No, you don't understand.
The moment I realized they had health bars, they became my children.
I crafted a bunch of Mist potions just for them. I bought regular potions and hi-potions as well.
I saw an enemy smack one of them and he promptly ate a Cross-Slash.
Same here. The one and only time in the game that I used items.
Bro I’m so happy I stock piled so many potions. A good soldier never gets left behind dammit😤
@@blueknife7747 On Dynamic mode I found strapping Yuffie and Tifa with Item Master made Mist Mega-Potions decent enough healing when I didn't have or want to use the MP. Cura being 14 MP is backbreaking for longer boss fights like the Summon double battles or Gilgamesh, and I don't always have the two ATB charges for Yuffie to use Pray.
Now, thankfully, going into Hard Mode Aerith will be almost permanently strapped with the HPMP Materia, giving her almost 4k MP, so she will be my backline Heal-Bot in areas where she isn't compulsory. A bit of a shame given that Radiant Ward, Transcendence and Ray of Judgment are all INSANELY good damage options. I might do that with Nanaki instead so I can keep Aerith available for the frontline.
A TRUE CHAD YOU ARE!
so i wasn't the only one.
Trooper: Will we see each other again, sir?
Cloud: Count on it.
Me: I hope that's not some heavy foreshadowing
I doubt they will punish us for going out of our way to keep these guys alive, so if anything there will probably be some sort of long-term benefit/reward for keeping them alive in Part 3. The same will likely be true for other optional tasks you pulled off as well.
he killed them all in forgotten city
@@bladerj
Oh my god, please don’t let that be true; also what about the trooper that recognized Cloud and was gonna call Kunsel, is he still alive?
@@genoveus problably, he was in midgar and its the same one cloud throws the sword at window
Probably in some submarine, chasing after a green titanic weapon
Zack would definitely be proud.
God Bless the 7th Infantry. I got so caught up in the feeling of camaraderie with them, I started to feel bad about lying to them. Gathering them to march in the parade, putting on the performance of a lifetime, and winning that Outstanding Performance award. They're a good squad, and I wish them the greatest. I hope we encounter them on good terms again sometime.
I actually wanted to stay with them over my party and that says something.
Agreed. My heart almost broke when they joked about figuring out we were the traitor. Then i was touched when they sent me off with honour
For real. I was so afraid I'd have to fight my poor gullible ducklings. ;_;
I get the feeling we'll see them again. I hope we get a scene where Cloud and Avalanche are confronted by them and Cloud gives a speech about how everything he's done is to protect Midgar the same as the 7th. Then we get to see them decide to side with Cloud even if that means going against Shinra. I really hope they don't die as heroes though.
Well, in the original FFVII.... ah, well, it might be changed anyways.
I like the eyes peeking out from under the helmets. They're no longer the faceless fodder.
Cloud leading these infantrymen reminds of when Zack was also leading infantrymen in Crisis Core, and Cloud was one of them.
It’s a passing of the torch in a sense. Zack had a big influence on Cloud, now Cloud passes that along to these 5 infantrymen. These 5 will go on in life remembering the amazing Captain that lead them and gave a damn about the lives of his subordinates. They will try to live up to that image, and maybe, just maybe be that same inspiration for another group in the future. A little be it hope in this crazy Final Fantasy.
"the Jackass with the bike? He's a... Jackass."
"That we know, sir."
“What I wanted to ask is… why you keep trying to shake us.”
"Are we really that much of a burden to you? 🥺"
I have known these men for exactly 8 minutes and 39 seconds and I already love them and wish to protect them with my life.
I was so proud to have the 7th infantry follow me bravely into battle. At the end, as i was going down the elevator i was nervous something was gonna happen to em once i was unable to do anything so i kept them in view until i was all the way down. Nothing bad happened and i assume they went on to carry the great name of the 7th Infantry
(insert muffled explosion as soon as you cannot see them)
This is what missing from the original (I think they also wanted to convey this but was unable to do so). Shinra, despite being an evil company, in the end, all those grunts are just normal human beings. They smile and laugh, sad, sharing joy, feel pain, etc. The bad guy is just several top most guy (again, not all of them) but then we see Shinra is evil as whole.
Even Rufus is not a bad guy (he is more like an antihero) but we only see this at almost the end of FF7 original (and during advent children). But in remake, we see it much earlier... I guess it's because the jig is already up so the dev doesn't need to hide it anymore.
Yea, these guys (well, a pseudo-equivalent of them) were in the original too but they didn't get any of the post-parade touching scenes that would have really hammered things home. They do show up again later though and... well, that would be spoiling I guess (not that there's any guarantee the remake will do things the same way as the original FFVII did)
I remember in Remake, when Cloud, Tifa, and Barret are climbing Shinra HQ to save Aerith, they have to fight various enemies while the elevator ascends. That is until it opens and they see a normal person on the other side. Tifa notes that it's easy to forget that there are just normal people working for Shinra; people who just want to support their loved ones. I think she also felt guilty for what Avalanche did, as their actions sort of caused trouble for those people.
