this is probably the best Nirvana gig ive seen.....just as previously stated its pre-Nevermind and the band, especially Kurt look like they are actually enjoying what they are doing and that's so fucking good to see....this is Nirvana at their very best and for anyone that was in that crowd....lucky you
thanks! i always thought the BLEACH tour was better - now i have to agree with you :)
(the one in the front)
Reading 1992 for me was the pinnacle from the stage entrance to the encore they were on fire
@@djspacehopper8728 Yeah,was a great experience
Wow, this show was a month before Nevermind was released so the crowd really didn't have a clue what this band was all about.
Really special to see a show like this.
Yet they're loving it nevertheless!
I have to admit I got a little teary eyed about 30 seconds into the 3rd song, Floyd the Barber, just to see how a special time it was for them (the band), and the energy the crowd felt. Ah nostalgia. It was a special time. Wished I got to have seen them...tried once when they were New York but no luck...
and before exhaustion set it...they were hungry (in love with playing) and played their heart out in the pre fame days a little more I bet
If only they knew what they were seeing
to anyone that ever said "kurt was nirvana" please check out this video and see what a bad ass rhythm section dave and krist were, no way this band did what it did without them.
especially Krist's basslines underrated. They always have this smooth, groove and very melodic touch to it
kurt was everything please fuck off but Krist was important backup for him and Dave was just a hired piece of shit
the voice of Nirvana is Kurt. but all in all this three people are Nirvana.
Kurt was Nirvana
@@peterheinzelmann3335 agreed with, such a true statement. Kurt plays the guitar but the funk and the groove and bass and stuff we Dig is held down by Krist
Shortly before Nevermind was released, when Kurt still enjoyed playing Teen Spirit live...
Rare moments...
.
Nirvana is the best
Dave is a monster on drums
i waaas shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaved
No musician in 2015 could have such amazing power and talented as this guys.
+Dima Guitar Not true, they're just not as reported perhaps. Can't say I approve of every thing Miley's been doing, it's Babylon's Whorehouse. And _Disney_ does that, they have no idea what they're not doing - or do they?
+Tian Putra Listen to Violent Soho that will change your mind bud
I'm here xD
+Tian Putra It's not even the power and talent as much as it is the capturing of the zeitgeist. "I don't care what you think unless it is about me" lines like that summed up his entire generation. Every generation of kids has certain personality traits they all relate to. The Boomers were politically active, Gen-X was apathetic and the Millennials are entitled. No musician has ever embodied his generation the way Kurt did.
Turnstile..
I don't think Kurt's voice ever sounded better than it did in that second verse of "Negative Creep". Holy cow.
Man what I would do to be able to go back and go to there concerts. Just to see them. I just cant think of anyone I would love to see now a days! I can only dream about how great it would of been to see Kurt and Nirvana! Damn
wow they sound tight! 1991 was their peak.
check out Paris Canal+ Nulle Part Ailleurs 1994--also at their peak! awesomely intense and maybe THE best Kurt scream ever.
Elena Reed Blows me away every time. Kurt even screams in tune!
Nirvana in this moment of time at this show rules over all things in existence whether all things in existence know it or not
Wow this is an amazing performance!
Pre-nevermind concerts are always the best. Before the weight of his own fame crushed him.
+James Whyte '90-'91 Cobain was him at his absolute best. Feeling the momentum of his band gaining steam, but not yet destroyed by the reality of it all.
Before the weight of him fame slowly crushed him.
+James Whyte I thought it was the weight of a toppled vending machine that crushed him? Isn't that how he killed himself? Rocked one of those Coca-Cola vending machines back and forth like it says not to do until it fell over on him?
Haha
He wanted fame & he got it
I love Nirvana before Courtney.
Me too...Tracy Marander was Kurt's real love! His first girlfriend
Totally 100%
AWESOME !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I saw them at Trees in Dallas on October 19th 1991.AMAZING !!!!
Amazing, i need a time travel machine to witness it.
