You have a couple of nice cars going there . I know they will keep you busy and will be a lot of fun to drive one day. I’ll be watching your progress.👍
Wow I couldn't figure out why you were taking this project on and I guess I know now. It seems you have a lot going on and this old four door 57 may be one tough nut. I am curious to see what direction you go with this car. Your work ethic is very focused and I find it hard to believe that you will just ignore some of the problems that will surface. Well I'll be watching the videos and wait to see the final outcome. Good luck on the project.
Congratulations my friend on the 1957 Chevy 210 great find I like the idea about the rat rod. Now you have a '55 and a '57 Chevy great find and it has the legendary stovebolt straight 6 that's a great motor they last forever. I can't wait to see you finish that, I've been following you since you started on your 1955 Chevy and you do good work so I'm sure you'll do the same with the '57 keep up the good work good luck...
Thank you. Unfortunately the six is locked up SOLID, but I have a venerable 350 sbc ready to drop in with a 700r4. Should make a nice patina cruiser. It’s going to be a thrash for sure!
Great video. You are very good at explaining what you are doing which is so helpful to others. I too have a 57 and I swear that front clip was designed to be assembled on a jig. I do know that the factory installed the clip as a unit. You were smart to realize that the front bumper must come off to remove the clip, otherwise a lot of grunting, groaning and bending of sheet metal and trim would result. Just a couple notes for you when you reassemble: (1) the red wire going to the BAT terminal on the voltage regulator should be a black wire coming from the POS battery terminal. This powers the VR and the horn relay. Yes, I agree, red makes more sense but black is what GM used...just to confuse us. (2) You can remove the front clip without removing the hood hinges but you do have to remove the clamps on the hinge that clamp onto the fender. With the left hand hinge installed it will be harder to remove the front light harness at the firewall connection which is not necessary to do. (3) The antenna mount and routing is not as the factory did it. (4) As you discovered, it was best to disconnect the fresh air vents at the firewall to prevent damaging that setup as well. Really enjoyed the video and will be watching your progress.
Great video. Going to do that with my 55. Was wondering if you could tell me where the music came from or the name of it that starts at 31:28. Thanks much.
Took about one hour to get the whole clip ready to pull off in one piece. Depends how rusted everything is. Definitely suggest a good pre-soak of the bolts with penetrating oil the day before.
I pulled the front clip off my ‘57 a couple weeks ago and those air ducts were a bear! Keep up the good work!
I just found and yes air ducts are a pain, also was thinking long was he going before he thought of taken off the bumper ;-) My 57 is a sport couple.
Nice little Callection , make it fully road wear thy clear coat it drive it.
Pritty good for 65 years . Happy new year !

is that a two tone salmon/white or solid salmon? the solid salmons are rare cars.
Canyon coral and white. The teal was from the 90’s I think.