I'd say Rufus is more of an anti-villain but yeah.
Well said! It’s also somewhat a reflection of our reality as well most soldiers on the frontlines are just regular people who have much in common despite being on opposite ends of the conflict it’s mainly the people at the top who are evil and stoke the fires of conflict. I think this whole segment was beautiful in just showing that these guards are regular people with hobbies, hopes, and dreams.
How in the world did one of those guys hand Cloud his Buster Sword with one hand? Holy crap, he's strong! XD
Sometimes we just never know how light the Buster Sword actually is just by looking at Shinra Infantry (including past Cloud) lifting it up effortlessly.
In crisis core lore three soldiers could barely pick up the sword, the only reason why Zack and Cloud could pick it up so effortlessly is Mako poisoning and training.
Not really, past Cloud was just obscenely strong in moments of crisis. Cloud has always had phenomenal strength held back by his mental state, in Crisis Core he even managed to not only lift and run with the Buster Sword, he even managed to leap above and clear a whole set of stairs in the reactor to swing the sword down on Sephiroth. Even that doesn't compare to lifting Sephiroth's weight from the opposite end of Masamune while he was impaled and swinging him so hard the impact of his body crumpled the reinforced metal walls of the reactor. All that was without even a drop of Mako, even Sephiroth was stunned in disbelief before Cloud yeeted him.
Though cloud had a hard time lifting the buster sword at the end of cc. Cloud’s strength changes alot.
Cloud literally yeeted Sephiroth lol
Roche is so fucking extra
Yeah, he is, and we love him for it.
He's Majima, but with the horny/violence slider slightly closer to the horny side
My glorious flamboyant king
glad i kept them all alive, assumed there would be something like this and wasnt disapointed
I thought it would be a failure if you didn't keep one alive
I appreciate seeing Cloud be a man of his Troopers.
I got really attached to these guys at the end because I prioritized saving all of them above all else and at the end i genuinely almost cried when I noticed Cloud was going to pull out his buster sword and kill them-
I'm glad they were spared though :)
And there's always a distinct possibility, they're looking up in awe in advent children somewhere. wondering how the hell their captain was so strong
Cloud is the realass. If Shinra hadn't fucked him over, this would be the result...
It was actually Sephiroth and then Hojo, not entirely Shinra's fault
but yeah
He also had a group of close friends in his unit back then, and Kunsel was probably his best buddy.
he was definitely the strongest in the group, as well as the unit. it was obvious as he was a SOLDIER candidate
while he wasn't confident back then, I still think he had it in him all along, those friends would've helped him grow in a more natural way
if things didn't go south, he would've gone up in ranks eventually
@bluebearie7230
I mean tbf shinra fucked sephiroth over first which turned him evil enough to ruin cloud's life, so shinra would still be behind like 99% of all the game's tragedies lmao
@@qazwsx014jsbd8 I'd say more of it lays with Hojo since most terrible things in the FF7 universe can be blamed on the man to some capacity, but since Hojo is part of Shinra.... not entirely wrong.
Hope that the 7th infantry, are going to be the guys who eventually become the assistants to Cid when we get the highwind in pt3
remember cloud used to be one of those grunt's back in crisis core.
Relationship with the 7th Infantry has changed.
I'm thinking this might affect the Submarine Hijack scene in Part 3. Something to keep in mind.
Also maybe the highwind crew.
I’m guessing it’ll affect the return to Midgard in part 3
Given that choices we made in part 1 didn’t carry over to part 2, I doubt it’ll be that way for part 3
They're all technically different games
What you do won't get carried over, at least not directly
it mostly depends on which variation will get canonized by Square.
@@bluebearie7230The Mass Effects games also were different games, yet the choices I made in ME carried all the way to ME3. It's not some arcane technology that isn't mastered, heck, it's not even a recent technology. It could port to part 3, but if it doesn't, it's not because Square couldn't, but it's because they were too lazy to do it.
My gosh Cloud really is a sweetheart deep down under his Alien Gene Treatment lol
...Yeah, they all knew. They all figured it out by the end. But dammit, it's hard to fake respect when it comes to performance. Cloud put his heart into it, the men did back, and a bond was formed between them.
Also helps Cloud's got a hell of a Charisma score.
Hi there! I just stumbled into this video too. I haven't played these remakes add all but now I'm beginning to wonder if I should. I stumble into videos of good little moments and scenes like this here and there. I think this is my favorite random scene I've seen so far.
