had his speed and has old memories*. But what happened to the kid Barry, the Flashpoint Barry? I believe that while our Barry was living a happy live with mom and dad and took the place of Flashpoint Barry the Original Flashpoint Barry accidentally found the stone that gave Kid Flash his powers. Seeing how the stone can restore powers from Flashpoint it could also possibly restore Barry's speed, even enhance it. But right when Flashpoint Barry gets his powers our Barry "Fixes" the timeline, and suddenly Flashpoint Barry becomes the time remnant. Flashpoint Barry goes insane, starts getting glimpses of our Barry's timeline, just not the past but the future as well. He blames our Barry for the death of his parents and our Barry took everything he ever loved. This would explain 2 things, 1 why he looks the same age as our Barry, and 2 he never loved Iris as much as our Barry. This theory works as theory 1 you give, but in my opinion this makes more sense for the story they've made. I hope someone reads this or else i just wrote an English essay for no reason at all. xD
My theory after seeing the Promo for episode 21 is that team flash's attempts to mess with Barry's memories to stop Savitar actually messes with Barry's mind and starts him down the path. Remember when talking to Savitar through Julian, he looks at the whole team saying "YOU DID THIS TO ME, ALL OF YOU."

Barry says that Savitar has lived all of this, thus the reason he knows everything they are going to do. It is all just a memory to him. For example, the warehouse scene with killer frost and how she knows exactly what Barry is going to say. Because of this, I disagree with your final option for Savitar. The Barry he replaced, as you said in your video, would not have been attached to Iris. I don't believe your last theory/option of a alternate version of Barry is correct.
If it is a completely different version of Barry how has Savitar already lived through everything current Barry has? I mean you theory makes sense if Savitar didn't have all of current Barry's memories, but he does and that is the entire premise of next weeks episode.
Pagey the problem with your theories is that savitar has lived Barry's life as he knows what he will say where people are and when they do stuff therefore it cannot be the time remnant that help Barry defeat zoom as he has not lived to this current period and it can't be the original Barry who gets his speed 7 years later as he would not have done what current Barry does - good theories tho !

This is most likely just our barry in the future, heres my theory so far Barry's face is burned most likely because of his speed. Like Tracy said, his speed is so fast, that he needs the suit to displace the energy, he literally runs so fast now that it burns his skin if he runs without the Savitar metal. Also, the reason he wants to kill Iris is obvious. its a Causal Loop, Savitar killing Iris set him on the path to eventually becoming Savitar, so as Savitar he had to go back and kill Iris so he'd become Savitar. Its a Bootstrap Paradox, you don't exactly know what first started the loop, but thats it, he needs to kill Iris to make sure he comes into existence. Thats why Barry says, "Iris, I'm sorry you have to die... But Its You or Me"

Problem with Pre-Flashpoint Barry is that he remembers everything this version of Barry does which would have been different as there would be no Killer Frost and more.
Savitar is not the future time remnant of Barry Allen. It is the exact same Barry Allen from this time line. Remember, Savitar 'lived it and experienced it'. He went through everything this Barry went through. My guess is something bad happens to Barry and his team in the future that wouldn't have occurred without the Flash Point. Flash Point was created because Barry wasn't content with everything he had - Iris, Joe and his other friends - and he wanted to have more - his mother and father. I think when Savitar said Barry was selfish, bad and didn't deserve none of it(friends), he meant that Barry didn't know how important what he already had was and was too selfish to want to have even more. Hence, out of that 'selfishness,' Barry went back into time and caused disruption in time line which might have cause some kind of future tragedy that kills Barry's friends and causes the scar on his own face, which made future Barry hate his old self. And killing Iris is some sort of punishment for not being content and cherishing what he already has. This is my theory.
Yeah this is pretty good but it’s wrong. Savitar is a Future Time Remnant from a Barry Allen in the future. In the future of 2024 when Iris is Dead, future Barry tells our Barry that he fought savitar in 2020 and created time remnants to fight him. After the battle, one of these time remnants becomes unstable and unhappy and he then becomes the next savitar, fulfilling the continuous cycle of Savitars creation. This is why Savitar said he lived it, because he actually did. He already lived what our characters were currently going through until 2020, when the main future Barry Allen created remnants to fight Savitar.

