It's kind of crazy that in the middle of their financial struggles, Six Flags Over Texas decided to spend a few million dollars to have a company that had never built a coaster retrack Texas Giant, and it ended up working
It feels like pure luck lol
Also that the tragic fatal accident on NTG didn't kill RMC's hybrid business in its cradle. Granted that got blamed on Gerstlauer's trains, which RMC stopped using.

The fact that I live in a random town in little Sweden and I’ve got Wildfire (which is on most enthusiasts bucket lists) so close to me to ride all summer is BEYOND me. The fact that Kolmården, a completely normal zoo with no other major rides at all, actually bought a world class RMC literally crazy, like wtf? Guess I’ve got Six Flags to thank for making RMC gain the momentum it needed.
I mean I got Zadra in my home park so I'm not complaining.

I have a video idea: you should do the evolution of Hershey Park. I know you’ve been there and they have a really cool backstory. You can get creative with this but I was thinking how they got their start and evolved into the park they are today; especially with their park themed around chocolate and candy. Have fun with this idea if you are interested!
Awesome video! I was a bit confused by one thing, though. How are you defining what is "objectively good"? Is it just the overall quality or more specific factors like ride experience, thrill level, reliability, throughput, comfort, etc? I haven't had the chance to visit cedar point yet, so I didn't fully get the Maverick comparison (it looks "objectively" good to me)
Also, I'd love to see an RMC family coaster, lol.

id be interested in learning more about the different manufacturers, such as how the current ones came to be and how the defunct ones became defunct.
or even a video about how to better guess the manufacturer based on coaster design- some are obvious like the RMC hybrid design or the distinctly round loops on a Gerstlauer, but others are harder to guess.
i would also like to see more comparisons of a manufacturers coasters, such as how all the B&M hypers alike and different?
i love your channel and love getting to learn more about coasters. i've only ridden 18 myself (and that unfortunately includes a vekoma slc, 2 wild mice, and several family coasters) and im trying to save for cedar point next year! i love coasters and since i cant ride any right now, i can watch your channel and just learn more about them for now. i love coasters so much i need to ride more. i also love your channel so much i hope you keep making new videos!!
Little dig at Mack at the end there eh? I kind of like the simplicity of power splash concept. Was super bummed out, but not surprised, Six Flags Over Texas didn't have their shit together when I visited in December.
Future of chance rides for a video idea
RMC is like a launch coaster that keeps launching.
It’s oddly poetic and surprisingly true that RMC is great because it isn’t great. I think most people can agree that hybrid coasters are not built for the gp, but are built for the coaster enthusiasts. Can you imagine if a b&m hyper had similar elements to an rmc hybrid? People would call it awkward and janky. But what’s so great about the whole hybrid model is that it makes EVERYONE happy. It’s an intense and possibly nostalgic rehash of an old coaster, parks know they’re reliable and incredibly cheap since they use the old supports, and for one to be built, a wooden coaster had to be built before guaranteeing that another company had a sale. Even what you would think would be their main problem, that they need a good coaster to make a good rmc isn’t even true. The coaster SteVe was made from wasn’t very good, and they turned that into the best coaster of all time.
A bit out of the direct channel focus, but gave you considered a talk or retrospective on theme park management games? Things like the Roller Coaster Tycoon series, Thrillville, and Planet Coaster
I would but the only one I've dabbled in is planet coaster for a couple of hours

I think there is one aspect that made RMC one of the most influential coaster manufacturers out there. PRICE.
Compared to other manufacturers, RMC's are known to be suprisingly affordable for what you will get.
Imagine this: A ground-up RMC Hypercoaster, like Zadra at Energylandia, costs around US$14 Million, which is slightly cheaper than an average B&M looper, but it is WAY more thrilling in comparison.
Imagine if Ghost rider was rmc’d. That ride would be even better.

