I think the 40mm version is plenty and saves you about $30 or more, just bought the 40mm version off of Best buy thanks to this review. It'll be my first fitness tracker and smart watch!
We have to change our attitude towards tech devices, just because a new version comes up doesn't mean I have to get it or throw my previous version away, if it does the job then I'll keep it, great video, I want to buy this smartwatch.
I'm so excited to find this video. I have ordered one. It is my first real smart watch. Thank you. I had to slow down the video to catch all of the good stuff. 😂
Bro definitely subscribing you are alot better than other tech videos had me intrigued the whole time you deserve alot more recognition. Hope you reach the top faster than you can realize it.

Nice video! Convinced my gf to buy the active 2 instead of the newer watch 3 because they have almost the same specs. After scouring every store we ended up buying a brand new 40mm for about $160 here in the PH. That's about $200 saved!
I had the 40 mm. Ok ,but too small on my wrist. The sales people at and t pushed it on me. Great watch and fun but I tired of it quickly because of the size. So I ordered the 44mm ,looks much better , stylish, and the watch faces definitely look much better with bigger screen. The 40 mm stuck up too big on my wrist but 44 mm looks thinner and more sleek. I think I'm sticking with the 44 mm. I had the watch 3 version too. Looked great but didn't do anymore then the previous models. I sold it and am sticking with the active 2 44 mm. Great review, thanks and i subscribed.
Thanks for your insight and sharing your experience with the sizes - I know it'll be helpful for those perusing the messages. 😁 And thanks also for your support! Keep sharing GearUP with your friends and family 👊💯

Hi Mahmud, glad you think so, man. I'm still a small channel, but with your help (pass the word and tell others), more will know about the stuff I make. 😁😎
I've had the Active 2 for about 10 months now and it consistently lasts me about 3 days. Maybe it's due to the fact that I don't have it on Always On, but I go cycling at least 2 times a week and go for runs and walks on the daily, so I would say I use it sorta heavily. I have a Spigen case on it and an IQ Shield screen protector and it works great. For anyone looking to get it I would say it's definitely worth it and I actually prefer it over the Watch 3 (less bulky, longer battery life). I got the Stainless Steel 44mm LTE version... nice to have but realistically I always have my phone on me so I think for a lot of people the aluminum Bluetooth version is just fine.
Dude, I didn't even notice that it'd crept up to a 1000 likes. Thanks so much for watching and hope y'all have a great Christmas! Hope your wife likes her 🎁!
@@gearupaaron thank you! i was researching on this watch. i almost bought after watching your vid. but i didnt because i already own one. gotta be practical at times
@@lillyheick3748 it's been 2 days, but I'm honestly hooked! I absolutely love the app and the meal planning and macros and all that, super easy to use. It's totally customizable, like screens, colors, everything! There appear to be some "step" challenges to get you motivated. What else... My sleep sucks! This might be my next watch! I have very small wrists and hands, so most watches are to bulky on me. It's important to me to watch my heartrate and want it to be comfortable to wear! Exciting:)
Good review I think you need to add the size---> For larger size wrists make sure you get the 44mm I have it and it is on the last 4 holes on the band. Barely makes it. The face looks kinda small for me. (48mm would be better) on the fence on keeping it bc i know its for active use not for going out & showing off. Everything else works really good. I think its a solid SM for only (now) $200 bucks! BTW its just fun talking to ppl through the watch!
I just ordered one and can't wait to use it. Though I am into my gmail and i noticed that it is in your watch. I am wondering if you can actually use the app in the watch.
so my friend gave me one these 2 weeks ago. not sure how i haven't had a smart watch in my life , so just ordered a galaxy 6 clasic lite. this active 2 is great. going give to my son when my new toy comes in
A big issue that people who watch this video may want to note. The GWA2 has a weird bluetooth connectivity issue when paired with your earphones (especially the Galaxy Buds 😶). There's constant bluetooth interference if you put your hand down and walk. It only works decent-ish when your hands are less than a foot-and-a-half away from the buds. I thought maybe this was a manufacturing defect in the unit I received, but I faced the same issue with the replacement. This is a largely reported issue om Reddit, but it never shows up when you search for the watch. I was really disappointed with this, and had to return the watch. I'm not sure if you face this issue too Aaron.