Simply because he's not only from the future, but Barry has the ability to time travel meaning the very first time Savitar just appears having travelled from the future as a remnant, went to the past, became Savitar, then went forwards again to kill Iris and start the cycle where Barry creates remnants to defeat Savitar in which he leaves one alive that will go on to become Savitar. This is my personal theory on this. So not true to my knowledge. But it could be that but I could also believe that it was the time remnant only cause of the fact that when he sacrificed himself to save them, more likely than not, he was put into the speed force in the same way that Barry did when they attempted to get his powers back. Now just cause he is in the speed force doesn't mean that he doesn't know/see whats going on. Savitar did say that when present Barry made flashpoint he saw that and used it as a way to get Kid Flash in the picture. And keep in mind Savitar was in the speed force the entire time while it was going on. By keeping that theory in mind it could a numerous of possibilities on what version of Barry it is. But the only thing that is confusing me about it is why would the time remnant want to attack Barry over that. Considering he did agree to sacrifice himself.

He's first timeline 2024 Barry who was thrown into the speed force after Flashpoint was made. While in the speed force, the philosopher's stone was thrown into the speed force and Barry turned into Savitar. As the timeline was rearranged, his memories were aligned with the S3 timeline which explains why he knows everything. I'm not sure about the face, maybe it's a battle scar from one of his enemies or an effect from being launched into the speed force.

I was watching some flash reruns this weekend and noticed that the flash that stopped himself from saving his mom is the flash from 2024, because he is wearing the suit with the gold belt.I think after 2017 Barry left 2024 something drastic happens that made the 2024 flash to go back in time { red skies, flash missing }. The 2024 flash succeeded in season 1 in stopping himself from saving his mom but in season 3 Barry goes back again and this time succeeds. 2024 Barry gets stuck in the speedforce but from season 1, so he has been in the speedforce three years now, which is like eons for a speedster. That is why savitar has all Barry's memories because he has lived it all before, like Barry said in episode 20......past , present and future, and why savitar looks the same age as our Barry is because it's Barry 7 yrs from now.

I have a theory as to who which Barry savitar might be:
So at the end of this season Barry Allen will kill himself to save iris. This means that Barry from 2024 will disappear. This is what the article in the time room will mean when he disappears in a crisis. After that 2024 Barry will enter the speed force becoming savitar. If you are asking about Tracy and her invention, seeing as Barry kinda messed with the timeline again, she will probably die or something.
Savitar knows that he is Barry. Savitar knows what he's seen Savitar do when he was Barry in the past. Present Barry even points out that Savitar has all of present Barry's memories, and it is that fact that made Savitar appear to reveal himself: future Barry remembered that night when Savitar revealed his identity to him. Future Barry wants to continue existing, and because is Savitar, he knows that he must create himself in the past. Either future Barry kills Iris or future Barry ceases to exist. This is why he could do the unthinkable in killing Iris, not only has he already seen himself do it and knows it's something he is capable of doing, but he either must kill her or stop existing.
It can't be the pre flashpoint flash or an earlier time remnant flash because evil Barry knows and remembers everything that good barry does. So it has to be a future version and not a past version. since earlier barry's wouldn't know the future since they to hadn't lived it yet. My bet would be it is a future time remnant (most likely one that he creates in trying to save iris) Since this season is very muched focused on love and having a time remnant that would also be in love with Iris, could end up as an If I can't have her, no one will situation!