@@CharemTheShadoxAll of it are good. Should actually be played in order to not be confused. You can started with Crisis Core Reunion, Remake then this to fully understand it :P
@@justanordinaryguy._.7399 Makes sense!
7:06 "that we know, sir" lmao
These guys were so good people, I went out of my way to make sure they were safe. I threw myself at any and every enemy so they would focus me instead. If anyone got below half health, they got a potion.
Shiiiit, these brave and loyal men ate a potion anytime they were missing any hp. I refused to let such good soldiers be hurt for my sake.
Never played This game but I can totally understand the commitment for keeping them alive. (coming from a Halo player who tried his damn near hardest to keep each marine alive)
7th company knew. These are true homies.
I just freaken love how SE handled Rebirth. These moments are so handled well and great.
this was somehow wholesome...
Nice of cloud to show his troopers the ropes. He does have experience being fodder 😂
Now if this was a band of brothers style fps they would all have names and backstories.
The Midgar 7th better show back up. I swear, if they go out protecting Cloud and Avalanche from Shinra in some kind of heroic last stand, I WILL BURN THIS PLACE DOWN!!
I never cared so much for no-name, no-face grunts like these gentlemen here. *MY MEN WILL LIVE TO SEE ANOTHER DAY*
It would have an emotion gut punch to see cloud kill those soldiers in the temple.
Sephiroth: Now there's an interesting thought 🤔
*takes notes*
Brothers to the end. Leave none behind
1:33 was such a gutpunch tbh
I was very proud to be their captain. Had to make sure they get home💪
I felt bad because I lost one. That soldier was gunned down by his own comrades while he was unknowingly protecting an imposter. Poor dude died for literally nothing.
Cloud is gonna save the world, while its a tragic loss that man died protecting a hero
@@AKASUKIJOE Sadly, that trooper died never knowing the value of his sacrifice.
@badluck1015 most people who save eventual heroes don't, it's tragic no matter what but at least in the grand scheme of things it wasn't pointless
@@AKASUKIJOEwhat did the cutscene look like?
@ALinkToThePresent it's about the same if you keep em all alive just with all five Soldiers to give the final salute
For democrac- oh wait wrong game
Rock and ston- wait a minute
Lol
Just imagine, Helldivers 2 customization is updated to put the Shinra grunt uniforms on when playing the Helldivers 2 game.
Would you like a nice cup of Liber-TEA?!
@@bunxi6717For the emperor of ma- sorry, also wrong.
Not only did he cut a Bike in half, not only did he NOT Move, but he was Carrying the entire bike with his blade...Cloud is fkn Stronk!
"Lifestream, hun-- SON!"
XD
I'm kinda pissed at Cloud reaching for his sword, I was hoping he'd say he WASN'T the assassin since he actually wasn't and was going on ahead to pursue a lead on the suspect but didn't want to endanger his troops. Shit i also think he should've shook Roche's hand or something, you know actually be friends with him because I don't think Roche is a bad dude, just someone who is way too excitable and is so focused on zooming ahead he doesn't realize the destruction he causes (soldiers he maimed or killed making an entrance) but in this one he has the full respect of the soldiers so maybe something changed because in remake they didn't like him at all but now they're saluting and cheering him on
For shinra soldiers, i hope they're the ones commanding the highwind with cloud along with commander edelgard and the blue one
I dont have the ps5 to play game and I've been trying to look for video that have all of the troop alive, so thank you so much for keeping all of them safe for me.
I suspect we're seeing five future Avalanche recruits.
You think the guy that recognize Cloud and was gonna call Kunsel is in Rebirth as well?
My guess is that he (and possibly Kunsel) will show up again in Part 3, possibly with him not only meeting Cloud again but getting even more of a shock to see Zack standing there with him.
I hope to see these guys in Part 3 when we return to midgar to deal with Hojo, Scarlett and Heidegger
I think the issue with health items in modern games is that with so many checkpoints and ability to save in normal difficulties they become redundant, but give a player a "party" of expendable NPCs with oerma death and oh boy will those healing items have a use.
May we cross paths once again my brothers in arms 🫡
The wrist strength on that guy...
I have chosen NOT TO MAKE THE JOKE.
*But your brain did.*
Leave NO man behind.
Til we cross paths again.
That was a "secret" scene? Huh. I just kept them alive because it was a fun challenge.
I kept them alive because we were the Boyz!
I'm not gonna lie the end of this clip has me crying all boogery like😭
At the end the guy says that they are looking for a young woman. Yet they all agreed to help cloud to beat their co workers.
The moment I noticed that they had health bars I turned into the secret service with how much effort I put in protecting each and every one of them. Even a sliver of health missing means I have to use a mist potion
I never thought that I was gonna feel bad for Roche 😢
Damn that really hit me hard that scene. I only lost 1 of my troopers and all i got as a gift was an Elixir but even when i still had my 4 troopers that whole scene really made it feel special
Even if there wasn't a special cutscene and reward id reload a save if any of them died and try until i kept them all alive, i did on my first try via cure and potions in between battles and it was beyond worth it
Even by FF7 standards Roche is hammy.
