    People don’t understand the price because they’ve never run a small business before. Baking takes time, a lot of cost for baking materials ( mixers, ovens, trays, baking sheets, etc ), hard work, and costly ingredients. Though $40 may sound crazy, and not something the average person would buy, when adding up all the costs it’s the only way for her to truly make even the smallest amount of profit. Profit is necessary in order to keep a business going.
    I ran an earring business during Covid and had to sell a pair for $10 each and even with that cost, I was not making any profit. Essentially I was just giving earrings away. Running a business is difficult and I commend anyone who tries 👏🏻

      @DrStone-rd4ei 2 месяца назад +51

      @@JoJo-op5xyfr this person is just spewing nonsense 😂. The girls target is upper class, that doesn’t mean that it’s necessary*** lol.
      They keep saying it’s necessary for her to make a profit to sell the cookies for 10$ a pop or 40$ a box. That’s almost double more than crumble, nestle, and mall cookie stores. Time, groceries, equipment, etc doesn’t equate to 10$ a pop for profit.
      Here’s the math if she sold them for 2$ each
      200 cookies a day x 2$ per cookie = 400$ a day.
      Even if she just worked 2 days a week for selling and two half days for prepping or cleaning. She’s make 800 a week 3600 a month 43,200 a year. Minus expenses which should be a 1/4 of that number unless she lives in Antarctica. She should be making around 32,000 profit a year.
      Which is more than a lot of teachers profit**** (key word), from their salary for just a fraction of the time.

    • @DrStone-rd4ei
      @DrStone-rd4ei 2 месяца назад +19

      Selling to upperclass isn’t necessary.
      There’s tons of successful, profitable, home made cookie businesses that sell their cookies for way less.
      Her expenses can be covered by her revenue at a lower amount and still grow a large profit.
      Your earring business is irrelevant 😂.
      She’s making a wise business decision to sell to upperclass and make high quality cookies. Call it what it is. It’s fine.
      But nonsense about it being necessary to operate a cookie business is incredibly ridiculous and ignorant.

    Not hard to make delicious cookies - just make each one about 800 calories. That's the secret - sugar, butter, chocolate, more sugar, more butter, and more sugar, topped with sugar, and some butter. $2k per week for less than a day's work, with no travel time/cost - sincere kudos to her.

      40$ is a lot even for the time effort and ingredients. but if she can get people to buy into her social media clout and be willing to pay for her personally crafted baked goods then go for it. the market is telling her they will buy.
      iwonder how many cookies she can churn out before either quality is reduced, she reaches max capacity, or the market is saturated such that she cant sell out every batch.
      the small kitchen in her apartment is her biggest limitation. but then again its part of the charm that she is personally making the cookies. bigger production will definately make cookies more efficient and lower cost but then will people want to buy them if they become as "common" as crumbl places that are popping up.
      given her quick success she probably knows what she is doing and will market it in such a way where she can scale her business to the next level.
