William Forsythe performed Capone sooo well ~ i don't watch much television, rather be doing productive things, but I never missed an episode when Forsythe was Capone.
William Forsythe is an impressive man. I've always been attracted to his portrayal of Flattop. It wasn't a deep role or anything and the make up had to be uncomfortable but he's the only actor in the Dick Tracy franchise to faithfully portray that character.
This is one of the best Hollywood interviews I've ever seen. Never have I watched Mr. Forsythe open up like this. This is amazing. Truly. No joke. Thank you for this. OK?
Thankyou so much Matthew! William was an easy interview, he is a great guy & I did my homework as well I'm a fan of his work since "Out For Justice" Now we are friends.
I love interviews that make you feel you sitting in on a LR convo. The host, I'm sure, is helped by knowing Forsythe personally. And, I've always liked this actor and his (sometimes) monotone bass voice. Just checked in to learn a little more about him.
It's weird that he says he liked Cagney for the reason that this was who Forsythe reminded me of, oddly enough, in Devils Rejects. The scene where he is getting "steamy" and violent with Leslie Easterbrook reminded me of Torrid Zone, 1940, between Cagney and Ann Sheridan. Cagney had a little "thing" for Ann. I wonder if maybe there was a little something between Forsythe and Easterbrook? There was a chemistry there, an explosive chemistry and, even though that scene was brutal and violent, it was still quite "nuclear"...the sparks (or perceived sparks) between the two were amazing.
Is there any particular reason why nobody ever asks him about his role in American Me? He was freakin brilliant in that movie. Hard to believe he was the same guy who played the nerdy video game store employee in Cloak and Dagger.
