Alexei's death was so telegraphed, I can't believe anyone was shocked by it. And I really didn't care about the character, because the writers tried too hard to make him "quirky and lovable" in the hopes of getting an emotional reaction by killing him. It was too much of a cheap trope for my taste.

I honestly thought Dacre Montgomery did an absolutely fantastic job in this season and I actually did cry at his death, not really because seeing a horrible person die was sad, but because the flashbacks remind you that he was once an innocent boy who had all his potential stripped away from him

Me tooo! When Max talked to Billy’s gravestone in S4, I started sobbing
I'm from an abusive household and Billy's upbringing really made me connect with the character. It shows you that Billy wasn't a monster, he was just a human coping with his trauma in all the wrong ways. Perhaps Billy could've met someone one day who would've shown him how to healthily overcome his trauma but sadly that potential future died with him.
He died protecting Eleven, it just shows that he was a good person who got corrupted by a bad life. 😥
"My heart bleeds for him as a child, someone took a kid and manufactured a monster, at the same time as an adult he's irredeemable" - Will Graham (Manhunter) while i don't think Billy is fully irredeemable i think this quote mostly fits well with how i see his character.

Robin’s coming out scene is one of the best I’ve ever seen. It was handled and acted so well by Joe and Maya.
And I love the Dustin Suzie scene because it reminded me that, at the end of the day, these are just kids having to deal with this.

I’m sorry but season 4 was hella disappointing….the whole small town thing was COMPLETEY gone and although there was a memorable villain and moments, there was a bunch more cringy and dumb moments and bad acting that really made some parts a chore to watch
Mrs. Driscoll stole my heart instantly and completely and I was actually devastated when she died, even though I knew it had to be coming since she was so damn likeable.
Its a rule: If a new character is likeable in Stranger Things, he/she is not gonna live past the season :(

The Numbers bit was so cool here!! You showed the victims like usual, then we see a bar graph of comparing how many victims were in each season (I bet you’d use it again when counting sequels for films), next we got a chart that shows how many people each character killed, then we get the usual kill on average.
Such a huge upgrade!! It’s so cool watching this incredible series grow!

The way the episodes are set up is one of the reasons I love Stranger Things so much. In every season there is one or a group of characters that go around Hawkins each discovering something different about the main enemy of that season and at the last few episodes they all come together in the same place, like starcourt, and fight whatever it is they discovered.
@qopoy dnon Me too I think that the models and animations of the show are what make stranger things stranger things.
Except in this season, they give us (the audience) the answers to the entire mystery within the first 2 episodes, and then we have to spend another 6 hours watching the characters slowly figuring out everything we already know. It was so poorly written. Even the characters themselves were suddenly written as very different and unlikable.

Alexeis death was easily the most heart wrenching for me, how brutal Grigori was to simply kill him after alexei was so excited and happy to experience America.
Hopper threatened a preteen boy and smiled when he saw how upset his preteen daughter was about the way the boy was treating her because he threatened him. I have to admit I lost a lot of respect for Hopper after that.
Not excusing his behavior but Hopper lost his daughter before she made it to the dating stage of life so I feel like maybe he was doing what he thought was the right thing at the time he later comes to realize he was wrong and learns to let El live her life. At least thats my interpretation lol
It's called character growth my man. No one is perfect and overall I would say Hopper is a good person. I'm sure that he will come around to supporting their relationship in the end and feel bad about trying to wreck it.

For me, Billy felt like he had a good blueprint for a strong character arc and possible change of heart. I felt bad that he came so close to redemption, but it still fell short compared to all of his horrendous actions the past two seasons. I cried for Billy, and wished he could have had the chance to learn and grow

Animation is so difficult and the animators deserve so much credit for their work, the CGI really looks fantastic in this show
RodeoFX (the studio that made the fx) came to my college to talk about their work on stranger things s03. Unfortunately I can't share what was said during the conference due to NDA but s03 was the most challenging season they worked on apparently. I've seen how the rats and flesh mass/ monsters effect was done. Impressive!

I've gotta say, season 3 isn't the best Stranger Things season, but Mind-Flayed Billy was easily the best villain so far. The actor really sold the performance to make it absolutely terrifying

Dacre did amazingly! Vecna could never. I found the fact that Mind-flayed Billy could pass as human, as well as it not being 100% clear how much was the mind flayer and how much was Billy at times, as James mentioned, made him all the more terrifying.

I know series are difficult, but i sincerely hope that this, being James' first count after the break, was not so daunting that it in anyway way turned him off the idea. Weird as it may be to say, Kill Counts are a major highlight of my weeks, and i want them to outlast me. Billy deserves some respect. He was fighting the mindflyer so much. Karen could have been his fist victim but he told her to stay away. When you see him offer heather and family to the flyer you can see a tear in his eye. When he tricked el he was crying while the flyer was talking. In the sauna he was begging for help and apologized so much before it took control. In his final moments he took control and saves el el

Agreed. Billy may have been awful through most of his time, but he sacrificed himself for El. Seeing that he was once a normal kid who was abused horribly and lost his mom is tragic because you see what he could've been. El tapping into that humanity and him in the end saving her is beautiful and made me cry. No, it doesn't excuse his behavior to Max or anyone else, but it's understandable. His death is one of the most emotional.

Billy saw that lucus and max was arguing and max was upset. Even though Billy hates max and is a bully it triggered him seeing someone arguing like that. Billy is very complex but not a racist.
Alexei's death made me sad... he was a great character and knowing what it is like to live in a terrible country like Russia first hand his childish delight at simple things hits hard because I know many people whose lives have been ruined by an evil regime that was supported by the evil from Russia.
Well, Russia isn't really a terrible country nowadays, expect Putin, but back when it was the Soviet Union or USSR it was pretty terrible, Gulag also existed those times in the USSR and might still exist.

Honestly Billy's death got to me. He was an awful person, but he was still a human who experienced his own life in a terrible way. As a result it's made him rage filled, ignorant and cruel. This doesn't excuse his nasty behavior but explsins why he has developed in such a manner. I kind of wish we got to know more about Billy since what we did see interested me. And when push came to shove, Billy did what was right despite being an awful person.
Plus, Max is like...my favorite character so, yeah seeing her sad broke me a little.

exactly i didn't like billy at all the first time i watched it but on my series rewatch i saw someone who was an victim of his environment i mean it started in season 2 when he was scared of his abusive father in his bedroom then when we get the scene in mind this season and you see what all he went through from his asshole abusive father abusing his mother and a young billy trying to defend her only to get knocked to the floor, then billy's mom leaving him with that asshole to be raised into the bully he became it goes to show that parenting is important and if you don't parent your children correctly that will affect the child even more