That fifth and final theory you mention is a VERY good shout. I think many folks might forget about the original timeline, like you mentioned. This is the only theory that actually works and one i'd be pleased with. As of right now, the reveal of it being Barry, was disappointing and had far too many questions to answer. Jay Garrick must be lying, as he said Savitar was the "first" speedster, but if it's Barry, how can he be the first?
No, Savitar is a time remnant that future Barry creates/created while fighting Savitar (as mentioned that 2024 flash created but not all remnants died), so in order for Savitar to exist/repeat the cycle, he needs to kill iris or present day Barry will not create the remnant that becomes Savitar. Also, most other options do not work as Savitar said he created himself, referring to making a remnant, which rules out all the options of Barry traveling through time simultaneously or being of a previous timeline, such as pre-flashpoint, and also because Savitar would then not be able to have "remembered" everything if he was of a different timeline.
Also, the reason as to why Savitar is evil (besides needing to stay alive), is he sought out the philosophers stone to revive Iris, which corrupted his mind and gave him the god complex, ultimately creating the final version of the Savitar we now see. (The stone may be provided extra speed as well, reasoning as to why he is so much faster), and the scar on his face was before he had the Savitar suit, traveled too fast, and burnt his face with the excess of static electricity.
I thought when he said " only one of us could live" and, to Iris, "I'm sorry you have to die, but it's you, or me" he was implying he was this Barry, from the future, who has to go back in time and kill Iris to cement his future, as if Iris doesn't die Barry doesn't lose all his hope and he doesn't get sent along the path to becoming Savitar, which means Savitar Barry would just cease to exist, all Eobard Thawne style
so my theory is that he was trapped in the past as well and was watching over Barry from that time line to see if thawn would try anything. but when Barry went back in time for the fist time you could see as pagey said stopping him from saving his mom at that time. but after zoom killed his dad he went back and created flash point. at that moment he screwed up everything also everyone's life included that flash from the future
One flaw with the last theory is that long haired future Barry says that Dr. ( I forgot her name) made the trap. So our Barry wouldn't have trapped him by creating flashpoint.

Savitar knows every word Barry has said and every action he had taken. He is present Barry from the future, but he could be a time remnant as they would share the same memories.
I'm thinking that Savitar is the original Barry that went to save his mum from Reverse Flash, and then since our Barry let Nora die, that Barry got really pissed and became Savitar. I think 2056 Barry sent that message in the context that in 2016/2017 the Savitar Barry could be posing as our Barry.
My theory is that season 4 Barry went back in time to the night instead of 2024 Barry.

I think your last theory couldn't possibly be true for one simple reason: Savitar can't kill Barry. Think about it, every time Savitar fights Barry he does so taking special care to inflict no permanent injury. This is because savitar's existence is in someway contingent on Barry surviving. Under your last theory, Savitar would not be from the same timeline as our Barry, therefore, Savitar's life would not be bound to Barry's and he would be able to kill him easily. While you can argue that Savitar chooses not to kill Barry so that he can make him suffer, that rebuttal wouldn't explain the meticulous instructions Savitar left to Caitlin instructing her not to kill Barry under any circumstance whatsoever.
None of the theories make proper sense, you know why? Because as Killer Frost says 'It's all history to him', and even in 3X20 where we see KF figuring out what Barry would speak out, how could Barry from a 'different' timeline or earth possibly live all of these? IN FACT, in my opinion, this is a version of Barry who becomes Savitar because of something that is gonna happen in this very season. Because clearly, Savitar is a version of Barry from THIS PRESENT TIMELINE or just a future version of this timelines.

that sounds a little insane tbh, my idea is its just our future barry, its just our barry in the future somewhere down the road goes insane because of iris death, and so to maintain his existence he must go back and kill iris, its whats know as a causal loop or bootstrap paradox, it has no origin if you get me, however, assuming 2024 barry wasnt lying, then time now has changed drastically since barry figured it out, hopefully that realization is enough for them to devise a plan to stop savitar from killing iris therefore prevent barry from ever becoming savitar in the first place, this pretty much leaves savitar in the same scenario as thawne in season 1 when eddie killed himself, allowing the writers to kill savitar while also shelving him so they can bring him back in a future season if they wish.

