Getting my wind lace made right now at a Reputable upholstery shop now. I pulled my headliner out and it does not have the cardboard attached ? Fellow at shop said he can sew it on for me but needs to know where to sew it . From what I see on your video it looks to be held in about 3/4's of an inch and stitched a crossed the inside of the head liner ,maybe only 1/2 inch ?. I need to know how far to hold the stitching back so I have enough to tuck into the 57 rear windshield rubber ? can you give me a measurement on the stitching ? Thanks ,George
I am doing a 1956 two door post like in your video. My question is, how did you attach the windshield interior trim? There is a screw hole in the trim piece but no where to screw into the roof for the corner and next hole toward the mirror.
I will confirm tomorrow there’s a 57 there without a head liner for the holes you are talking about I’m pretty sure from memory the mirror holds the garnish trim into place in that area again I will confirm. And if necessary will take a pic !
Good video man I'll be doing that head liner one day. I made sure I number those bows to I'm missing the front and rear top windshield trim tho got to find me some. Some great tips brother thanks for sharing😊
Ironhead Garage the 55 sedan was the only model that ran the rear window garnish mouldings you dont have to use them mate the rear head liner hangs in those tabs I just can’t recall if the 55 have the tabs like 56-57 I’ll have to check !
Thanks for sharing. I was just wondering about the post and the sail panels. How are those completed. I'm doing a 57 as I type. Just wondered how those areas finish out? Thanks again
The sail panel board just sit there under the rear glass rubber that’s what holds them in I think there another video of that car that shows them fitted
@@Trifiveguy Thanks for the help. I finished the headliner last Friday. Looks great, and I wanted to say thanks. Without your video it would have taken much more time. Thanks again
The day ! by the time u take out the old tack strip and replace it clean the bows install them into the headliner it’s a whole day , but if u noticed I’m wearing a different shirt in a couple scenes I was working on other thing those days but 8. Hours and Patience is how long usually
Very informative, will attempt when headliner and windlace gets here!
Thank you very much for the very informative video. Much appreciated. I'm busy with a 55 Chevy Bel-Air 4 door. This vid will be absolutely handy

@@Trifiveguy yeah I checked it out mine doesn't have the tabs
I Got a ‘55 you can replicate this procedure with over the winter. Vinyl though for a DelRay
Then you can put new foam and seat covers on front and back. Then carpet, door panels. Don’t worry though, I’ll take care of the rubber trunk mat
Lol yeah vinyl is a little more tricky getting the wrinkles out
Have you looked into any sound deadening/ insulation material?
Rusty Zipper we left the factory stuff up there but there a few companies that make it
What’s that black trim stuff around the doors called? About to do a head liner in a 1957 and I’m new to these cars
It’s call windlace good luck with the liner 👍🏻

Looks good.
Thanks man !!
Do you have a 55 wagon video? Please
I’m sorry I don’t I’ve never had the opportunity to work on one
What kind of staples and gun do you use
A harbor freight staple gun that uses the T50 staples 1/4-3/8 make sure u turn the pressure down so it doesn’t push right through the material
Are you stapling into metal then.?
@@VeronicaJohnson-yh1dx no into the tack strip that attached to the metal
Thanks it h⁸