Wonderful review with Amazing video quality! I just ordered this watch and I hope I will get an alarm clock on in this watch cause that's why I bought it.
Great, honest, thorough review! We just ordered two of these from T-Mobile. We got the LTE version, and both watches were free with the commitment for the $10/mo data line. Not bad! Eager to get them!
Hey great review! keep up the good work! I'm getting this watch next week and I'm wondering if you've tried showering with it before, I know you mention in the video that it is fine to do so but I've read that the steam and soap can damage the watch in a shower, is that the case in your experience?
Unless you don't rinse the soap off the watch or put it in a steam cooker, those things should be pretty much safe for your watch. Just don't press the buttons under water.
Great review...I just bought Galaxy Watch Active 2 in bundle offer with Galaxy S21+ in just INR 990 (USD 13.5 approx). Mistakenly, you showed Original Galaxy Watch during the intro at 0:32. Just a heads up. Superb review nonetheless. I'm you'll be pretty soon crossing 10K mark too. Cheers :)
@@yahboijoz Stand alone, when you are out of range of your wifi and don't have your phone with you. Still functions like it is connected to your phone. Text, call, notifications, content, etc.
@@gearupaaron Even my wife likes so much she got it in pink we both love this watch. Because you don't have to look at Samsung Galaxy phone when you get calls and even emails.
Relevant review. You hit on aspect that matter most to me. I'm a nurse, need flash light and timer the most. Also, use Samsung Pay so, hope that works well. My Huawei watch2 died after 5 years. In Samsung world this year, tv S20 Ultra Tab S7 with oem keyboard. Love Google Chrome OS but just couldn't find what looking for...
I've had the original Galaxy Watch for about 9 months now. I've had the same issues getting text message notifications. It's not consistent and misses most. Not having Google maps and Google assistant is definitely a con. Bixby is unusable. I've tried a customer google assistant add on, but haven't had that much luck with it as well. Overall though I do like the watch. I was going to upgrade to the Galaxy Watch 3 but so far I just haven't seen the justification in what I'd get in benefits for spending the additional money.
All great points... If you already have an earlier Galaxy Watch, it's probably not worth upgrading to the Watch 3. The Watch 4 NEEDS to introduce a bunch of really useful and cool features, so Samsung, are you listening? And oh yes, keep the price reasonable, please. 😎
This was a great review! Fathers day is this weekend and my wife and kids want to gift me a smart watch. I've been on the fence about the Active 2, but now I'm convinced this is what I should settle on, and hoping it will pair nicely with my Galaxy S10 Plus. Thanks for all the pros and cons. It was super informative and great video quality.
Hey Joseph, happy early Father's Day, btw. If you have a Samsung phone and want to leverage it with the watch, then yes, the Active 2 is a great buy. Just be aware of some outlier issues that have been reported, like random water ingress (no submersion involved) and battery charging issues.
Excellent review....just a quick question is it still relevant today considering the watch 4 is just around the corner...best buy is offering it for 270 dollars should I go for it...
Thanks for the detailed review. After years of being a FitBit tracker guy I am ready to switch to a smartwatch. My wife wants me to get a Apple Watch but I'm more of an Android guy.
Hey Harry, thanks for your comments! The Samsung is a great place to start for a smartwatch, although it does make a difference it you're currently using a Samsung phone or not.
Hi great video! I'm struggling to choose between this watch and the Fitbit Versa 3. The 44mm version is 30 dollars cheaper than the Fitbit where I'm from. I'm more interested in the fitness side of things. Any advice?
Hey @Bendaboss, the Fitbit is a more complete fitness package than the Samsung (which is more an all-rounder). Just know the strengths and limitations of each and you'll be good. Let us know what you decide on! 🍻
Great vid!!! I just got the active 2 44mm after using a credit but haven't unboxed it yet... more reviews ive read I worry bout ut getting wet and not working.... would love to hear your thoughts on that as I know it says its waterproof to 5m for 30 min but again lot of people complaining and think if I keep it ima put a supcase on it but thanks again!!!
Hey Wade, thanks for your question! Anyway, as with 5ATM watches, if any of the buttons are depressed while submerged is just asking for trouble.... Maybe that's what's causing all those water problems.