in case any of you are wondering why barry ( savitar ) looks soo young it's because when he went back in time the timeline had an effect and made him look young ( we could see what this barry really looks like) same thing happened to him in the comics
If anyone is familiar with the game Infamous, I would love to see some arch similar to the Kessler idea, for anyone who is confused I'm talking about the fact that Savitar is a Barry from the future where he tries to defeat the big bad from lets say season 4 or 5 and isn't fast enough, so he becomes Savitar and goes back in time and disrupts Barry so much that he HAS to become stronger to defeat him, bringing our Berry to a point where he is strong enough to defeat the big bad
The only problem with Savitar being the original flash is him knowing what was going to happen to Barry but that would be cool
Another flaw with the S2 time remnant, he couldn't know the dialogue and stuff that Savitar says he already lived. I think it's just a future Barry from this timeline because Wally says in the promo that Savitar is Barry from the future. And that comes after Barry asks him how he became Savitar so he probably tells him.
it could be a time remnant, because savitar says that only one of them could live, either barry or savitar, and when barry is figuring out who savitar is, they include a scene where barry sees a time remnant, and future flash says "you'll create time remnants of yourself, but he'll kill them all, mostly!" there's a reason they included that
What about a time remnant that was made after the events we are watching now? He would remember everything perfectly up to the time he was made. 2024 Barry said that 2017 Barry would make a bunch of time remnants, but Savitar will kill them all MOSTLY. That explains why Savitar didn't kill Tracy Brand before, because he didn't know about her until 2024 Barry gave 2017 Barry the information. This makes sense because 2024 Barry met Tracy and worked with her after he made the time remnant. The only flaw i can think of in this is that I don't know why 2017 Barry would make time remnants now, knowing what he does, but it looks like they are wiping his memory next week, so maybe that has something to do with it. I definitely the way they are going because when Barry was putting it all together at the end of 3x20, one of the things that ran through his head was the statement 2024 Barry made about the time remnants. As for why would any future version of our Barry would kill Iris, I think that he has been in the speed force so long, he has lost his humanity. He no longer feels love or empathy or grief . That is why he tells Killer Frost that if she kills someone she will become a god and rise above the pain of mortal men. At this point he doesn't want to lose that. Whether or not you like this reveal, it does make it interesting and I think that the next three episodes could make or break this season.
I think this evil Savitar version of Barry is an alternate universe futures' version of Barry, most likely anyway. Or, it is the time remnant of Barry. It could be the final theory you talked about.
two Flaws....2024 Barry had already sealed Savitar and in the latest trailer, when iris is talking to Future Barry/Savitar, she touches his face while talking to him and seems smitten (maybe not the word to use) but he seems like he misses her.
your theory has one problem..If I remember correctly wellseobard was from the OG timeline and so was the future newspaper article..So that means the OG barry was married to Iris as well..So he still is with Iris. The show has quite established the fact that Iris is a key element in Barry Allen's life no matter what version, earth or timeline..So even if the OG Barry comes back to kill Iris he would basically be killing his WIFE..Right?
Pagey dude the comic book version of future flash in new 52 has alot of similarities because there suits design are kinda the same there lightning color is the same and there both future Barry so it would make sense if Savitar was from the 50th century just like the new 52 comic book future Flash.
So riddle me this: from Savitar's point of view, he just escaped from the speed force, which he's going to be trapped in, in a few years. Where does his personal timeline end? Is he in a time loop of being trapped in the future, then escaping in the past, just to get trapped again?
When Barry is figuring out the identity in the latest episode, he remembers his future self saying that he'd made multiple remnants of himself to fight Savitar. I thought the pretty clear implication was that one of them survived and became Savitar!
Savitar is a 2024 remant that wasnt killed by future savitar. So its a timeloop where he "creates himself". Also that is why the remnant Savitar has 2017 Barry's memories.
Could it be like "The One" with Jet Li? A Barry from a future yet different timeline travels through breaches, killing his other selves, absorbing their Speedforce via the suit? If Cisco can Vibe a Flashpoint where Barry stays, then it stands to reason that every change in the timeline has an alternative where the event didn't occur. Maybe it's Barry from the original timeline, who outran the tsunami but failed to save Iris, Joe and the rest of Team Flash and Central City. Maybe he blamed himself and went on a Hal Jordan rampage trying to fix things and blaming himself to a degree where he actively hunted his other selves a la Future Flash.
The flaw with the time remenant cant be savitar, because the time remenant died *before* the events of season 3, savitar obviously remembers what happened in season 3. This disregards most, if not all theories for which Barry Savitar is.
The main problem with most of these options is the detailed memories future Barry has. So unless you think he has psychic link or is a time traveling Peeping Tom, they don't make sense. So it must be future version of the current Flash. Now I have a hard time with Iris, about the only thing is she is already dead in his time line. So like the Reverse Flash in season one in his mind she is already long dead.
What I don't get, especially now, is how come Savitar Barry can remember everything about Barry's life even though he's changed the future so many times this season, especially now that he's figured out who Savitar really is. Now that he knows who he is, doesn't that create a completely different future from the one we experienced in 2024? If so, doesn't that create a whole new sequence of memories that Savitar wouldn't know? So why is there a need to wipe out his memories in the next episode?
Savitar's knowledge is a problem for all of these possibilities. He had to be present in both Flashpoint and the conversation with Killer Frost to have known everything that he did. That rules out alternate Earth Barry, past time remnants, pre-Flashpoint Barry, and maybe even 2024 Barry who quite likely changed his own timeline when he handed over that data module.
The Flash low-key is the best TV show right now to me. I love The Flash....XD.
I believe that he's from the night when he stopped season 1 Barry from saving his mom.
Season 1 Flash goes back in time to save his mom -> Future Flash stops him then grabs and runs young Barry out of there -> After saving his younger self he runs back into the speed force (returning back to the future) -> Season 3 Flash comes and saves his mom from Reverse Flash, season 1 Flash disappears, so you can safely assume that Future Flash also disappears while he was in the speed force running back to his time, but with the speed force protecting him from disappearing it trapped him in the speed force instead.
My theory right there.
It doesn't matter if he agreed before he helped Barry, after he got trapped in the speed force, he could still change his mind and then resent sacrificing himself after the fact.
My theory is that Savitar was a version of our Barry who came in contact with the Philosopher Stone, and the stone restored the memories he had from a timeline that's been erased or something like that. A similar thing happened with Edward Clarris. He seemed like a guy with a normal life, but then got his memories from Flashpoint back and became the rival again.
You made some good points that made sense as to why options 2 and 3 don't fit. Even though options 1, 4 and 5 are probably the best options there is only one flaw with them and it is want Barry said to Savitar. He said you were there you remember because you lived it when you were me. There is no way options 1, 4 and 5 would be able to be there and live through those things.
many of these theories have a major flaw. If it was a remnant of Barry from season 2 or a Barry from another Earth then he wouldn't have the memories of our current Barry. This is either a big plot hole or it really is future Barry but like a remnant from the fight with Savitar. Basically the future Barry has not yet been created.

