  • Episode 104 - Dean nelson takes a dive into the Triton product, a fully integrated liquid cooled server rack solution from Dell with specialized Intel CPUs that remove the internal thermal throttles implemented for legacy air based cooling. The triton product is the result of 7+ years of industry work initiated by the Data Center Pulse ChillOff competition held at Sun Microsystems in 2008 & 2009.

    What percent of the total heat load of the server is removed by the liquid? What is the amount of total power, liquid removed power, and air-cooled power for these. I know the HP Peregrine at NREL has 80kW cabinets that extract 90% of the heat via liquid, leaving 8kW per cabinet to be removed by air.
