    Good job! My only concern.. Blue tape can be your best friend as to not scratch paint during install.

    Our oldest son has a 55 3100 p.u. where redoing , had to put a new windshield in it also ! I called the glassman , didn't want a 500.00 mistake ! 😂

      I can understand avoiding costly mistakes. But that being said, I think it's completely do-able to put in a windshield on these older cars without too many issues. The newer cars scare me. Good luck with your 3100 pickup.

      Yes sir, don't have much talent with glass, done the rest of it, just cautious over the windshield ! 👍🏻✌

    looking good Mr Daryl the molding can make a old car, being Stainless steel can polish it to a new finish.

      I was fortunate that the molding on the car was in decent condition when I bought it.

    Like your work and explanations. Where did you purchase the fastening brackets for the corner part of the front windshield molding? Thanks

      I got those from Classic Industries. www.classicindustries.com/product/all-years/chevrolet/belair/parts/TF401230.html?gclid=Cj0KCQiA9YugBhCZARIsAACXxeKeeGYW17HScOyGch-XYMg8uYW_r1qhDZCldC_YfhfCE10lPtsYyKIaAudwEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

    It looks good. Would you recommend covering that paint with something? I would be afraid of scratching that nice paint?

    • @darylvoorhees2629
      @darylvoorhees2629  Год назад

      Yes it would be a good idea to do that. I knocked a spot on the trunk lid against the lift (darn it)

    In reference to the side holes that secure the top stainless to the front pillars, Mine are about a 3/16th high? How should I correct this? I'm sure I pushed both side in too far. Thoughts?

      @darylvoorhees2629  11 месяцев назад +1

      Whatever it takes to get things lined up. If the holes aren't in the right location or if rust has them to big, then I would weld them closed and redrill where they should be. JB Weld might work if you don't have a welder handy.

    On the longer lower windshield molding, did you mount the clips to the car and then slide the molding over the clips? Thanks.

    • @darylvoorhees2629
      @darylvoorhees2629  Год назад

      Yes, that’s exactly how that lower molding is mounted to the clips. There’s a gap in the molding strip to allow the clip to slide into the molding strip. I had a little bit of a tough time with mine because the clip didn’t slide real easy through the molding, but that is the method to use

    Let me give you some advice next time you polish you want to put a mask on.... You should never be inhaling polished materials.
    And that's your polish job?
    It should look like a mirror.