am i the only 1 that wonders why savitar was way faster in the beginning of the season? he was going so fast it looked like he was jumping thru portals when he was smacking berry even jay around. Then he gets out of the speed force and berry is as fast as him now. i wonder if the og berry made the suit himself or if its from the speedforce also.
I think Savitar is OUR future Barry. He knows everything our barry does and says and that's the only explanation.
I hope in the last scene of the season finale, reverse flash comes back like he said he would in the premiere and they go back and time and basically the scene from the season one finale happens when Barry tells Barry not to cause flashpoint
anyone else notice how the flash is becoming more like the arrow (in terms of villians) think about it: in season 1 of both shows the bad guy was a mysterious person who was the "reverse" or mirror version of Oliver and Barry. season two the villain was bigger and better then our hero, and was a sort of a mentor to the main character at the begining of the season ("jay gerrick"/hunter zolomon and slade.) . In season three of both shows our main character became a bad guy at one point. Just think about it. this also has me worried for season 4 of the flash
I think it is definitely the version of Barry that we saw running around the thing that Zoom built in season 2. The 5th theory is smart in all but Barry said to Savitar at the end of episode 20 that he would have had to live that life. I like the theory of 2056 Barry as well, honestly I think I will be watching Legends of tomorrow again, especially the crossover

My theory is that 2024 Barry Allen at 25 April was the date where he tried to save iris but in doing that got stuck in the speed force, And relived iris death over and over again blaming his past self for not saving her and goes back to get back at him. this is just my theory don't hate on me