Who's chasing parks to work with them?? S&S?
1) Do a video on the man himself, Alan Schilke; his origins with Arrow, his bonkers concept that became the 4D, his designing for S&S (and others?) after Arrow, and the next-generation-inspiring role he plays at/with RMC now. (Also include that cartoon about him kicking away the vertical loop that I mentioned to you before lol).
2) Do a video on the best international RMC
3) Do a number of videos on coasters over in China
4) You could dedicate an entire video to Wood Coaster over in Knight Valley (I think?), which is arguably the best woodie ever built.
5) Do a video about B&M's Dueling Dragons as a segue into talking about Intamin's Dueling Dragons over in China.
6) Do a video about Starry Sky Scrapper [sic], the only B&M flyer with a straight drop and vertical loop. It also has the only other 540° roll/dive (the other being on Flying Dinosaur).
7) Do a video on Golden Horse, their reputation, getting booted from IAAPA, their rip-offs but also their original spinners, and where the company could go if thy started leaving the realm of being a meme.
8) Do a video about the RMC potential in China, both in conversions and ground-ups.
9) OOH! Do a video about that five-lift-hill Diadarasaurus coaster that existed over in Japan (fun fact: two tracks raced, two dueled, and the fifth was "less-intense" and was designed with younger riders in mind), and how it was shortened to just the two tracks, that dueled, and was then at some point "mobius-ed" into what was for a time, the world's longest coaster, even if it was kinda cheating lol.
Honestly though, just sit and stew on China for little bit; that should float your channel for at least a couple months lol.
Also, I can't rave enough about how you end your videos _directly_ after you're done talking. I like to watch to the end of videos to help out, but some channels pad the fuck outta their video endings. Drives me crazy man lol. Anyway, hope all this helped. Peace!

Yeah I think they knocked it so far that they worked harder with the ride experience on Steel Vengeance and Lighting Rod than reliability.

Six flags is poor is one reason they always get RMC Coasters and they don't take care of anything they buy cause they're so poor. Like how can you buy the tallest coaster in the world and not pay anyone to repaint it or even remodel the entire section of the park.

Well yeah RMC is a good company... from an Enthusiast perspective. RMC is hell for Parks. They're capacity is trash, they're trains are just copies of bad ptc trains, maintaining them is absolutely hell and also they have problems Everywhere. Six Flags only works with them because they don't have the budget to do something else
also a bit overrated. for me the rmc are a characterless coaster ..does a lot of things good but they don't do one Thing REALLY good. I have never heard one say oh this one element or characteristic was the banger ..

RMC started building coasters in 2011 with NTG and it was a success. Then they retracked Rattler into Iron Rattler, having the balls to go INSIDE a quarry wall after perpetually playing leapfrog with the fucking thing, eventually going haywire with Lightning Rod, and then they experimented with a drop that goes UPSIDE FUCKING DOWN, doing the same thing with Storm Chaser *AND* Twisted Timbers, and then *(THEN)* trying 200 feet with Steve, doing the same with Iron Gwazi AND Zadra, and finally ditching the double-rail coasters with their raptor model, first at SFFT as Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster, next to CGA as Railblazer (the best-named RMC to date), then Jersey Devil Coaster at SFGAm, and then Stunt Pilot at Silverwood and Wonder Woman Flight of Courage coming to SFMM NEXT FUCKING YEAR!

what wonders me the most is that their first coaster had a fatal accident right of the first week ...yet they still managed to outcome successfull
NTG opened in 2011. The accident happened in 2013. It also involved gross operator error (The rider was way too large for the restraints to be lowered enough) and Gerstlauer-made trains, so it was not the fault of RMC whatsoever.

@@animeleek I absolutely understand why you'd think so, but I live very close to SFOT, and I remember what the media coverage was like. Most people had no idea how new and different the ride was and just thought of it as the same Texas Giant with newer, smoother track and new trains. Six Flags even marketed the ride as a wooden coaster at first because the "hybrid coaster" category wasn't well known at the time.
Six Flags blamed Gerstlauer for the incident and joined the Esparza family's lawsuit against Gerstlauer. I can't recall RMC ever being criticized in the news. I can recall the trains being blamed over and over. I don't think it affected RMC at all.
Also, New Texas Giant doesn't have any outerbanks. RMC didn't introduce those until Iron Rattler.
It seems to me they did it by putting the building contractor side of things ahead of marketing or creativity.
"Just let me help you by installing some reliable equipment."
Then overperforming instead of underperforming like is expected these days.