This is my absolute favorite version of Drain You
Amazing as always- nirvana has always been and always will be number 1...rip Kurt
Best Nirvana bootleg I've ever seen! Kurt comes across like he's ready to become the Rock Star he was meant to be. The band sounds so crisp and tight! Best 3 piece in music history.
LOVE the way he sings negative creep on this, during the verse his voice sounds alot Deeper it just sounds cool as fuck
wow, the crowd was really docile at first, but by the end of Drain You, they were hyped. I think it's awesome that Nirvana never abandoned the Bleach tracks.
I can't help but to feel happy whenever I glance at this video of Kurt because he seems truly interested, enthusiastic about the show. It's beautiful...
So awesome! The crowd or band had no idea what was gonna happen when Nevermind dropped next month.
yeah right, that must be funny to see the unknown nirvana :D there are only pre-nevermind and post-nevermind. blowin up soo fast. in summer 91 they play some afternoon slots, spring 92 they had own headliner shows
Negative Creep is a beaut. Remember the first time that I saw this version.. man I am still shocked
Negative creep...damn it sounds so heavy.
Awesome...thanks for posting video!
This show was the long gruesome sound of Guns n Roses dying.
Mr Sea Turtle They never died in my opinion, they live on everyday when I listen to them and watch them on youtube.
Why?
They're garbage.
Thank Kurt for killing them.
AndreasIreland Axl (Bill Bailey) Rose, was / is a painfully insecure man who was simply threatened by Cobain. He had no sense of irony and couldn't even get along with with his band mates; sang about woman and drugs - how original, Axl.
AndreasIreland Fair enough - but suffice to say Cobain clearly wrote from a place that was far more interesting and creative. This said, despite his shortcomings, Rose was an incredible frontman - one of the best.
Who was that band that played at Dodger Stadium for 2 nights a few months ago...lol
exactly one month BEFORE the release of nevermind... at that time one of many bands at this small festival... And I guess no one knew what was coming just a few weeks after this performance
Joe Guitar Surreal therefore to see this crowd getting down the probably unheard, unreleased track 'Smells like teen spirit'.
Part of this show made it clearer to me how they made the transition from Bleach to Nevermind, a jump I thought huge in terms of song composition and theme. 'Drain You' here seems perhaps something of a transition song (though more catchy in an orthodox sense than the Bleach songs featured) though Teen Spirit was already a new chapter.
Funny that they reproduced that little vocal skit from Novoselic at the start of 'Territorial P*ssings'.
BRob 2015 Indeed, Teen Spirit's first release was to radio, 3 days after this concert
BRob 2015 Really, many songs after bleach if slowed down with less distortion could have easily been "Pop" songs and not "Grunge". If I am not mistaken Kurt even said as much. There was definitely a catchy poppy sound that I think attracted many of their later fans.
yes and that's part of the magic. Yet they sounded so heavy and wild
I can't listen to Teen Spirit anymore, but seeing it live blows my mind, especially this gig. The people here must've been blown away, this probably changed lives and I mean that.
1st song: I believe he is The One.
2nd song: He's Beginning to believe..
3rd song: He is The One...
I'll love them till the day I die
He brought us the power of revolution, planted the seed and then made his way back. The last album in utero shows just that, in utero itself means inside the womb. He was returning to where he longed for a state of peace and rest for his soul hence the band name NIRVANA. He truly was a very very great person utter brilliance and that channeled right to us, he left us something very special. We were lucky to witness his personal rise to finding inner peace which in the end he did find. May you forvever be remembered Kurt Cobain!
wow. Besides Polly, that's a pretty hard core set! Its great as well because its basically Nirvana plays the hits from bleach and nevermind
Krist and the camera guy during SLTS . Haha
Yeah I noticed that too -- dancing around to not let the guy set up his shot. Love it.
the guy behind kurt with the beard seems to have fun
This crowd just got slam danced straight into the 90's, and they don't even know it.
Hoy a sido una gran noche, me e topado con videos de nirvana qu eno había visto, gran aporte.
What a great setlist they had here. Short as it may be.