Y'all remember this. When Savitar first born, Iris was alive. Even if she was dead, it's not because of Savitar. Because before Savitar was first born in the future, at that time, there was no Savitar in the past to kill Iris. Pagey, think about this. So why would Savitar come back and kill Iris and blame the present Barry?
i would say there is a 6th option. Savitar is Flashpoint Barry. Barry that lived in flashpoint with mom and dad was a time remnant, our Barry we've followed from the start *reason why he had his speed and has old memories*. But what happened to the kid Barry, the Flashpoint Barry? I believe that while our Barry was living a happy live with mom and dad and took the place of Flashpoint Barry the Original Flashpoint Barry accidentally found the stone that gave Kid Flash his powers. Seeing how the stone can restore powers from Flashpoint it could also possibly restore Barry's speed, even enhance it. But right when Flashpoint Barry gets his powers our Barry "Fixes" the timeline, and suddenly Flashpoint Barry becomes the time remnant. Flashpoint Barry goes insane, starts getting glimpses of our Barry's timeline, just not the past but the future as well. He blames our Barry for the death of his parents and our Barry took everything he ever loved. This would explain 2 things, 1 why he looks the same age as our Barry, and 2 he never loved Iris as much as our Barry. This theory works as theory 1 you give, but in my opinion this makes more sense for the story they've made.

My theory after seeing the Promo for episode 21 is that team flash's attempts to mess with Barry's memories to stop Savitar actually messes with Barry's mind and starts him down the path.
Remember when talking to Savitar through Julian, he looks at the whole team saying "YOU DID THIS TO ME, ALL OF YOU."
"I'm Barry Allen and I'm the fastest man alive."

One thing i dont understand is that, Savitar told Barry, when he created Flash Point, it gave him the idea to give Wally West his powers again so he could take his place in the Speed Force
I think it's the remnant as well. Maybe when he disintegrated, he was saved by the Speed Force like Eobard.
Barry says that Savitar has lived all of this, thus the reason he knows everything they are going to do. It is all just a memory to him. For example, the warehouse scene with killer frost and how she knows exactly what Barry is going to say. Because of this, I disagree with your final option for Savitar. The Barry he replaced, as you said in your video, would not have been attached to Iris. I don't believe your last theory/option of a alternate version of Barry is correct.
If it is a completely different version of Barry how has Savitar already lived through everything current Barry has? I mean you theory makes sense if Savitar didn't have all of current Barry's memories, but he does and that is the entire premise of next weeks episode.

Pagey the problem with your theories is that savitar has lived Barry's life as he knows what he will say where people are and when they do stuff therefore it cannot be the time remnant that help Barry defeat zoom as he has not lived to this current period and it can't be the original Barry who gets his speed 7 years later as he would not have done what current Barry does - good theories tho !
Last option u mentioned was perfect option and would make sense as he hasn't "quote" existed, most of that due to thawne but then again also due to flashpoint
This is most likely just our barry in the future, heres my theory so far
Barry's face is burned most likely because of his speed. Like Tracy said, his speed is so fast, that he needs the suit to displace the energy, he literally runs so fast now that it burns his skin if he runs without the Savitar metal.
Also, the reason he wants to kill Iris is obvious. its a Causal Loop, Savitar killing Iris set him on the path to eventually becoming Savitar, so as Savitar he had to go back and kill Iris so he'd become Savitar. Its a Bootstrap Paradox, you don't exactly know what first started the loop, but thats it, he needs to kill Iris to make sure he comes into existence.
Thats why Barry says, "Iris, I'm sorry you have to die... But Its You or Me"
Maybe the one who died in season 2 finale was the actual Barry
And the Barry in season 2 is the time remnant and Barry wants to get his life back
For anyone confused when savitar said I created my myself, it's referring to when Barry saves the universe. He turns into the lighting bolt that gives him his powers
Problem with Pre-Flashpoint Barry is that he remembers everything this version of Barry does which would have been different as there would be no Killer Frost and more.
This explains a lot, I think my favourite theories are the first and last ones you explained.