Excellent video I sure did learn a little bit more about the company and there roller coasters but I always knew for some reason that great adventures be first then all the rest of them for now on on having something new especially from this company . That was always put Great Adventures ahead of every park for years to come when it comes down to being the first and this category of roller coaster amazing! Like you said Evil Genius LOL

Video Idea: Don’t watch other rollercoaster RUclips channels. I think maybe you might be trying to have unique videos on topics that others haven’t covered. Weeeellllll I don’t subscribe to any other coaster RUclips channels. I would watch different ones occasionally, but was never impressed with their script, narration or delivery. You Nailed It on all of these and more. I immediately subscribed because I wanted see and hear what you had to say. In other words I only get my coaster news consistently from you. So please if you are worried that someone else covered the topic. DON’T!! We need you to deliver the content in a way only you can do. Plus you always add fantastic opinions that others can’t match. And finally other content live on RUclips but it gets old fast and we always are looking for the newest content so duplicates are allowed. Anyway if i am waaaayyy off in left field about this than just take it as a compliment that you have THE BEST coaster videos. You just need more of your own B-Roll video, and that will come in time. 👍🏼

There's one point you make here that I've been wondering about.
I rode RMC's Wicked Cyclone, and the Intamin hyper Superman: The Ride, on the same day. Enthusiasts constantly complain about the current "U-brick" restraints on Superman, sometimes complain that they ruined the coaster, and often knocked it many steps down their ranking lists for having those restraints. They don't complain nearly as much about the restraints on Wicked Cyclone, or other RMCs. But to me... Wicked Cyclone's restraints and Superman's felt very similar.
Is it just that Wicked Cyclone is newer, and never had different restraints? That there was no accident- and state-regulation-related drama associated with changing them (unless the New Texas Giant/Gerstlauer tragedy counts)? That people feel Wicked Cyclone is so wild that it's fine if the restraints are U-brick-like? Or is there a real difference I wasn't feeling?
The restraints are pretty much the same, just tighter on Superman. I prefer that because I’m really skinny, so Superman’s tight restraints keep me from getting jostled around too much. Wicked Cyclone’s restraints, on the other hand, have ruined multiple rides for me. Whenever it goes upside down, I slam into the bar and it’s pretty painful, especially when the seatbelt buckle is in a bad spot. For a smaller rider, Superman’s restraints are definitely superior

RMC makes good coasters. But they have grown a little redundant.
BUT, RMC makes some of the least amounts of money in RC manufacturing. It's difficult to get accurate info for most manufacturers since many are abroad. But still its pretty easy to tell with anybody who has a basic business understanding.
Lastly: how many roller coasters does RMC have currently building or designing (announced) plus what they have built over the last few years?
Now how many roller coasters does B&M, intamin, Mack, Premier, Vekoma have currently building & designing? Plus what they have built over the last few years?
I haven't gone and tallied it up, but I'm willing to bet RMC is last or second to last.
No disrespect to RMC oh, I do like them. But in what way have they taken over anything in the industry? It definitely isn't on the financial side. And it surely isn't in the quantity side.
We can say ride enjoyable factor? I guess. But that is just opinion. I love RMC, but I'm gonna put Intamin far above them. And maybe even Premier and SnS, on some days.

RMC is definitely a bit overrated among enthusiasts, but I think Intamin is as well. Both companies produce rides with wonderful layouts that often have capacity and maintenance issues, but I do respect RMC for doing almost everything in-house from design, to fabrication, to assembly and construction. RMC also seems to sell as many coasters as they can make every year, a trait they share with B&M. For a small, family owned company, I think they're doing pretty well.
Sadly the only rmc I can ride in the next 10 years is untamed. Its a good ride but I can’t ride RMC’s in the US

Well luckily Intamin is taking a lot of inspiration from RMC and Kondaa at Walibi Belgium (I assume you are Dutch too, because of your name) will have a layout pretty similar to an RMC, while being an Intamin. Also, Untamed is in the better half of RMCs in the world, so there's nothing to feel bad about.
untamed looks like one of their best so at least you got that
I stopped watching after “this company can do no wrong”. RMC is the Kia motors of coasters, they are the go to manufacturer if you want to do retrack work within the first 5 years. Can’t wait to see how all their coasters hold up after say ten years. 😂😂😂
New Texas Giant is almost 10 years. And it still runs smooth
