56 Chevy BelAir Pressure Wash
I got tired of looking at the completely trashed paint on this car I drug home recently. It's going to be a while before I get around to working on this car, but I wanted to clean it up a bit and I figured I might as well strap a camera to my pressure washer and bring you all along with me. This car has an obvious re-spray job on it that is just flying off, and a lot of rot and body filler to remove down the road so I am not worried at all about maintaining the finish. Just a fun video to make in the heat of summer to cool off. To save your ears I removed the pressure washer audio and plugged in my entire royalty free library of music. The seat bracket on my 57 was the same way, welded up on the passenger's side, but only a couple on the driver's side...good video!

So cool. I can only imagine a time when tri fives and shoebox Fords and such were just the cars driving around. The 56 BelAir is going to my Wife actually. Going to put in an LS with automatic. Cruiser car for her to enjoy as a tribute build to her late grandfather who had a similar car back in the day.

I have a ‘55 Chevy project and had to get a replacement frame. My original frame has a complete set of nice body mounts but the rails are shot. I’m going to scrap that frame but will cut off all of the mounts first. Somebody might need them.

Should I paint the inside with turbo cans because gonna put all the interior parts back on and the headliner it’s not a show car anyways just wanna get it on the road what do you think the outside is gonna be painted with single stage paint tho
@@aidenog7380 rust oleum turbo cans should work just fine for interior work. I actually used the regular cans for the firewall and frame!

for what the parts cost get one with as many usable parts as possible there are still some good re doable 4 doors out there

Man thank you for this video! I have a 57 wagon and I’m trying to fit 255/70/15’s on it and I just installed 2 inch lowering blocks and I could not figure out how this was going to work and I saw your video.
Josh what happened to you and this 57 was watchin , then vids stopped , and in a later vid you said something about the debacle the 57 was and never heard another thing about it

Thanks! That is my grandfather’s toolbox he gave to me after he retired from 40+ years of working for Chevrolet dealership service as a mechanic. My mom remembers him having it when she was a kid and I’m sure it will outlast me too!

I’ve got to do the same thing. I’m looking at using 3m panel adhesive since I don’t weld … what do you think?
It will hold strong, but not what I would recommend. You will need to use a lot of seam sealer around the overlap to make sure no water gets in, and the “next guy” will have to remove the panel bond glue to weld in a panel. However, if it is between panel bond or a rusty floor I am in favor of what you described. Let me know how it works out for you! Maybe it is a viable alternative!
I'd love to watch your video of you putting the new rubbers in the vent windows with the track and inner seal and all your U-channels and felts on all 4 windows ,I feel for'ya.......I don't think you really have a clue what your facing.

I hate the bolts they used. In-out is with those captive nut plates in the a-pillar. Unfortunately I don’t have a video on it yet but I think Montana garage does. I did a google search on tri five door adjustment and his video was there. Good luck! I’m doing the same on the C-10 right now.
Great feeling to finally get the engine and transmission in I bet! Great tips on getting those broken exhaust bolts out, always a bit sketchy when dealing with aluminum heads, well done! Why didn’t you brace the inside of the car before you cut all that out seems like it’s Gona be all out of wack
No need really. Body on frame cars are stronger than unibody cars like a mustang or camaro and they made tri fives out of pretty thick metal so they really don’t move much when cutting out the floor or rocker panels.
What did you use to sand window edges
Hi. I used a combination of the softer worn edge of the sanding block with older paper and in a few spots just the sandpaper on my finger. It is easy to cut too far on the sharper curves and edges.
Nice part about a temporary booth like that is it gives you so much extra space.

Some title issues. Guy I got it from got sent to prison before he could finish his end of the paperwork so I traded it for parts to a guy who has a whole tri five scrap yard. I wish I still had it but without good paperwork it became a cool looking paperweight. I’ll get another one some time. Always looking.
