i have the 2nd gen nest doorbell- thermostat-nest protect and was gonna add outdoor cameras- but have found the smoke detector doesn’t work in google home- which is fine but the new doorbell won’t work with the old nest app- which means u have to use 2 apps for nest products- annoying

On the app, is it possible to silence the nest protect in advance? like if i’m cooking something and I know the alarm will probably go off, can I silence it for like the 10 next minutes?

Can I have 1 nest protect at home and another one at work? Or do they have to be on the same WiFi network?

Where they fail miserably is when you want other family members to have this smoke detector on their phone. It's impossibe to add a family member and the instructions they claim work are convoluted at best besides the fact that depending who you ask there are multiple ways to do this. Somehow you have to have Google home on everyones phone which means they have to have a gmail account. I'm not interested in Google Home whatsoever. The only Google/Nest device I have is this smoke alarm. I simply want it so that if there is smoke/Co2 that my kids phones sound off. They couldn't have made the process more complicated if they tried. So one year later and I'm the only person in the house whos phone will alert to smoke/Co2. If I knew it was going to be this complex/impossible to share with my family I wouldn't have bought it.