That's because he's a DMC/Bayonetta character in the wrong game.
@@Rudoku1 And he's awesome for it, rip you hammy SOLDIER you..
I still don't quite get why this was the most powerful moment of the whole game for me. I'm not even ex-military or anything.
Man I hope those guys don’t end up dead
If the third game follows the original's story line close enough that the party gets locked up in Junon, I'm really expecting these guys to break us out, defect from Shinra and help steal/crew the Highwind.
Honestly, I wanna play the whole game with them
I got one of them killed and his death actually hurt me more than Jessie and Wedge’s deaths.
What would happen if the 5 troopers had not survived?
Won't it be a failure then?
3 of them are invincible. Otherwise, the cutscenes will show 3-5 soldiers depending on how many live.
I kinda hope we see them again.
They call themselves the seventh so who knows.
0:40 Interesting how the infantryman carries the buster sword like how Zack and Angeal did
Given how easy it is to keep them all alive, even on Hard, I'm pretty sure that the cutscene when they're not all alive is the alternate one.
Roche is what Zenos aspires to be.
I really love this scene and respect he enemy
Thank the Planet for soothing breeze.
These five will be next generation of soldier the soldier who protects the world 😊
I just "Pray"ed they'd say alive, seemed to work out.
Here's hoping for a good reunion.
To think this could have been real for Cloud if Things never went wrong in Nibelheim
6:24 didn't expect that wink from cloud ngl😂
that was a blink, the camera angle sorta hid his other eye
Didnt roche killed his own soldiers in the first game to do sick tricks?
Could be an entirely different squad. SOLDIERs generally work either very light, or alone.
@@kyotanaka920 Yep. Just look at the Nibelheim incident. Two SOLDIERs sent out with only two Troopers as backup. A SOLDIER, particularly a 1st Class Soldier like Sephiroth & Zack are basically a one-man army in their own right, so it would be a very rare occasion for them to actually need help from Troopers or even another SOLDIER.
Nah that was rubber tires, they just got concussions
"We defeated the wrong enemy" 🗿
Wait, "Alternate" cutscenes? You mean some people didn't keep the troopers alive and didn't get this?
This confirms it FinalFantasy 7 is just a whole theatrical and Clouds buster sword is just a cosplay props 😂
My boys! I didn’t realize this was a secret lol
I made sure all of them were kept safe, bought several potions just for them. Maybe in the next installment we'll see them in the Submarine in the Underwater Reactor.
I had no idea this was a secret cutscene. I tried my best to keep those blessed idiots alive and managed to do so. It never occurred to me that the scene might not of happened if any of them died. xD
So wholesome, the description saying that they aren’t afraid to lay down their lives for their captain? 🥹 And the dialogue as they fight with you, they’re always like “protect the captain at all costs” so good. And I’m so glad we get to see them in some side quests as well.
I lost one of these brave men when I played this chapter. 😭
Pocket lint and 13 gil!
Went back to the healing bench after every fight. Keeping them alive wasn’t super hard doing that.
I just used Potions to top them off when necessary, since I had plenty of them sitting around in my inventory. Made it pretty easy to keep them alive without having to keep running back and forth between the bench(es).
@@gamester512 Didn't know you could use potions on them, I just redo the fights if someone get hit badly
@@Gamemaster-64 You can use both items and magic on them. For instance, if you had Magnify linked to Healing materia, you could do an AOE Cure/Cura/Curaga/Regen on yourself and all of the Troopers at once.
The troopers are essentially treated as quasi-party members in the same way that Sonon was in the Intergrade DLC for Part 1, where they are part of your party but they will act on their own and you cannot directly control them.
I had Prayer on Cloud. Keeping them alive was easy.
Mist Potions for the win
I hope they make this canon going forward
The music at 7:30 ❤
I always wondered how long would they actually follow him if he didn't split.
Kinda wish we could play the game with the trooper guys, they seem great.
If they are not on the highwind and submarine crew, the creators flat out failed.
Seriously, who is this dude 🤣 roche is such a character.
3:12 Cloud: ... (Can ONE OF US die so I am free of *this?!* )
XD
I just used Soothing Breeze to keep them all alive, 🙂 love that enemy skill materia!
Larboard Junon.... damnit KOJI!
Anyone else getting "Metal Gear Solid" flashbacks?
I got this the first try so I just thought it was by default
So, when we get to the submarine arc...
Is Roche going to be Cloud's Zenos?
Due to events in chapter 11, he will not appear in part 3.
kinda reminds me of snow on the bike sister hahaha