@@gearupaaron so would you worry bout water bein an issue with that supcase on it the active 2 and odviouslt i wouldn't be messing with ut underwater... and thats you for your reply. Its greatly appreciated
Hey! Thanks for such a detailed review. It's highly informative. However, I'm stuck choosing between the 44mm aluminum and the 44mm stainless steel LTE version. I don't care much about the LTE, however the build quality with stainless steel seems better to me on top with extra RAM. But I've heard about overheating and shut down issues with the LTE version. Would you recommend going one over the other looking at the price difference? Thanks in advance! Cheers
Hi Gaurav, I've heard about those issues too, although I'm not sure how widespread they are. If you're willing to risk it for the looks, then go for it, otherwise, go with the regular model. Less RAM doesn't mean lower performance in this case. The slight increase in RAM for the LTE version is specifically too handle cellular duties, it seems.
Good video! Although is the bezel really a negative if you can turn it off? I suppose so as it’s genuinely awful 😞 I got mine recently and it’s very good, although I’m scared that I’ll scratch it
Informative and funny ... Not bad. But I love my Active 2 bezel because if I need it its there. Not like the first Active. But I had the Galaxy watch I loved it until it decided it didn't want to pair with my Note 20 Ultra. So I traded it in for the 3. So far so good. And because I waited it cost me 139. How about that. Oh and maybe you need to purchase a guard for your Active 2. Have fun, and as u techies say "Peace" lol
Glad to be back, guys! Enjoy your weekend and mask up! Also... POST-TEST NOTE: I totally forgot to mention call quality over the speaker!!! It's loud and clear, but doesn't like living at max volume (the drivers begin to get overwhelmed).
Should I still get this now?

I got this about 5 months ago for $150 with tax and shipping at Amazon. Now it's getting to be $190. Great review and feature of the watch.
$150 is a good price! How do you like it so far? Thanks for watching and hope you were able to subscribe 😁
@@gearupaaron Even my wife likes so much she got it in pink we both love this watch. Because you don't have to look at Samsung Galaxy phone when you get calls and even emails.
Nice! 👍
@@specialcookday are you able to send texts? Heard it doesn't work with Android/stock messages?
@@LeftyPencil can't send text or email.
Wow, you're totally surrounded by Samsung there, Becca! 😲 Thanks so much for sharing!
@@gearupaaron I was on a OP streak and I ordered this watch! Excited to get - yes the 4th major Samsung purchase this year.😂
😁👍
how the watch after 3 years now. still worth it? People on budget issues. I like the quality stuff
Yes, still pretty future-proof.
Even if you buy used, like I did, can cover up scratches with a slip on bumper
@@LeftyPencil Thats what I did, the watch is awesome! and last like 3 days.
good video thanks
Thanks for watching, Raman! 🍻👊
Loving my active 2
👍👍
Great review. Is this the 44mm or the 40mm version? Kind of confused between which one to pick... Any suggestions!
Hi, Jonti! In the video I pointed out that they're 44mm. If you have narrow wrists, then the 40mm is fine. 😎
@@gearupaaron Yes ! Thanks for the recommendation... Went ahead with the 40mm... :)
Hope you enjoy it very much!
Lmao I came to check out the review and found his intro to be one of my workout music. That's sick as heck
It's mine too! Ha-ha!
@@gearupaaron fellow tasteful man 😁😁
Excellent review....just a quick question is it still relevant today considering the watch 4 is just around the corner...best buy is offering it for 270 dollars should I go for it...
cool watch.. i luv it.
Love this watch.
Waiting for one for my wife. With discounts I got the 40mm for $57 off of the Samsung website along with a S20 FE 5G for $508 🤤
Nice deal!
Nice deal.
U deserve 1 millipn subs bro
Thanks for the encouragement, Swensky... One way you can help is by telling your friends and family about this channel! 😁
I very like your glasses, can you tell me a brand name please?
Oakley's! Most durable and best-looking ones I've owned so far.
You're welcome! I guess that depends on the case - some can trap moisture and cause issues too, and some are okay.
I suppose so as it’s genuinely awful 😞
I got mine recently and it’s very good, although I’m scared that I’ll scratch it
Informative and funny ...
Good points! Thanks for sharing, Merion! $139 is a sweet price.