Kurt Is truly happy in this. :)
20 Kilometer von mir weg, und ich Esel war mit 15 nicht dabei... Unfassbar geil, danke für dieses Zeitdokument!
"Floyd The Barber" = song about The Andy Griffith Show. And frankly, the characters in it weren't always truthful and sometimes Andy lied or caused people to believe things that weren't real E.G. the episode where Andy and Ellen *faked a robbery* to try raising Barney's self-confidence. (Barney was considering turning in his badge because he never caught a criminal.) As it turned out they pinned it on a guy who Barney brought in, and that guy was a robber but that's beside the point - the fact is he didn't rob the drug store and treating him like that wasn't a nice thing to do even though he *was* a wanted man. Sure, Barney inadvertently caught a wanted man *but that man DID NOT ROB THE STORE.*
Considering this, I can see clearly how Kurt may have written the song if he ever had a nightmare after watching that TV show; if he thought of imitating some of the vices shown in it, it would have had that effect - to some effect at least. What to say of the rest of the show and song?
Dave is amazing. Total badass!
This must be right before they totally blew up. I wonder if Kurt knew how huge they would be in the next year or two if he would have continued on or not. Because I heard that was one of the big conflicts that he had. The fact that he railed against the cliché rock star lifestyle, but ended up living it himself and he felt that he was a phony. That's what I remember hearing, I could be wrong. But, if true, you could see his dilemma. Once you reach the level of stardom that Nirvana reached, you just cant put the genie back in the bottle so to speak, you cant ever go back to just playing clubs like in the beginning. He always looked to me like a very reluctant "rockstar". Just my opinion. Take care and peace!
+Chris J Nirvana did play a gig in 1992 where they pretended to be a small band, though I expect you may already know that. It's the last show where they played "Talk To Me" and that footage showed up on their WTLO boxset.
Really, whenever I've seen Nirvana fans they often are so deep into the music that they have stuff nicely organized and there are so many fan sites with so much detailed information. It's a great community in that regard.
I'm surprised how balanced everything is here! you can easily pick out the bass, drums, guitar, or vocals. it's all there! nothing blowing another out! Amazing! Other live performances I've heard the exact oposite
One month before "Nevermind" was released... awesome!
The Crowds applause says it all!
Krist in 'Territorial Pissings' xDD I love that beginning. ^_^/
I remember this. Was there with my friends to watch the other bands. Nirvana wasnt my favourate , more Mudhoney and Melvins . Amazing what become of the Grunge Music since then.
Was there too.
U didn’t know the Melvin’s or mudhoney until Kurt introduced them great bands for sure but that lie is a common one and lame
@@ListedMia-sm4xm that isn't a lie , becos at That time Kurt was not famous at all and the Seattle Music scene was well connected. Even Sonic Youth were some pushing Element to the Grunge music.
@@TheSilverSurger I agree with you about the sonic used part for sure, but for the majority of people that say that they started listening to the Melvins and Mudhoney way before nirvana are lying they helped me discover two great bands and I’m not gonna lie about it. Most people are gonna say I heard bleach before I heard never mind which is probably false unless you’re from that area I never heard bleach immediately after and fell in love with bleach just because that’s what I like, but I like never mind, but not that much I really like this and I like a lot of the I didn’t like because I assumed it was like never mind and I didn’t give it a try until I was and is actually really good unplugged for sure legendary with the meat puppet people that didn’t even grow up listening to the stuff say they heard the puppets first just because of the unplugged I’m just saying be honest and the order of which you discovered the band but if you are truly from that area, then I believe you, but there’s a lot of liars out there about this particular topic
@@ListedMia-sm4xm Sure ,but that is not a problem for me. You See, at the time between 89 - 91 me and my friends discover that type of Music which seeds are mostly in Seattle and that Sub Pop label was a big Part of it. So here in Germany, we looked in little Record Shops to buy All Kind of LPs that were offered. "Touch me I'm sick "was my 1st from that. Really shooked me off .So that was the beginning...
Wow, Dave with a 10" tom looks silly! Sounds great!!!!!!
Wonderful !!!
raw nirvana,,this is nice footage ,Dave Grohl great drummer, the machine is ready to peak
the feedback from school - amazing!!
Grandioso. Kurt, Nirvana. forever...
Here Kurt looks Happy!!(or..),one of the best recitals!!
Teen Spirit is AWESOME here
yeah, especially guitar sounds great
+mattLukyn Guitar nerd stuff: I couldn't figure out why his guitar sounded so much different in this Teen Spirit intro, but I realized after I got my Strat that he's using the bridge and middle pickup at the same time, which gives the guitar that quack sound. I don't recall him doing that at any other time, live or in studio.
Classic, young, sexy - i miss them.
Look how far we have come in 24yrs. Look at the size of that camera at 17:46, I would be willing to bet that you could get better video on most smart phones today than you could get on that giant camera. How crazy is that?
One of their best gigs!
David Eric Grohl (Warren, Ohio, 14 de enero de 1969) es un músico multiinstrumentista estadounidense de rock. Saltó a la fama a comienzos de los años 1990 como batería de la icónica banda de grunge Nirvana. Epic show, Kurt was a great singer and a fucking genius in entertainment business
this is just so great!
Never seen Kurt Cobain so happy in a concert as in this one, just compare this with the Tunnel show in Rome where he looks all fucked up and one week later had an attempt to suicide
Reading 91 just literally a day before is up there too
School is Tight! Take a second look. It's tight.

So fucking awsome 👍👍👍
AMAZING!
they've said that they purposefully destroyed their instruments sometimes just SO they didn't have to play an encore.
***** You're wrong. it's well documented that they used to do it so they could just stop playing. do some research
nobody said they NEVER done encores. they certainly did but to get out of them they often broke up their gear
***** most certainly is true - all of them said this in interviews several times. Get it right.
***** you're wrong, they've definitely said that they destroyed their instruments just to get off stage.
Majick Freeman Guys, Yes Kurt made the comment (probably more than once) that it was a good excuse not to do an encore - that was a tongue-in-cheek comment. He was mostly just joking around....jeez.
They didn't destroy their gear for the sole purpose of not having to continue playing....... And that doesn't mean that they never did encores.
This show is different. It's not OH WERE HERE to seee NIRVANAAAA.
It's more like: Who are these guys? and then AHHHHHHHHHH
startervisions it's because this was a little less than a month before Nevermind came out
They showed up late to this show. It's a lunch time set, as opposed to the usual dinner set. They were popular, very popular...just not the biggest rock band in the world, yet.
Now, I want to see the videos recorded on stage, please. Thank you
school is awesome¡¡¡
best version ever
this was before the release of nevermind imagine how good it must be to hear Smell like teen spirit before its release
Nice trousers Chris....
awsome!
Aaah, yeah, that makes sense.
hahahaha Dave and this set :D:D:D:D he is Insane
That School version
GREAT
kurt rocking the joey ramone glasses ;)
School amazing REALLY ROCK
Это лучший концерт!
krist is awesome at SLTS - cameraman just go off!
keren,,, maju terus musik grung
tuplo satulimatujuh
haha Dave looks kinda weird behind a more..."normal" sized drum set. I mean that floor tom looks like a 14" and that's smaller than his usual RACK tom.
Festival show it’s called back line
first time i see dave with small tom on drums
The guy bobbing his head during SLTS>
julio...they felt it. u can see...BTW They were Big early in Europe ;)
Woww!!
TOP top gig anyway its time to wash down some blue 10s with a couple of special brews LATERS
kurt, great guy..
autenticos dioses
Where is the Multi-cam pro Video?? You can see several cameramen shooting.. can anyone link me pls???
not surfaced yet...some clips from dave markey appear on the "1991:the year punk broke" film
O god i hope they release them (if anyone still has them), like many shows of nirvana where you see pro shots exist
the people next to the stage dont even have a clue about what they're witnessing
Have been there.
Выступление XD
Obnoxious roadies walking around behind the band the whole gig
They still clapping .
More nirvana from duschland in 1991 i was 14 years old whet kurt is dead in 1994 i had 17 years old
